Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

We had a lot of fun at the show, but the fun lasted for a couple of days as we talked and shared within our family trying to figure out the “how”

  • Best Magic show I've ever seen - in 75 years!!

by Mark on 2/26/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I love magic, and it isn't often that I can't at least speculate pretty accurately as to how the trick is done. I have to say that most - not all, but certainly most -of the tricks in this show absolutely mystified me. Best show ever!!

  • Serious Magic

by PA Visitors on 2/25/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

I found the show to be very entertaining wonderful magic but a little angry and more serious than I had expected. I am still at odds on what to think of the opening routine that was satirically religious with a young girl from the audience as the guest to help with the magic. The magic was stunning but the religious references were not relevant to the act.

  • Never Disappoints!

Took my 11 year-old for her first magic show and she absolutely loved it! They had new material since the last time I saw them, and it was funny, amazing magic, and used a lot of audience participation! A great time was had by all. Recommend 10/10!!!

  • Love Penn and Teller

by Erdaman on 2/25/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

I saw Penn and Teller 15 years ago and loved how they incorporated their love for America and libertarianism into their show. That was the only thing missing in the most recent show.

  • Great show as always

These guys are simply the best. They mix new material in with existing classics. Teller even speaks now!

  • Fabulous show!

by Carolyn on 2/21/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

They use audience participation and make it fun for all. How they did their tricks...they did them well. We love P&T.

  • More abracadabra and less average cadaver

by Ricky Spanish on 2/21/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Have seen Penn and Teller several times over the years. They keep changing the show so if you’ve seen them once… you’ve literally seen them once. Come back. New material rotated in frequently. They no longer do meet and greets after the show which is a bit disappointing (but understandable).

  • Penn & Teller

by Josi on 2/20/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is our 4th time to see Penn & Teller. It is always the highlight of our trip. This time we were able to share it with our teen son! This show is so well-done… so entertaining… and such a delight! The only thing I miss about “the good ol’ days” is getting to say hello to the wonderful magicians themselves after the show. That is something I wish they would go back to so our son could experience this too.

  • Great show by the Old Pros

by Jdn on 2/20/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn & Teller are still among the best ever. I am a long time fan and they didn’t disappoint.

  • Great Show

by Suz on 2/20/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great. Penn and Teller heavily involve the audience in the show and are very engaging. They are very funny too. Pay close attention to the pre-show bass player; you might recognize him.

  • Most Excellent!

I'm not a big fan of magic, but Penn & Teller were amazing! Remarkable tricks, funny dialog, and excellent audience interaction. I will definitely go again!

  • So much fun!

A fun experience from beginning to end! Very family friendly and enjoyable even for the most skeptical of magic shows.

  • A really fun (and funny) evening of magic!

by Steve M on 2/19/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

What a super show! These masters of the art were funny, engaging, polished and delivered some clever stuff for a good-sized crowd in a lovely theatre within the Rio hotel/casino. And it was family-friendly (which not all their stuff has been over the years). We saw them at the Edinburgh festival many years ago (20+) and that show was more '15' or '18' certificate; this was much less harrowing other than one mildly brutal moment, and was 90 mins of great entertainment. Vegas has so many shows to choose from - choose this one!
