Philadelphia Eagles History

Founded in 1933, the Philadelphia Eagles are a National Football League franchise representing the NFC East Division. Led by Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles have appeared in four Super Bowls — capturing the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LII — won four NFL Championships, five Conference championships, and feature 17 Pro Football Hall of Famers. The Eagles made their fifth appearance in the championship game for Super Bowl LVII in 2023. Though they lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs, the game was marked by a remarkable performance from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who set several Super Bowl records, including becoming the youngest quarterback to have a completion of percentage of over 70%, throw for 300 yards without an interception, and score four total touchdowns.

    Eagles Flight Night

by IgglesFan on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Overall, the event was very entertaining and fun. Great facility, and the Eagles put on a real nice show for the fans. Only downside was the food vendors outside......too slow, prices too high, and they were running out of stuff.

    Flight Night almost soared...

by EaglesFan22 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The event was enjoyable and exciting to kick off the season. For the cost and expectations, it fell a little short. For the Eagles, it was a great marketing and financial reward for having this event. As a fan, I felt a little disappointed. The event seem to have little flair and the fireworks definitely summed up the night. It was done cheaply and with little effort or coordination. The Eagle fan's deserved more for the price we paid and this event could be much more than it really was....sound familiar, yeah just like the past Eagle's seasons. So close, yet can't put it all together to win it all!

    Flight Night was interesting.

by GoBirds1 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The Eagles Flight Night was acceptable, but not really amazing or anything. It was fun watching the practice and fireworks. However, the players didn't really interact with the fans much other than interviews televised on the big screens. A handful of fans won Jerseys that the players wore that evening but that was about it. No cheers, chants or any kind of fist-pumping or electricity was displayed on a significant level by the players. In addition, the absence of beer sales made it seem nothing like a "real" Eagles event.

    Great kick off for season

Flight night is for the young!

by shelly1215 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

My husband and my 7 year old son went to Flight Night. Although they really enjoyed themselves, my husband said there were some people in front and people in back of him using foul language and actions. The people in front of my husband and son, stood most of the time, my son couldn't see much of the show. The activities for the children, my husband said the lines were soooo long. So although it was a great show, since the games are not a crowd for families with children, I wish it would've been catered more for children and family.

    Swoop Distraction

by BLAP on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

It was great to give gifts away but I think that shooting and throwing things into the crowd while the players were on the field was a real distraction. Everyone stands up to catch the prize and you couldn't see the practice or players-which is why we were there. Maybe if there was one or more intermission time to do that it would have been better but my 10 yr. old son missed much of the play time on the field because people were standing much of the time. Otherwise it would have been fantastic.

    Outstanding event

by Pizzle on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Had a blast seeing all the players for the first time this season! The Linc is amazing, and this was a great event for families, alcohol free. Lots of prizes were given away, although I'm not sure I needed an Eagles luggage tag (but of course I did). Fireworks were nice, but a little weak - was hoping for something a little more spectacular, but I guess thats what 30 bucks gets you. Great seats (Sec 121, Row 17) Players intros were great!

Nice to not have to travel to see practice

by shader on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Everything inside stadium was excellant. The long lines to get a simple bottle of water waiting for stasium to open was not planned very well.

    Flight Night was SO-SO!!!!

by tonyagto on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

We went and flight night was just okay......nothing to brag about for sure! It wasn't great or wasn't bad. It was bragged up on the radio and TV so we we're excited and my sons we're disappointed going home! Would we go again....maybe, but if not it wouldn't bother me!

    What a great family event!

by goealges on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Great evening! Plenty of activities like face painting, grab bag, games... Loved that almost everyone had seats close to the field. The give-aways were fun and the fireworks were very enjoyable! The only mis-step we saw was the waiting in line at first. We thought the events opened at 5pm and were surprised to see people in line waiting to get into the tented area until 6pm.

    Eagles Flight Night

by royal4mac on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

No audio from the field, which was advertised, very disappointed about that. The shirts off their backs giveaway was very nicely done. BUT the other giveaways were poorly done. Why not give hats to all attendees? They should have been more stuff for the little kids that came, several around our sits were very upset they didn't see more of the players.

    Flight Night was awesome!!

by chris08 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The entire event was great, very well planned and thought out by anyone involved in making the night happen. Had a great time, bought an autographed Brown football, extremely well priced, it was so much fun! Will definitely be there if the event is continued next year!

    Flight Night was amazing

by Navygator on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The Eagles promotion department is top notch. They put together an amazing night of foot ball and fun. The "Shirt off our Backs" idea was great. I can only imagine how excited those people were to win! We are now really excited for football season!

Great Way to Start Eagles Football 09

by BillH2009 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

My wife and I went and had a real nice time. A little crowded until they started letting people into the stadium itself but otherwise a great time. There were plenty of items to buy, the grab bag concession which they did at an event last year which was fun, and tons of mini footballs and t-shirts which were given out during the practice by being thrown or shot into the stands. A number of sections had half the section called out and they all got some type of Eagles memorabilia. And about 24 lucky people got the uniform jerseys off the players backs from the practice. They got to go down on the field after the practice and the players literally took the uniform off their back, autographed it, and gave it to the winner. And all this was topped off by a fireworks display. PLUS, you got to see a practice and it was all for a worthy cause.

    Flight Night was ok

by Mookie1999 on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

It was good. There should have been more interaction from the players. There should have been more games for the kids to plAy and participate in prior to the show (Practice?) itself. I wish there were some way to atleast meet, greet or get an autograph from atleast one player.

    Flight Night!

by NYCEagle on 8/3/09Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Overall it was a cool experience. I paid $30 and sat in the 4th row 50 yard line. It was a practice and a 11 on 11 at the end. They had some cool give-aways, so many that it was actually a draw back at some points because it became distracting to the actual practice. But good job by the Eagles giving us fans something extra to do and see. I think there are ways to improve it. But it is what it is, its a practice and thats what you see. I would see it again and if someone was thinking of going I would say check it out. But to me it is not something that is a MUST see.
