About

PENNYWISE IN CONCERT:

Punk rock legends Pennywise have been an emblem of SoCal surf and skate culture ever since their self-titled 1991 debut. As one of the most successful independent punk outfits of all time, Pennywise elevated bros to sacred status with seminal punk anthems like "Bro Hymn" and "Living for Today," building a massive following that still turns out in full force for their moshpit-heavy live shows. With a new album due out in 2014 — their first with original lead singer Jim Lindberg since 2008's Reason to Believe — the band promises to pull out all the stops on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Southern California in 1988 and named after the killer clown from Stephen King's novel  It, Pennywise released several EPs before their self-titled 1991 debut LP established them as a dominant force in SoCal's burgeoning punk scene. As one of seminal label Epitaph's flagship bands, Pennywise released a string of taut, anthemic albums throughout the '90s, working their way into the mainstream by the 1995 release of third album About Time. That album cracked the Billboard 200, a veritable coup for indie punk and a feat the band would repeat with each subsequent album — including 2012's All or Nothing, the band's tenth studio album.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Pennywise always puts on a great show. They have so much energy it spills out to the crowd!"

"Pennywise is nothing without Lindberg and now that he's back they're just as amazing as before. Great show!"

"The energy during the entire show was awesome and you could feel the love and respect everyone was channeling when Pennywise took the stage. They played hit after hit..."

by Awesome punk show on 10/16/24Temple Theatre - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Pennywise rocked it as usual! Great opening bands as well! Not a bad seat or standing area in the venue. All in all had a great time and will always go to see pennywise

  • Another great show.

They rocked as always. Sound got messed up for a while, but they fixed it. My issue was the venue. One way in and one way out. They failed to post that you could not leave the bar area with your drink which left a lot of people piled up at the door trying to leave the bar area. A SIGN would have been nice.

  • Killer show

by Fireslug3 on 10/13/24Revolution Concert House & Event Center - Garden CityRating: 5 out of 5

Pennywise played fast, loud , and hard as always. Got the mosh going pretty good. The scratch was awesome with their mix of Irish metal…I hope to hear more of them. Cigar…killed it ! Literally…the drumset fell apart mid- song. I’ve never heard of these guys before this show I’m very sad to say but at least I have now. Bad ass! Super fast, super tight, and the timing changes in their songs. I have a new favorite punk band!! Nice to see some so cal skate punk coming to this area finally!

  • Pennywise

by Jay on 11/30/21House of Blues Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve been following pennywise for many years. I’m not sure if they were tired, hungover, or lost $ at the tables before the show, but the energy level was very low. The show didn’t feel the same as other shows I’ve seen from them.

  • Rocking good time as always

by Mattemiller on 1/22/20Ace of Spades - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Sound and music was loud and rocking. Pennywise still delivers high energy on a Sunday night in a smaller venue. Great seeing them play the old with the new and keeping the crowd energized the whole time. Fletcher rips the guitar and even had a little boy on stage singing with him for a song. Great show!

  • Best punk band ever

by GMAN on 1/22/20Ace of Spades - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

Pennywise brought the house down. They are the best punk band ever.

  • Sound was lacking

by s. on 1/21/20MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 4 out of 5

The venue itself is nice. I appreciate they don’t allow smoking inside. I wish there was a bathroom actually inside the venue. The sound was awful. It was hard to understand the lyrics because it was so muffled.
