Ice Flyers brings an action packed game
by Tinaann318 on 1/21/14Pensacola Bay Center - PensacolaRating: 4 out of 5The game was great, even with a loss that night. I love supporting our local team! I feel people should go and watch them at least once a season if not more, as its a great experience for the whole family.
The issues I had that night were not to be put on the Ice Flyers, but the Pensacola Bay Center. I ordered our reserved tickets for 11 seats, all in one row to keep the family and kids all together. When we arrived, parking was hard to find, only one gate was open, and it was a sold out game. The sold out game is great for the Ice Flyers, but Pensacola Bay Center seemed to not be able to handle the demands of the large crowd. Having only 4 people to scan tickets and check bags was long and we missed the first few minutes of the game. When we did get inside and to our seats, people where in our seats. Talking with them we found out that people were in their seats, getting an usher to help us figure it out lead us to his manager, saying he couldn't do anything about it, it was a sold out game. The manager went to get an Ice Flyer rep, she tried hard to find a solution as moving a party of 11 is not easy on a sold out game. At that point we was ready to get a full refund and call it a night. Next, the president for the Ice Flyers came over apologized and put us in the only available section, the Flight Deck which was right by the ice. He also brought over ice pucks for all the kids. We was happy to be able to sit together as a family and enjoy the game. He also came by a few times to make sure we was all taken care of and that the kids were having a great experience. He was very patient with the kids asking and touching his 2013 championship ring. The kids really had a blast and us parents enjoyed seeing their happiness.
We will be back this coming weekend, even with the issue, it was handled well and understand the chaos of having a sold out game. The last sold out game was 2003. :)
**The seating issue as we understood, is that Circle k is giving tickets to sell for seats in the general admission section, where they can just sit in any seat in that section. Which is never an issue as they normally don't sell out seats. This was the anniversary weekend and they were selling $5.00 tickets. Which if you bought them online they was actually $11.80 due to a $6.80 surcharge. Being it was that weekend our tickets where assigned in that section. Our tickets had our section, row and seat # for each seat, while the others did not.
