Pensacola Ice Flyers Background
The Pensacola Ice Flyers were founded in 2009, following the Ice Pilots who had been part of the ECHL since 1996. The team began playing at the Pensacola Bay Center in the 2009-10 season as a member of the SPHL. Since then, the Ice Flyers have become one of the top teams in the league, winning multiple championships and making a significant impact on the community. The team is owned by Greg Harris, who took over in 2012. With four President's Cup championships, they are tied for most in league history. Their attendance numbers consistently rank in the top three in the league. The Ice Flyers will celebrate their 15th anniversary during the 2023-24 season.
Great venue, lots of fun, lots of positive energy!
Always a pleasure. Never had a problem, can find seats easily
took my son to his first hockey game. he was very excited that hockey would have fighting. this game had no fights. the fans really enjoy the fighting. maybe tell the teams to at least act like they are having confrontation
The kids and I loved the game and the venue. We are definitely going back!
You can no longer get a meal here on a hockey night. Terrible food options
Game was fun, intermissions were entertaining but the traffic to get to park was ridiculous. We were within 2 blocks of the arena 30 min before game time and still missed the pick drop. More traffic control would help as cars would cut in occasionally bypassing the line that had been following the rules. Also more quick service options for snacks. It took an entire intermission period plus 3 minutes of the previous period to get a popcorn and 2 sodas from the inside the arena vendors. Seams like an area that could be improved.
it was our first hockey game, but it wont be our last. so much fun for our family.
Parking is not good, if you are not pass holder for parking. Atmosphere was good. Food is overpriced and underwhelming, Any kind of alcohol is triple the price of an average drink. Went to buy a jersey for my son, they were $140. I never paid $140 for a NHL pro jersey. They are trying to run this like an NHL team. Very dissatisfied with experience.
Had an absolute blast!! Will definitely be going again!!!
The stadium is wonderful. Employees are very helpful. Can’t wait to go again.
What happened to the energy and excitement at an Ice Flyers game?? It felt like a wake, not a paid for sporting event. The catchy songs that the crowd can dance to are gone. The numerous advertisements are way out of control on the Jumbotron. Boo!! Who wants to sit through those?! I won't be returning this season based on the pricing and the lack of involving the crowd as in years past. Let's Go Flyers!
Love ice hockey! Love the Ice Flyers, but getting into the arena is awful. The lines are not clearly marked. Season ticket holders stand in one line for over an hour only to be told to move to another line. Some guy is yelling, "Wingmen over here!"What's a wingman? No one is clear and no one was told they had to bring their wingmen cards. I watched an awful lot of very disgruntled people. Then once "your"line moves, you're directed to another door where you have to wait for the doors to open. We waited over 20 minutes which is frustrating. And it's hot in Florida even in October. Pensacola Convention Center needs to get their act together and get better organized. I'm glad i didn't have to entertain kids during all of this. Wake up PCC! Your security doesn't know what they are doing!!!
10 of us went for my daughters birthday trip. We all had a great time. Couldn’t understand the loud speaker. But we had fun!!!
The game was amazing the stadium puts on a good show but that being said seating is a nightmare. There is next to 0 comfort being in the seats. And essentially no space to enjoy your concessions outside of a bag of candy or maybe some popcorn.
Took some family that had never been to a hockey game before. It was EPIC! everyone really enjoyed themselves and the Ice Flyer games never disappoint.
We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The only real downside was the seating. You were really crammed in and the seats were very narrow. Very uncomfortable. The seating would make me think twice about going an event there again
Twelve family members attended the Ice Flyers game. We had a blast! It was easy getting out of the parking area. Great game. We won!! A good time was had by all!!!
We had a really fun night! Great seats! The Ice Flyers won! We look forward to going again!
Just an FYI, the seats are very tight and it was full in our section so large bodies spill over to the next chair. If you want room buy an extra ticket.
We were visiting from Chicago the 1st weekend of March 2024. It rained the entirety of our trip, which was an incredible disappointment. As huge Blackhawks fans, we decided a minor league hockey game could be just the thing to occupy a few hours of our trip. We had such a blast! The night we went, they were letting small breed dogs "race"against one another on the ice from one of their owners, across the rink to their other owner. It was the cutest, most innocent, and entertaining thing I'd seen in quite some time! There were several rounds of this at both intermission. We also learned what "chuck-a-puck"is and will definitely be participating when we visit again during warmer weather. It was great to see all of the local fans really engaged in their team, cheering on their favorite players and celebrating each time the Flyers scored. If you find yourself in Pensacola during hockey season, rain or shine, I definitely recommend checking out an Ice Flyers game! You won't regret it!
