About

Pentatonix are a three-time Grammy Award-winning a cappella group from Arlington, Texas. Their breakthrough came when they won the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2011, and they gained further recognition by uploading videos to their YouTube channel. The quintet has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, with two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200: Pentatonix (2015) and the platinum-certified A Pentatonix Christmas (2016). Consisting of singers Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kristin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee, Pentatonix have been invited to perform everywhere from The White House to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They’ve collaborated with artists such as Kelly Clarkson and Lindsey Stirling, and performed with Dolly Parton on her classic hit “Jolene,” which earned Pentatonix a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance in 2017. The talented singers regularly perform in sold-out arenas worldwide, and have toured with acts like Kelly Clarkson, Rachel Platten and Echosmith.

    Awesome!

by GirlygirlG on 6/3/13Terminal 5 - New York

I loved the show a lot! i made my way to the front. but, once i got there everyone was pushing and shoving me. most of the time people were paying closer attention to getting up front more than they were actually listening to the artist perform! after a little while it calmed down. also, i do think that they should provide air conditioning. it was not fun being drenched in my own and other peoples sweat. Otherwise, i had a great time and will surely be attending again next year!

    Put your head up

by ThePartyMaker on 6/3/13Terminal 5 - New York

When i went there, it was amazing. I went to the photo booth and i took a bunch of photos. I meet lohanthony thecomputernerd01 the gregory bros woodys gamertag and more. It was a lot of fun. My question is is there going to be a second one in nyc. Because if there was like during the summer, I would go again.

    Quantity over Quality

    by Anonymous1027 on 6/3/13Terminal 5 - New York

Digitour is a great concept, but it is filled with many acts that should not be put together in a show. Although I am biased towards acts such as Kina Grannis, Clara C, AHMIR and Pentatonix, their singing talents should not at all be associated with the pop "autotune" youtubers who's general audience are preteens. I really thought there would be a more mature audience, one without the screaming preteen girls who talked loudly during great singing acts such as Kina Grannis, while cheering loudly any time One Direction was used in a sentence. I don't mean to undermine the talent of the other acts, but them, as well as some of the emcees were just corny, drawn out attempts at trying to sound and be cool. I think digitour should refine its focus on what this concert displays, because in my opinion.. you do not mix Kina Grannis with Allstar Weekend or whoever LohAnthony is.

    DIGIFEST NYC 2013 !!

    by Stephhhx123 on 6/3/13Terminal 5 - New York

DigiFest was really fun, with A LOT of acts. However, certain people (mostly the youtubers/vloggers) had really short sets. The musical acts had more time to perform but because there were so many acts, some only had a few minutes on stage. The events lasted almost 10 hours but there was no food provided or even sold. People had to leave the venue in order to eat. Also, the programming was out of order for many of the acts. Because the schedule was not followed, I ended up missing a performer that I really wanted to see. They also ran out of VIP laminates for everyone. Although the event was really really fun, better organization would have made the day even better!

Good acts but WAY too long

by Carlybp on 6/3/13Terminal 5 - New York

I wanted to see Pentatonix but hanging out for 7 hours to see every single act? No way. And they would not post the schedule outside of the venue. I could not find it ANY WHERE. We got in and found out they were last. We asked the guy at the door if we could come back later and he said no way. Well, we left any way. Luckily, a nice guy at the door let us back in toward the end. If the whole event had been 3 hours, we probably would have stayed and enjoyed it. But 7 hours is WAY too long. It's also not fair to the final acts which are supposed to be the headliners. The audience was thin and very tired by the time they came out. I felt badly they had to perform to such a tired, lame crowd.

    AWESOME

by Vvincent06 on 5/30/13House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Pentatonix are by far the most entertaining people I have ever seen. I am a huge music fan of all types of music and they bring a mix of every style to perfection. I follow them on YouTube and they are constantly putting out new covers from artist I would not dream of them doing.

    Awesome

    by trose333 on 5/19/13revolution - ft lauderdale

I wish there were more groups like this out there today. They rely on themselves to make all the music, all current, hot, fresh music. They talk to you and you can tell they love what they do. They are the show and that makes this act one of a kind! Great job guys!!

    By Far the Best Concert

by Blewmymind24689 on 5/7/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

Pentatonix was incredibly amazing! I have never been to a concert where the artists are so interactive with the crowd and so humble. I loved seeing them close to home..I have been dreaming of seeing them for over a year. They sang all of my favorite songs!!!!

