About

Pet Shop Boys (Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe) are the most successful duo in UK music history. Since signing to Parlophone Records in 1985, they have achieved 42 Top 30 singles in the UK, including 22 Top 10 hits and No. 1s. They have released 12 studio albums, all of which have made the UK Top 10 as well as album charts around the world.

In 2000 they received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music and at the 2009 Brit Awards they were presented with the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

As writers, producers, and remixers, Tennant and Lowe have collaborated, remixed, or written for a wide range of artists including Dusty Springfield, Lady Gaga, Liza Minnelli, Madonna, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, The Killers, and Girls Aloud.

Pet Shop Boys have also written the West End musical Closer to Heaven with playwright Jonathan Harvey, produced in 2001 by the Really Useful Group. In 2004 they performed their soundtrack to the classic silent film Battleship Potemkin with the Dresden Sinfoniker in a free concert in Trafalgar Square presented by the ICA, and they have since performed it at various spectacular outdoor events in Germany, Spain, and the UK. In 2011 Pet Shop Boys composed a ballet, The Most Incredible Thing, based on the Hans Christian Anderson story of the same title. The project was a collaboration with choreographer Javier De Frutos and Britain’s leading dance theatre, Sadler’s Wells. The ballet won the Evening Standard Theatre Award and was given a second season at Sadler’s Wells the following year.

In 2012 Pet Shop Boys appeared before a worldwide television audience during the London Olympics’ closing ceremony. Two years later, Tennant and Lowe's collaboration with Alan Turing biographer Andrew Hodges, A Man From The Future, received its world premiere as a Late Night Prom concert at the Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Singers, and narrator Juliet Stevenson.

In their live shows over the last 20 years, Pet Shop Boys have created an original and influential style of pop musical theatre, collaborating with directors, designers, and artists including Derek Jarman, David Alden and David Fielding, Zaha Hadid, Sam Taylor-Wood, and Es Devlin. Their 2009-2011 arena tour Pandemonium was described in a five-star review in The Times as “the ravishing pop spectacle of the year”.

Pet Shop Boys released the album Electric in 2013, produced by Stuart Price. The album received great critical acclaim and gave Pet Shop Boys their highest album chart positions in 20 years in the UK and USA. The accompanying Electric Tour subsequently visited 38 countries over three years and received ecstatic audience and critical reactions.

Pet Shop Boys’ 13th album Super was also produced by Stuart Price and was released worldwide on April 1, 2016. In July 2016, Pet Shop Boys played an exclusive four-date residency entitled Inner Sanctum at the Royal Opera House in London. The concerts were staged by designer Es Devlin and choreographer Lynne Page.

Songs were great Sound System was not

by MBell on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

We were in 222. The songs were great but the sound system was bad. It only focuses for the front facing audience and not in the side. A sound check on all sides should be done so a better listening experience is also accommodated to people who also paid for the concert but were seated in the side.

Awesome Show! with two great class acts and a great DJ!

by GLPSF on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I was pleasantly surprised that New Order was performing and they were great! It was so incredible to hear Blue Monday live and some of their other songs that I did not know. The Pet Shop Boys are a class act and have lost none of their pizazz! They played all of their greatest hits and could not play a lot of other songs because they have such a large catalog of songs to choose from. I thought the crowd being so old was not quite as energetic as past concert crowds but both bands treated us like we were the best crowd ever. The highlight for me was hearing Always on my Mind live again.

    Live Pop Art

by Chris on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

The Pet Shop Boys played all the hits. The sound was great. The visuals were awesome. The audience was "fantastic" - we basically sang Domino Dancing back to the band. They kept the energy up all night.

    Absolutely Amazing

by Pet Shop Boys Lover on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

The show was amazingly beautiful from start to finish. I was delighted with everything and I never thought how incredibly well performers Neither Tenant is. I love the energy that he delivered. I definitely would love to see them again. New Order was exceptionally great performers too. It make relived my High School years singing along with their songs. The whole show was a hit. I loved it!

    Sound?

    by c. R. on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

We were in 106, first section off the floor at about 5 o'clock, mix station at 6 o'clock. New Order sounded great! I could hear each instrument distinctly. But Pet Shop Boys sounded pretty bad. Percussion too strong, top end clipping, middle all muddy. I couldn't hear the different lines of music. "It's A Sin" was terrible, very disappointing. We got up and left.

    Nostalgic but Getting Old

by Jay L on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I didn't feel that old until I went to this concert. The good: Pet Shop Boys. Sounded great. Just sad the didn't sing Go West. The Bad: New Order. Bernard sumner looked and sounded like someone I play pickle ball with. Very old and tired. Glad I didn't get VIP tickets

    Pet shop Boys

by Zen on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Amazing to see PSB in person after 40yrs of listening to them. Neil Tennant still has the voice. This was much more than a concert, this was a performance. Visuals totally beyond anything I have ever seen. Props to the genius that dreamed up the show within the show. Chase is a great place to see the show. Clean and welcoming. Drink prices are out of the world too.

    Great Concert, terrible venue

by No name on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

The New Order + Pretty Shop Boys tour is a smash, even if didn't grew up in the 80/90s, but Chase Center is a deception. As a brand new place, the seat configuration is a really miss.

    Mixed performances

by R on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

I was super excited to see two of my favorite bands again and together. Pet Shop Boys put on a great show. New Order was a letdown. Either they didn't do a proper mike check, or Bernard Sumner's voice was gave out. His vocals were unclear and disappointing at times, sounding more like a karaoke bar performance rather than an arena concert.

by Barbara on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

It was a great event from start to finish. New Order and the Pet Shop Boys were fantastic and performed all the songs the crowd wanted to hear. Great crowd of all ages. DJ was great and kept everyone on their feet all night. Chase Center is awesome.

    Amazing show!

by Matt on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

Great energy from beginning to end. Paul set the mood early, playing music that took me back to the mid 90’s SF underground. Then a smooth transition into New Order, whose imagery went so well with the set list. Ending with ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ was a nice homage to the history of the band. Back to Oakenfold and another 30 minute set of club history! Then the Pet Shop Boys! So well executed, such seamless transitions for the whole set. All of the imagery was spot on! So happy I was able to experience this event!

    Pet Shop Boy's concert

by Angel 57 on 10/15/22Chase Center - San Francisco

First of all it was my first time at the Chase center. We got there early, because the doors open at 530. We stood in the cold until almost 6. Once we got in there was some confusion as to where are seats were. Two can beers cost $34. Sound quality was good and the Pet shop Boy's we're amazing. Overall a pleasant experience.
