Philadelphia 76ers History
The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the league's first franchises. Founded in 1946 and playing their first NBA season in 1949, the team was introduced as the Syracuse Nationals and played home games in upstate New York.
After moving to Philadelphia in 1963 and adopting the 76ers moniker in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the city in 1776, the team has had a prominent history featuring several players who would go on to be inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame: Dolph Schayes, Hal Greer, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Bobby Jones, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, and Allen Iverson.
The 76ers have made 54 playoff appearances and earned nine trips to the NBA Finals, winning three national championships. Chamberlain, Erving, Malone, Iverson and Joel Embiid have all also been named the NBA Most Valuable Player while playing for the 76ers, for a total of seven MVP awards. In 2024, Tyrese Maxey collected the franchise’s second Most Improved Player Award after Dana Barros in 1995.
The Philadelphia 76ers organization is part of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment ownership group.

From Italy to Philly only for 76ers! It was amazing! I love NBA!!
Tickets and parking were easy to buy. All around fun family night out. Great shows throughout game. TV cam, tee shirt throw, and other events. Will go again. I really like the updates during the Phillies game next door vs Atlanta on TV cam.
Great experience the venue is upgraded and have a “new” feel. Event staff is so helpful and friendly! On the downside… 2 slices of pizza and 2 beers… $65 🤯
I've been to 150+ NBA games with my service dog with half of those attending for the away team. Never up until this game have I had someone get down in my dogs face and bark at him or scream at him. Arena staff were completely fine with this happening too.
76ers blew it in Philly against the Celtics! It was awesome! Tatum put on a show against the 76ers whose last championship came in 1983! Tough scene! But great game. Can’t wait to go again when the Cs are in town to show them real basketball!
Tickets were easy to purchase and no hassle!! Seats were fantastic and me and my son had a great time!!
Great communication on how to commute to the center. The information for parking and accessing the center was clearly unstable. My only letdown was that Sixers couldn’t win at the time.
I purchase these tickets a few days before the event I was so thrilled to get a single ticket 20 rose from the floor perfect seats the people around me were people that worked there were even more awesome they were amazing they're always great there I love them And on top of it all my 76ers won. Go Sixers.
Paid a good amount of money and drive nearly 2 hours to sit in the lower level and take my son to a playoff game, only to have the person in front of me rudely stand the entire game blocking my view, ended up standing up top with security to have a clear view of the court. Disappointment for sure
The assembly room is a great idea but you get what you paid for. A Bunch of underage kids drunk and obnoxious and seemingly getting away with it: I won’t be cheap and buy real seats for my family if six next time My Sixers came alive in second half tjo!
The section was great however ,it’s not properly secured. There are really no seats in the section I chose being as though it’s a wheelchair accessible section and people were still coming in our section standing next to us randomly.. Everything was great with the exception of people coming in and out of the section whenever they wanted due to being non secured
Sitting section 102 row 1 was hard to see over people in front of us. Would of been better to get a seat further back.
Enjoyed our first NBA basketball game there. Everyone was friendly and the 76er’s fans are very passionate. They loudly cheered for every basket, even when they were losing by 20. Concessions were fast and efficient. Just the diversions and traffic for parking was the only hassle.
We went to this game as Celtics fans worried that the Philly lovers would be crazy and rude but honestly the Philly atmosphere is something so surreal and fun to be apart of. We had a couple that sat infront of us that made the game experience even more fun. The checking in process was fast except for making us wait until exactly 7:00 there wasn’t many season pass holders to be let in early so I feel like they could’ve let us in at least 5-10 minutes early but I understand. I can tell with this stadium no matter where you sit it’s a great seat and that makes it even more better and your moneys worth it too.
Nice seating It was enough space and right spots for view.
My children and I agree this was the most exciting, vibrant, and full of entertainment sporting event we have ever watched live. We love our sports, and this topped every football, hockey, and baseball game we have seen. Absolutely loved it and we are already dying to get back!
It was a great experience for me and my boys thank you and GO SIXER'S
Great Arena but chairs are so tight and packed together there’s no leg room all PHILLY games should be started at 8pm there is so much traffic into the city let alone trying to find parking concession stands are overly priced way too expensive👎🏻
WENT TO THE SIXERS VS BULLS GAME ON 3/20/23 WAS A GREAT GAME DOUBLE OVERTIME WHAT MORE COULD U ASK FOR!!!HAD GREAT SEATS FROM SECTION 110 WILL BE BACK REAL SOON PHILLY FANS DEFINITELY PUT ON FOR THERE CITY!!
Game was so amazing just like back in '07 when I came to the arena, but today it had to get even different by the minute and the overtime double was so intense. I'll be ready to see the next game someday soon and this time it'll be bigger with company after I save up.
