Peppa Pig on Tour

Since debuting in 2004, Peppa Pig has become the most famous snout in children's entertainment this side of Miss Piggy. For many toddlers, the British cartoon series is their first binge-watching obsession, thanks to its simple yet colorful animation, bite-sized, five-minute storylines (sample episode title: "Muddy Puddles" — and yes, it's about nothing more than jumping in muddy puddles), and straightforward dialogue that even a three-year-old can easily follow. And for parents, the sound of precocious Peppa, her tantrum-prone little brother George, their bumbling Daddy, and mild-mannered Mommy cackling together at the end of each episode has become so omnipresent, it's as if a whole ‘nother family of relatives has moved into the house. Like most successful children's franchises, Peppa Pig is a merchandising machine, and has spawned offshoot books, films, and even its own amusement park in the U.K. And in recent years, Peppa has stepped off the little screen and onto the big stage in Peppa Pig's Surprise! This live theatrical spectacular re-creates Peppa's world with the help of large life-sized puppets on wheels, costumed characters, and a cheerful headset-sporting host named Daisy who guides you through this pastoral fantasyland. You'll see Peppa partaking in her favorite activities — like going on road trips with her family, meeting with the beloved Mr. Potato, and enjoying a bubble bath after another glorious day spent splashing in the mud puddles. But Peppa Pig's Surprise! differs from the TV show in a significant way: It's a musical experience, with Daisy leading Peppa and friends through a series of boisterous song-and-dance numbers. Oh, and there's another big difference between Peppa Pig's Surprise! and its cartoon counterpart: You can't just watch it slumped in your seat like you would at home during a marathon TV session. This is a highly interactive experience, with Daisy encouraging the kids in the crowd to sing, dance, and play along. Just pretend the theater floor below your feet is a muddy puddle and get hopping.

    Nothing extraordinary.

by Mdeal on 11/28/15Weinberg Center - Frederick

I don't recommend this show. The cartoons are basically muppets with a very bad acting skills. Too expensive for what you get. If you want to buy something to eat bring cash with you, because the only snacks they were selling it was cash only.

    Peppa Pig is adorable!!

by fallmom on 11/28/15Weinberg Center - Frederick

So we went in to the theater, of course there was the tee shirts and the plushies all above 20.00 tee shirt 25.00 Peppa, George and a fee others 25.00 Mr. Potatoes was 20.00 along with the awesome spinney lights either George or Peppa each 20.00.... LOL the snack bar was thin all candy 2.00 with a few crackers and fruit jellies.. nothing like sugar to get the kids going!! drinks were also 2.00 plus there was beer and wine to get thru all the screaming kids!! The show was in total about an hour and a half with a short 20 min. break The show was cute a take off of one of the cartoon segments. The Puppets were adorable and everyone ahhed over Mommy & Daddy pig as well as when Mr. Potatoe came out to sing and dance. They were interactive with the crowed trying to get the kid up and help Peppa play ball as well as jump in muddy puddles!! over all my daughter loved it and it was not too long for mommy!! very cute!! Of course not pictures or vidio was allowed so I can not post a picture of the puppets. they were cute!

    Obsessed with Peppa

    by LLo25 on 11/28/15Weinberg Center - Frederick

Our daughter is 2 years old and she is head over heels in love with Peppa! I was worried about her sitting through a show as that was her first experience in a theater of any kind. The show was about 2 - 45 minute acts with a 15 minute intermission. The first half went great! All of the kids around us were completely enthralled. Then we had a break and we started seeing some kids go downhill. This was a 6p show so I heard some kids complaining they were hungry and others seemed sleepy or bored. The focus of the second half wasn't as appealing and it could have been a bit shorter. Our daughter managed to stay till the end but there were others who couldn't. My recommendation is to make sure your child is fed and go to the show with the understanding that you may be leaving early. But all in all it was a fun time and I'm glad we went!

