Great show. I would give it 5 stars if they had played longer than 1.5 hours. Pete & Band didn't start until after 10:00 - no reason for that. They played all of our favorites. I would have picked different songs for the encore, but overall a great show. Pete had very good musicians in the band, including the drummer who is obviously very talented but lacks focus at times (seemed to be bored). Go Pete!
Pete Yorn live brings new meaning to the word fun. It's my fifth show and i cannot wait to attend the sixth.
This was a really good concert from start to finish. The opener was better than expected, the setlist had just about everything you would expect (and some surprises!), and the wait between acts was typical. He also varied things enough to keep it fun throughout.
I had not been to a show at Center Stage and it was the perfect setting for an artist that I love. Pete did an awesome job combining both new and old and totally rocked!
Last night was the 3rd time that I have seen Pete Yorn, my second time at center stage. The concert opened with a smokey little singer named Zee Avi, lovely start to a great evening of live music. Pete Yorn did not disappoint I love to watch and look at that beautiful man. He played so many of my favorite songs with all that emotion and energy. I am definitely digging his new music and promptly went out to grap a cd during the concert. I have been a huge fan of his music and will continue to be. Keep writing those great lyrics pete and do come back soon to my favorite venue....Center Stage.
This is my 3rd time seeing Pete Yorn in person and I've always been impressed. He sounds just as good, if not better, than he does on his albums. There is a great energy at his shows and he played some of his best songs from each of his albums. Can't wait until he comes back to Atlanta.
first time seeing pete yorn and first show at the center stage. the venue was great. doors opened promptly at 8. seating was excellent. my pregnant wife commented that the chairs were comfortable. the sound was great not too loud. guitars were a bit muddy and snare was too high in the mix, otherwise excellent.
For those who love Pete Yorn but didn't make it to his show - he is even better live, so don't ever miss it again! For those who don't know Pete Yorn - you will fall in love with his music the minute you hear him live.
He has yet to disappoint! The energy was sooo there! You could tell that he and the band wanted to be there, be there to play some great music. I cant wait to go again!!!!
This was an awesome show at an awesome venue! This was PY's album/tour launch show in LA and it definitely lived up to everyone's expectations! He look stoked to be on stage. He almost seemed emotional on a couple songs too. I've been to a few of Pete's shows and this one is the best yet. The energy from the crowd was great too. Plus it being at the Roxy doesn't hurt either.
Pete Yorn put on a good show, but i have to say I was dissapointed with the talent he surrounded himself with. The other members of the band, excluding the drummer who was really wailing away, seemed disinterested and acted like they really didn't want to be there.
I've seen him before and I think he's better live. Killer band. Played lots of new songs.
Great show by an up and coming talent. Loved his set list, including the New Order cover. And have loved the Roxy since I was in high school. Actually saw Warren Zevon (and met him backstage)there back in 1980. Closing the circle, Mr. Yorn covered Warren's "Splendid Isolation" on his third album -- and the tune also was included on Warren's tribute "Enjoy Every Sandwich". Good Karma!
Pete looked and sounded great. He played lots from his first album as well as tracks from his newest album. Overall, really good show.
No matter what kind of music you like, you must see and hear Pete Yorn. Incredible talent.
Pete as usual never disappoints live. From when I first saw him over 9 years ago live in State College, Pa. he always delivers a show that brings fans closer to him. Plus i met him and he was the sweetest person. I love when he does covers like Panic by the Smiths. Go see Pete and you will not regret it.
Pete Yorn was as good in live as on his CDs. House of Blues Anaheim allows a very up-close-and-personal experience. We could even see the sweat fly off his head! He's a talented musician and played beautifully. Including encore, he played nearly two hours - definitely worth the money.
This is the third time I have seen Pete, and it was probably the best. The venue is so small that I felt as if I was having a private performace, and it didn't hurt that I was front row and center :]
Absolutely amazing. The great venue combined with such a talented artist, really made for one of the best shows I've ever been to. I saw Pete in NYC a few years back. Although he always sounds awesome, it was crowded and for a short girl, that's no fun. This show was much more intimate and it helped to be right up front! Also, I'm from Jersey as is Pete, and it just brought back memories of home, and that's always a good thing.
The last time I saw Pete Yorn was about 7 years ago. SInce then he has put out three more albums and his band has grown. I went to the show with high expectations and Pete and his band delivered. The set list was the perfect mix of older songs and new songs. Pete and his band were really good about getting the audience involved. Besides one or two feedback issues, the sound was great, the best I've heard in a while.
