PENNYWISE IN CONCERT:

Punk rock legends Pennywise have been an emblem of SoCal surf and skate culture ever since their self-titled 1991 debut. As one of the most successful independent punk outfits of all time, Pennywise elevated bros to sacred status with seminal punk anthems like "Bro Hymn" and "Living for Today," building a massive following that still turns out in full force for their moshpit-heavy live shows. With a new album due out in 2014 — their first with original lead singer Jim Lindberg since 2008's Reason to Believe — the band promises to pull out all the stops on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Southern California in 1988 and named after the killer clown from Stephen King's novel  It, Pennywise released several EPs before their self-titled 1991 debut LP established them as a dominant force in SoCal's burgeoning punk scene. As one of seminal label Epitaph's flagship bands, Pennywise released a string of taut, anthemic albums throughout the '90s, working their way into the mainstream by the 1995 release of third album About Time. That album cracked the Billboard 200, a veritable coup for indie punk and a feat the band would repeat with each subsequent album — including 2012's All or Nothing, the band's tenth studio album.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Pennywise always puts on a great show. They have so much energy it spills out to the crowd!"

"Pennywise is nothing without Lindberg and now that he's back they're just as amazing as before. Great show!"

"The energy during the entire show was awesome and you could feel the love and respect everyone was channeling when Pennywise took the stage. They played hit after hit..."

  • No pit tickets available for purchase.

by Tony on 1/21/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 1 out of 5

Another show where your not allowed in the pit area without a special wrist band, bought tickets the day they were available and there was not an option to buy one. Made it to the pit area without anyone saying anything and didn't even know about it, security was searching for people with the wrong color wrist band, came up to me and kicked me out for not doing anything. Do not ever go to a show at anyplace with seating and a pit area if you expect to go in one. This was the second time i have seen this, its the new normal.

The venue was so awesome, such an intimate venue to see a big punk band that usually plays for thousands.

  • Amazing!!!

Great venue and staff, super chill vibe. Pennywise was awesome. Can’t wait to go back to The Cave for another concert!

  • Short set

by M. A. on 11/19/19House of Blues New Orleans presented by Cricket Wireless - New OrleansRating: 2 out of 5

Pennywise played a short set and Authority Zero played a really short set which im not sure why AZ would be the openers to the Bronx. I traveled over a few states to see the show and i was a lil disappointed. Ill try it one more time in another upcoming city

  • Dissatisfied

by Lisa on 11/12/19Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 1 out of 5

Show was scheduled to start at 7:00 with opening bands but never did I think the main event would take over 4 hours to get on stage!! I took off of work early to get to this event because I had to commute from deep Miami and I had to work the next day. What a disappointing show. Not only was that a complete let down but the crowd grew restless. To top the night off, beer was all over the floors, I saw people slip and fall and even as I left the show early I myself slipped and tore my ligaments and now need medical care. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

  • Never miss this band when they play near you

by Mike on 11/10/19Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Fast, on point, great performers, made me feel like family. I will be seeing them again.

by Tom on 3/3/19The Cave - Big Bear LakeRating: 5 out of 5

I went Thursday night because I thought the lineup was a little better. I plead the fifth on some of it but am really happy to see these bands being lined up. Can't wait for TSOL.

  • Disappointed......

by IJKW83 on 5/28/18The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Let me just start saying I'm a huge Pennywise fan. I've been listening to them since high school. I never had seen them prior and they were always on my bucket list. I got there near the end of Strung Outs set. I was glad I missed them because they sounded terrible. Like when you turn your speakers up louder then they can handle. So around 930 Pennywise came out. They sounded a bit better but still the too loud for the speakers sound. They played most of the favs and ended it with bro hymn at 1043pm. They were done, no encore. I was a little surprised. Maybe I'm just getting old and it was too loud for me. But I would really like to hear what others thought of the show.

  • Pennnywise - Full Circle

by socalpunks on 12/6/17House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

Pennywise was awesome per usual. The new HOB is great except for the Dodger Stadium priced beer and cocktails. Ridiculously priced...

  • Pennywise never disappoints

by Kin1 on 12/4/17House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Another great show from Pennywise! So cool to celebrate a milestone anniversary with the best SoCal punk band.

  • Pennywise and H2O were great

by ecw4ever3 on 12/3/17House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 3 out of 5

Pennywise and H2O were both great Staff at the new HOB Anaheim was kind and helpful, I did have to pay $6 to park at this venue though. When I was leaving this kroq chip person from the kevin and bean morning show cussed me out very mean and rude person. I will not be going to shows sponsored by KROQ anymore. But Pennywise put on a great show as did H2O

Awesome show, good crowd and venue. They were just as good as when I was a kid.

  • Pennywise!

by Robm89031 on 11/22/16House of Blues Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great show as always. They killed it and played most of my favorite songs. The only negative is they can never play long enough. Ha

  • AWESOME!!!

Everyone band did an amazing set! I haven't seen Unwritten Law in 15 years and they killed it. Strung out and Pennywise badass as always. I did not see the Runaway Kids but I am sure they were great.

  • great show

by pmesser on 10/25/16Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Pennywise is still amazing live. Perfect set list including the entire About Time album.

  • It's About Time, Pennywise killed it!

by Dubbsy on 10/25/16Irving Plaza - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

PW played 'About Time' cover to cover and was nothing less than awesome. Close out with a little 'Bro Hymn' ...what more could you ask for. Still bruised up from the pit but wouldn't have it any other way!

  • Front to back, Soup to nuts !

by TtotheBone on 10/24/16The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Pennywise killed it! About time all the way through soup to nuts as Jim said. It was as good as seeing them in the 90s. They also did Bad Religon, Minor Threat as well as 10 of their best sing along songs like F Authority and of course Bro Hymn. Great night and worth the wait. The only bad thing I'd say is Stone Pony should allow reentry. If I paid for my ticket and decide I want to leave because I don't like an opener or just want to get some air or whatever I should not fell trapped.
