    Positive, uplifting and fun experience.

by Mreen on 4/6/24James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

It was a good show. I took my 4 1/2 year old grandson to his first Broadway in Chicago show and he loved it! He was entertained and wide eyed with all of it. The flying of the actors that took place and the “fairy dust” was fun. Captain Hook was super entertaining. It was difficult often at times to hear what Peter Pan was saying but when he sang he was loud and clear. Wendy has a beautiful voice. The scenery and special effects were great!

    Satisfied

    by Tia on 4/5/24

I treated my niece and her two sons, (ages 6 and 12) to see Peter Pan on Easter Sunday. Everyone enjoyed the performance, the scenery, and props. Peter's enunciation was not as clear as it could have been, thank goodness for the teleprompter.

Our son loved the show, the flying & effects were nice. Overall, it was sweet, mediocre compared to other popular theater shows, but it was an enjoyable family experience.

    Waste of time

I’ve seen numerous Peter Pan productions over the years and have loved them all with the exception of this one. Save your money or go see something else.

    Amazing Show!

I'm not a big stage show guy, but even I was impressed by this show. Everything from the set to the performances was spectacular!

    AMAZING

by Debbie on 4/3/24James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

The play was wonderful!!!!!!! It stayed true to the original story, with just a bit of a modern twist. They also added some tech stuff, AMAZING. I ordered the tickets because my son, 32 year old with autism, loves watching the live plays that are on video. The original with Mary Martin, and then the later one with Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan. He calls them "Peter Pan blue", and "Peter Pan purple"because of the video cover colors. lol I recommend it highly.

My 9 year old nephew like it.

by tweiss on 4/2/24James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

It is a modern re-telling, but kept some of the old. I missed Nana the dog. The actor playing Peter was a bit of a mumbler. More film style acting than stage. My 9 year old nephew enjoyed it, but he has never seen an Peter Pan productions or films.

Skip it, even if you already bought the ticket

by Well We Survived, by Leaving Early on 3/30/24

See the review by Well We’re Not Yet Dead on 3/27/24. They are spot on. I have had Broadway in Chicago season tickets for years and have never left a show at Intermission, but I could not possibly have stayed a moment longer. I am very disappointed that this was even included in the season. If you have small children, they may enjoy it, but if you are an adult, you would rather be doing anything else.

    Delightful

    by Lost boy on 3/30/24

I really enjoyed it. It’s not the most thought provoking or deep musical. It’s Peter Pan. It’s exactly what you want. I saw this years ago with THE Cathy Rigby and loved her. But I loved Nolan too. He was charming, a little villainous, and was a believable Peter. The kid playing Michael steals the show. I had no issues with being able to see the flying mechanics. We all know it’s how that works and oddly reminded me of theater from years ago (during the time of JM Barrie) when effect was obvious to the audience but we love it anyway, cuz we “believe” it to be real.

    Amazing

by Josh Tatum on 3/29/24James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

The acting was top notch fantastic, but the real hero’s of the show was the production crew! This is my 3rd Broadway show, first OFF of Broadway and what was done on stage was absolutely amazing! Only gave it 5 stars because I couldn’t give it 6!

    Fun Twist on a Classic

by JSP on 3/29/24James M. Nederlander Theatre - Chicago

We enjoyed Peter Pan's opening night in Chicago. It was great to see and hear so many young fans in attendance. The music and choreography were energetic. Dad/Captain Hook is outstanding. The stage/sets are fantastic. We appreciated the humor - it kept it light and fun for all.

Not that good but I like it

    by Yimi on 3/27/24

Throughout the whole plot adaptation in general, especially the second part, really I just love this origin story. The captain is very attractive. Peter Pan was good. Captain‘s sidekick and TL are so vivid (Also cute baby) My favorite part of entering Neverland was the first row of the roller coaster. 🎢 I said to my friends:If you like this ip, go for it.🧚

Bad. Felt like a high school production.

by Well We’re Not Yet Dead on 3/27/24

The kids in the audience seemed to have enjoyed themselves, but as an adult (who doesn’t want to grow up), for me, out of all the shows I’ve seen (in Broadway and non-Broadway) this was by far the Worst. Outside of 1-2 sets, everything felt so juvenile. Off. Starting w the main actor. About a third of the time it felt like he was talking w marbles in his mouth. It was garbled. Un-understandable. Most of the songs were not on the level of Broadway either. They were like filler songs, non-enjoyable. And I’m pretty sure they took one song from Spamalot (“I’m/we’re not yet dead”). And what accent was Hook? Irish? He couldn’t make up his mind. They framed it as a kid watching a cartoon. Some outlandish story plots, etc. If they wanted to make it just for the kids, that’s fine, but they should have said so in the advertising. Because for them, I believe it’ll be very enjoyable. But as an adult, I don’t think it’s Broadway (in Chicago) ready.
