    Pete Yorn..Musical Genius!

by Chevychase on 7/11/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

I was first introduced to Pete Yorn when he opened for Semisonic about 10 years ago. Since then I have gone to 4 of his concerts and they just keep getting better. His lyrics, melodies and musician choices are second to none. I would highly recommend checking him out...

    Never a disapointment

by Highonpeppermints on 7/11/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

All the Pete Yorn shows I've been to have been great and this one is no exception. The venue is nice because it is small and good audio. I've seen him at the Wiltern and it is good but if you're in the pit from other places it not as good. Here it was really good everywhere. Yorn covered all albums including the Westerns EP and some b-sides and unreleased songs. He talked with audience and vocals and instruments were great.

    Pete Yorn is a classic

by Watchimgo on 7/11/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The house of blues is a great venue, but could use a little more seating. Pete Yorn's music is good, but he couldn't get people dancing.

    Pete Yorn is fantastic

by mhcandrmt on 7/11/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

It is a pleasure watching someone who is a true songwriter/musician. Nowadays, music seems so mundane amd uninspiring. This is not the case with Pete Yorn's music. His lyrics are prose and and his music is creative. He is a real performer, I have seen his perform several times and he never disappoints. I would defininitely see him again and again. The fans are also a lot of fun.

Loved Pete & the Fireworks too. PY is at the top of his game with a first class group of players. This is a tour not to be missed!

    Just as incredible in person

by SCAlum on 7/11/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

This was my first time seeing Pete Yorn who has been one of my favorite artists for years. While most musicians sound better recorded and mixed, Pete Yorn is even better in person. No distracting theatrical effects, just an incredible voice, strong stage presence and an energy that comes from within. HOB Anaheim was the perfect venue for Yorn-- intimate.

    Orlando Loves Pete Yorn!!!

by Justanothergirl on 7/11/09House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

Though the crowd was quite diverse as far as age, it was awesome to see people getting together and reveling in the moment! Pete Yorn is a great performer! I've seen many sell-out arenas, yet those performers lacked something that Pete had; he had a closeness with his audience, a connection. His opening act, Erik Baker was pretty good. I only heard of him just before the show. The show lasted for about 2+ hours, but indeed a great time! I can't wait until Pete is in Florida again! No distance(I drove 2 hours)is too far!!!

Pete Yorn: awesome, opening acts: not so good

by YahMoBThere on 7/10/09House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

I only caught the last song of JD King, and while it isn't exactly my kind of music I wasn't entirely impressed either. I'm not going to say he's no good, because I can't base it all on the last 3/4's of one song. That being said... thenewno2 was awful. They sounded like a really bad version of Radiohead. If I wouldn't have lost my place on the balcony, I would've left during their entire set. Nothing redeeming in their performance. Pete Yorn, however, was fantastic. I always appreciate it when a live show is just as good or better than the studio material, and this was certainly the case. Excellent show, great song selection, and good energy. I can't wait for him to come back to the Del Mar Racetrack so I can catch the show again. Definitely worth seeing.