    Amazing group, crappy venue

by SoyFantasma on 5/1/13Bogart's - Cincinnati

The 5 stars are for Pentatonix - not Bogart's! This group continues to amaze and I'd definitely see them again, elsewhere!

Pentatonix was awesome - such a talented group!

by CrispyMc on 4/30/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

The show was incredible - fun, fast and furious! At first it was difficult to hear Mitch and Kirsty in the middle registers - the bass was really loud. Our seats were in the balcony, so that may have had something to do with it. But overall, really entertaining!!

Great show but sound system needs tweaking

by Mikedorayme on 4/30/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

Incredibly talented group of singers. However the sound system needs some fine tuning. The bass and percussion were overpowering and distorted the overall sound.

    I haven't stopped squeeing.

by AriaRae on 4/30/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

I found out about Pentatonix from The Sing-Off, but I'd liked other groups from there and they'd never really gotten off the ground so I bought some tracks from the show and just left it at that. Then, to my amazement, this group of insanely talented singers had gone viral and so many of my friends were talking about them. They are even more talented live than they are on their ep and the show was FANTASTIC. If and/or when (*fingers crossed*) they come back to Michigan, I am without a doubt there!!

    PTX 4 LIFE!

by SigningAngel on 4/30/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

AS my first experience seeing Pentatonix (PTX) live, as well as my first time at the Kalamazoo State Theater, I would have to say that both were beyond my expectations. The concert itself was VERY enjoyable. It was family friendly (which was appreciated even though I don't have children) and was entertaining from beginning to end. The Theater was LOVELY! I will be on the look out for other events at this venue. It was clean, the staff was friendly. It wasn't so large that I felt lost in the chaos but it also wasn't so small that it felt cramped and confined. The beautiful stage and surroundings make it a perfect place for concerts and plays. My only complaint had nothing to do with the show but with the individuals who continually interrupted my experience by asking us to sit down. It's a concert. When the people in front of me stand, I'm going to as well to both enjoy the show and have fun myself. Overall, WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ^_^*

    Pentatonix

by Anonymous on 4/30/13State Theatre, Kalamazoo - Kalamazoo

Impressive group and well attended by hundreds of screaming choir members. Great live show. If you have a junior/high school child in choir, this is an awesome show for them to see. Pentatonix not only performed but they reached out to the audience to do some singing, too. Very personable group and you could see how much they love to sing with every move they made. Wonderful musicians.

    What a disappointment!

by Choohoo on 4/9/13State Theatre - Portland

My husband and I were visiting Portland this past weekend, and thought we'd go out for an evening of entertainment. We absolutely love A cappella groups so was delighted to find that there was such a group performing at the State Theater in Portland on Sunday evening. Since I was not familiar with this group I looked up Pentatonix on Youtube and was blown away by the talent of these five young performers. "Somebody that I used to know", "Let's get it on", "Moves like Jagger", etc. Couldn't wait to hear them do their stuff in person. Sadly, the beauty of their tight harmony, their individual talents were marred by a sound system that had no interest in their vocal beauty. The base amp was up so loud I could feel my chest vibrating! The volume on Kevin, the beatbox guy was so loud, it was clear that the only thing of interest at this concert was noise and volume. You couldn't even hear or enjoy the harmonies. It was like being at a rock concert on steroids! Additionally, the group itself chose to focus on rock style songs for a large percentage of the concert. We kept thinking that at any moment they would give us a little variety, but no...it was all the same kind of songs one right after the other, loud, fast, rockish. Jumping around on the stage, letting Kevin's beatbox dominate the group in its volume prevented the audience from hearing their true vocal talent. After a solid 1hour of thunderous base and volume discomfort, my husband and I got up and walked out of the concert. Thirty dollars down the drain for each of us. But we just couldn't stand the NOISE any longer. We came to hear singing, harmony, and talent. Their performance on the Sing Off is not what we saw in person. Again, too bad we will not be recommending their concerts to any music lovers.

The Pentatonix were FANTASTIC! I've never had more fun at a concert before. I lost my voice from screaming for them, and if there was a moment I wasn't screaming, it was because my mouth was hanging open in amazement of their incredible musical abilities. If you ever get the chance to see them, do so! I'd go again in a second.
