Petula Clark sounds amazing. And she has a great personality on stage.
Amazing to see someone that is 85 go nonstop for over an hour and forty five minutes. Truly like the Ever Ready Bunny, just keep on going and going. Great sense of levity, and the voice is still joyous to hear. She still has it.
I’ve been enchanted with Petula Clark since I was a little girl and my parents used to play her music-but since I was born way after the 1960’s, I had not seen her do a concert (I had seen her in “Blood Brothers” when I was young and a theater student which made me even more of a fan!) Ms Clark is a true legend and this concert didn’t disappoint! See her while you can as she doesn’t tour the USA that often.
I knew that I loved Petila's music, but her wit, her charm, her amazing talent served to exceed my expectations! I feel so lucky to have seen her live!!
Petula Clark was AMAZING! Great song selection and her voice did not disappoint as she sang many of her hits . She was nonstop with familiar songs and enjoyable stories of celebrities she has interacted with over the years. So entertaining to hear about Elvis, Fred Astaire and Charlie Chaplin. Hard to believe she is 85 years old. She performed for over 90 minutes. Thank you Petula!
First time to see and hear Petula Clark and she was awesome. Her voice was very good , did not know she was in her 80's , could not tell by listening to her. She took time to talk to the audience between songs and she has a new CD that just came out. If a chance to see her, highly recommend it.
Petula's performance was outstanding! It was an hour and a half of old memories mixed with new experiences in music.
Petula Clark is now in her 80s and sounds like she is about 30 years younger than she is. This roughly 80-minute concert in the Gallo Center, to a half-empty house, was simply an incredible experience. Petula performed all of her best hits (including "Downtown", "My Love", and "Don't Sleep in the Subway") except one: "Kiss Me Goodbye" . In my opinion, that is her best song of all time, and she did not even perform it. Major downer. WHY do great performers sometimes leave out some of their best songs at concerts? I recently went to see Chaka Khan and she did not even sing "Through the Fire"!! And when I went to see Steely Dan about 3 years ago, they did not sing "Josie". Nonetheless, Petula is an ageless, angelic talent, and a real legend. I have loved her music for a long time, and it was quite a privilege to finally get to see her live.
Since 1966, I have lsitened to Petula, watched her on television, and in the movies. I saw her sing in Lakeland, Florida, USA on February 1, 2011. She talked to me afterwards and was kind enough to autograph her photo for me. I always was, and will always be in love with Petula Clark
I went to the concert with expectations of hearing those wonderful hits of Petula Clarks. We did indeed hear the songs we came for and much more. Her voice is so powerful and rich. The concert was awesome. She is really an amazing entertainer, such a lady. Look forward to your return Petula. Thanks for a great evening.
I'm not a fan when I walked into the concert. I went with a friend who was. Well, I came away a fan. She has an amazing voice, and a warm and inviting stage presence. Excellent experience. And, the venue cannot be better.
IT WAS A GOOD SHOW. THE FIRST FOR ME WITH PETULA CLARK. SHE NEEDS TO MAKE A BIGGER ENTRANCE. BACKUP SINGERS WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. HER VOICE WAS VERY STRONG FOR HER AGE. (80 THIS YEAR, WOW) HOPE I LOOK THAT GOOD WHEN I TURN 80. I CERTAINLY WOULD GO SEE HER AGAIN IF SHE SHOULD EVER BE IN THE AREA. O, YES, SHE IS VERY DOWN TO EARTH WITH THE AUDANCES.
To see Petula Clark in such a beautiful venue was just wonderful. At the age of 78 it is just amazing the energy and absolute joy she exudes as she performs. I loved hearing the stories of Elvis, Ella, Charlie Chaplin and on and on, she has had an amazing career and has many strories to tell. She sang many of her hits and quite a few other songs that I very much enjoyed. Thank you Youkey Theater for bringing Petula to Florida.
She is so versatile. She writes and composes and plays the piano and sings as well as ever!!
The voice hasn't changed. She moves around like a 40 year old. A great concert. I loved her as much now as when I first saw her in the Empire Room at the Walforf Astoria 40 years ago..
It was an unforgettable night at the Lakeland Center. The show started on time and what followed was over two hours of great entertainment. It's hard to believe but Petula's career has spanned 70 years. She is still in fine voice and her stories about all the people she has worked with are priceless.
The voice of this angel is so beautiful, I could listen to her all day long. Petula came onto the stage and lit up the room. She sang many of the old songs that she made famous, and added a few new songs. Petula's range is so great that she can make any song sound great. Petula was energetic, dancing and swaying to the music. She has a billion dollar smile. Petula interacted with the fans throughout the concert. I felt like she was singing just to me. This was by far the best concert that I have ever been to, and I am over 60. I am greatful for the many hours of pleasure that Petula gave me through her music, film, and television appearances. Of course I bought the brochure of her photos, and the music CD. It was great to be there, and I miss her already. There are many fans who would love to see Petula more often in Florida. Bless her heart.
I was a teenager who waited for each of her new songs and then bought all the singles and the albums. This concert had all the hits from Downtown to I Couldn't Live Without Your Love and This Is My Song - every hit - all of them she sang and much more. She did a song she had written about 911 called "Starting All Over Again" and she did "Love Me Tender" after she painted a vivid story about Elvis - whom she and Karen Carpenter had met one night!! A great show but at times she seemed a little nervous. I waited many years to see her and all I can say is "it was worth the wait"
I was so looking forward to Ms. Clark's show. She has created and inspired so many wonderful songs in her career. However, despite her admirable attempt onstage, I found that all the off-key singing (like fingernails on a blackboard), flat notes, and other onstage anecdotes compelled me to leave the show after about a half hour. I felt like crying. Seeing this show was my main reason for going to Las Vegas and staying at the Hilton. -- I am slowly going blind, will be dying soon, and this trip to Vegas was my last trip anywhere. It was so sad! -- Kind of like it would be if Michael Jordan came back to basketball as a player -- now. I will still enjoy all of Ms. Clark's wonderful songs -- but only in the comfort of my home. She has a wonderful musical history for all to enjoy.
WHAT AN EXCITING NIGHT!! Petula provided a strong, entertaining, and wonderfully crafted performance. Mostly '60s hits, but also movie and theatre songs, and some very powerful newer material. She fully involves the audience -- and certainly held me spellbound from start to finish. Attend a Petula concert and you will never forget the experience...special things indeed live on and on! Bravo, Petula!!
