About

Pecos & The Rooftops have been perfecting a signature heavy blend of lowdown country and classic rock since their inception in a big five-bedroom house in Lubbock, Texas. Formed in 2019 by a tight-knit squad of college friends, the band outfits their soulful Americana with muscular guitar grit, yet remains tuneful and melodic. They've carved out a singular niche for themselves in the rich songwriting tradition of their home state, as evidenced by their debut Warner Records single "5AM." Anchored by the heart-baring songwriting and booming voice of former Marine Pecos Hurley, the band is rounded out by top-tier players and songwriters Brandon Jones (rhythm guitar), Jessie Santos (lead guitar), Kalen Davis (bass), Garrett Peltier (drums) and Hunter Cassell (guitars & keys).

Big things have small beginnings. Pecos & The Rooftops chose their name--a nod to the part of the house they'd hang out, drink beers, and jam on--just before self-releasing their debut single, 2019's slow-burning "This Damn Song." It was a runaway success, earning an RIAA Platinum certification and going on to rack up more than 250 million streams globally. Deciding to ride the wave for as long as they could, the band hit the road directly after and haven't stopped since, touring relentlessly on the club circuit and opening for the likes of rising country star Koe Wetzel. They released the Red Eye EP in 2020, expanding on their already solid sound with more guitar heroics and more complex arrangements, hinting at jazz and psychedelic influences.

"It's about having a habit of going to the bar and getting drunk and staying up all night," Hurley says from his home outside Dallas. "You kind of know that when you go to bed it's probably not going to end well--because you fucked up again and you can't get out of the cycle. It's about being by yourself in the early hours of the morning. It's just one of those 'You fucked up' songs."

Pecos & The Rooftops have earned a devoted fan base who've come out to support them both online and on the road, with the band garnering over 350 million global streams and more than 101 million video views. They're currently on a nationwide headline tour with more dates to be announced soon. "5AM" is a telling preview of what's to come, as Pecos & The Rooftops ready their major label debut LP--a bigger, bolder collection of songs set for release later this year. "At the end of the day, I just want to help people with our music, honestly," Hurley says. Between the band's wild road shows and their highly-anticipated upcoming full-length, Pecos & the Rooftops are set to do that and much, much more.

  • Pecos and Rooftops at HOB SD

by Whit on 8/17/24House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

Really disappointing, sound was terrible, venue not great, just really overall disappointed. Won’t see them live again, won’t go to House of Blues San Diego again

  • Good times

by Steve on 8/12/24Ace of Spades - SacramentoRating: 4 out of 5

Riley Thomas was great and Peco blew the lid off the place. Venue had three bars which made the wait times much better. Only negative for me was the younger crowd. Got a little rambunctious at the end and the vibe went from good times to a 🍆 measuring contest and fight your way to the front. Ended up leaving before Peco was done but it was a good show.

  • AWESOME

What a great concert. They put on such a good show. So glad we got a chance to see them in person.

A super enjoyable show! They sounded just as good live as they do recorded :)

  • Great time.

Always a wonderful and fun experience when the band travels north of the Ohio.

  • Nice Venue

    by JR18 on 4/21/24The Bluestone - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the venue and both Eddie and the Getaway and Pecos & the Rooftops. As far as the Bluestone goes, I liked it. However, the acoustics in this venue were not great. Seemed muffled for the singing. Not sure if the mics were turned up too far or what but it was hard to make out at times, if you didn’t know the lyrics.

  • Music: Great Venue: Good, but some concerns.

by Rusty on 4/18/24Mercury Ballroom - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This event marked the second time I’ve seen PTR. Their opener was solid. Great artists and high energy. Just what you want in a live performance. The venue is nice. Great AV production! Looks nice and the staff were on point. I do think, however, that a nearly 500% markup on alcohol was a bit much ($15 for a 24 ounce Bud Light). A 20 ounce cup of soda was $8. Also, $6 for a can of water, with no other options for hydration. In a crowded room for a live music event where everyone is standing for several hours makes this a recipe for potential disaster, which obviously hampers things at an operational level. I will add that I didn’t see water stations, but I didn’t really look either. I kind of assumed there weren’t any, because they were selling it instead. I will emphasize, though, that I had an awesome time. It was my youngest daughter’s first concert, and we were on the rail from start to finish. I never felt uncomfortable or concerned about the crowd. All in all, if you came to see a good show, you’re going to get it at Mercury Ballroom. Just be aware that drinks are almost prohibitively expensive, and once you’re inside, that’s all you’ve got.

  • Great New Band in a Lousy Venue

by Tom on 8/20/23Rating: 3 out of 5

This was my first exposure to the band. I went with a friend who had more knowledge of them. I liked the band, but the Neptune's sound--at least in the Balcony--was nothing short of horrible. I was tempted to go to another location such as downstairs near the sound board, but the people I was with couldn't stand it any longer. The next time I go to the Neptune, I will make a point of finding a better location from a sound point of view. If there isn't one, I might just stop going there.

  • Amazing

Love small low key venues, it was a great atmosphere! Would like to see more seating. Overall experience was amazing.

  • Small, but expensive venue

    by Joe P. on 4/9/23The Bluestone - ColumbusRating: 2 out of 5

The venue was small which was nice that everyone has a decent view, but it seemed the acoustics were not what they should be for a concert. The venue also seems to make all their money from the alcohol sales, so a 16oz beer was $10 each! This is just ridiculous to charge that much for a beer and I will probably not return because of this reason. Pecos was ok, but it seemed he was mumbling into the microphone and it was difficult to understand the words. This could also be from the acoustics or the microphone, because even the opening band was difficult to understand. Overall I was not impressed and couldn’t even make it through the whole concert before I had enough and just left.

by emilie shirk on 10/24/22Rating: 4 out of 5

Was an amazing night, only problem i had was they didn’t play time for wine. that song has literally drug me through hell and i bought my tickets solely to hear it live and make me hate myself even more. if i ever get the chance to see them again and they make this same mistake twice, my letter will be addressed to them. But i had a great night!