4 stars for the show, 2 stars for the VIP Party

    by Jan703 on 11/27/15Warner theater - Washington

The show was great and entertained a three year old for approximately a little over an hour not including a short intermission. It was a bit slow going in due to security concerns, there was a bag search, brief pat down, and a wand was scanned near the child. The show was late starting but after it kicked off it completely entertained its target audience with songs and audience partipation. It held true to the Peppa Pig franchise. The show was a complete delight for the children with daddy pig drawing the biggest applause. If your child loves Peppa, definitely try to go. The VIP Party, well the plus side is your child gets to stand in a line to take a picture with George and Peppa and Daisy, the mc. However, the party bit is a misnomer, you can pick up a couple of store bought snacks, graham cracker goldfish, chips, and cookies on your way out. If you are lucky you can pour yourself a glass of lemonade but there are no lids or any place to stand around and enjoy the snacks. Definitely not a meet and greet by any standard definition. What is sad is a little extra effort could make it so special, maybe have a cookie baked in the shape of Peppa, have someone pour the drinks, and have an actual sitting area. The gift was an activity book, you got to keep your vip badge and a rubber bracelet. Actually a pretty poor showing for the cost. Further, the participants were repeatedly told not to tough Peppa or George. In spite of the negative aspects, having your child stand in close proximity to Peppa and George is thrilling for them though a complete rip off for the parents.

I guess it was fine but the adults standing upright behind some of the characters was a total distraction. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter didn't mind but there was a lot of explaining to do to her 4 year old brother really not worth the money

    Peppa Pig Live

by tmac51 on 11/27/15Packard Music Hall - Warren

My granddaughter is a huge fan of Peppa Pig and really enjoyed the whole show. The only thing that was a draw back was when Mr. Potato and Ms. Carrot sang they lost the audience I don't think the kids understood what it was all about but all of the Peppa Pig scenes were really enjoyed.

    Peppa Rox!!!

by SesameMan on 11/25/15Packard Music Hall - Warren

Saw this show at a relatively outdated theater while sitting in padded folding chairs, and it was still the best live children's show we've taken our kids to! My youngest loves Peppa, my older one thought she had outgrown Peppa, but both of them really got into it and loved it! Totally recommend going to this!

    Fun and Unique!

by Fairyprincessmom on 11/25/15Packard Music Hall - Warren

The show was interactive and filled with lots of music to dance too. We sprung for the 120 dollar tixs. It was great to have our photo taken by a professional camera, but you do have to pay to have your picture printed. Though it was though smug mug so it was not too expensive. The gift you get is a rubber pink or blue braclet and a magazine. I was hoping the gift at that price point was a small stuffed peppa but the magazine was fun to work on at home later. The show was only 2 hours a way and I liked that it was at 2pm during the day. Staff was nice and friendly! I would do it again if they get the newest Peppa show that's out in the UK. Free parking was a plus at this venue! They also let you have food at this venue too. The show's gift shop had a nice variety too!

Great Show - Except for Being Sprayed With WATER!

by Soccerbear09 on 11/25/15Packard Music Hall - Warren

The show was wonderful for little kids who love Peppa. My daughter is 1 1/2 and we had front row seats and 5th row seats. The stage was very high in the front so it was hard for her to see. Then toward the end of the show the pigs were have a puddle jumping contest and every time they would jump water would spray right into our faces. We got drenched and so did the wood floor in front of us that they were having us all jump on also during this scene. The floors were slippery. Also it would have been fine to get wet in the summer but it was freezing and windy outside so when we left we were super cold. Great show - water was a bad idea all the way around.

Peppa Pig Live not worth the money

by Aspenmomma on 11/24/15Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

My 4 year old daughter loves Peppa Pig so we thought this would be a great event for her. First, the show was expensive for good seats. The show was extremely loud hurting my daughter's ears. The show itself was a very cheap production and my daughter was not interested. So after spending all the money the show itself was not worth it. I wouldn't recommend it.
