PBR: Professional Bull Riders on Tour

For a rodeo rider, trying to master a feisty horse is tough enough, a task not to be taken lightly, but bearing down on a big bull increases the scariness quotient considerably. That's one of the things that makes watching a pro bull rider so compelling — it's thrilling and frightening in equal measure as you marvel at the riders' skills while praying that they make it out unscathed.

These days, when it comes to bull riding, it's all about PBR: Professional Bull Riders. The organization started back in 1992 as a grassroots effort spearheaded by a handful of riders with a vision for what the sport could offer to fans. PBR grew by leaps and bounds over the decades, and by the 2010s they were sponsoring three major tours every year, adding up to hundreds of events with millions of dollars in prizes being awarded annually.

Needless to say, attending a PBR event means watching the best bull riders in the business strutting their stuff. Over the years, champs like J.B. Mauney, Kody Lostroh, Justin McBride, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, and Tuff Hedeman have all distinguished themselves as decorated heroes of the PBR, giving all the rest a high standard to which they could aspire. And each of their tours offer fans the opportunity to catch some bull riding history in the making, be it the Unleash the Beast Series that ends with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, The Velocity Tour that showcases the rising stars of the PBR, or the Touring Pro Division split into Western, Central, and Eastern regions.

Whichever PBR competition you end up catching, there's one common thread. You're guaranteed to see some world-class athletes reaching deep inside themselves to tap into the best of their talents and give rodeo lovers an unforgettable experience.

  • PBR Really Great, Except for...

by Husienda on 3/11/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

4th time at PBR, Always an excellent time, except for the full time extremely LOUD music, I love loud rock n roll, but Sunday in Bangor was way too loud. I felt bad for the smaller kids.

  • UPGRADED TICKET

    by T. P. on 3/11/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

After purchasing my ticket in a blind selection because the seating area never came up and neither did my price range, I received an email for an upgrade. I decided to take advantage of the upgrade. The seats in the arena showed up and I was able to get an awesome seat that gave a first timer a great view of every ride. I would have preferred to just pay for the choice seat in the area I wanted on the first purchase rather than going through the hub bub a second time. I thank you for the opportunity of the upgrade.

  • $20.00 parking was out of line

by Ron on 3/11/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 4 out of 5

Great event just got gouged with $20.00 parking fee. Many people in the security line where complaining. We later found out we could have just by passed the lot and parked 100 yards away for free.

  • Poor Admission Design

    by C. S. on 3/10/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 3 out of 5

Cross Insurance Center only had one door open on the upper level. This caused us to be late for the show that started on time. The admission process was a very poor design. It left people out in the cold longer then needed. The poor design also made us late for the show even though we showed up 1.5 hours early. We weren’t impressed!!!

  • We missed a big part of the show because of security check

by Mary on 3/10/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 1 out of 5

While we appreciate security , we were out in line in the cold for an hour with children . We had to go to the truck and get snowsuits with hats and mittens . Doors didn’t open until 6 and we were in line at 615 for a 7 show . Missed the first 1/2 hour of the show

  • Cross Insurance Center horrible venue

    by T. P. on 3/10/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 3 out of 5

The event itself was great. The Cross Insurance Center was horrible. Arrived 45 minutes early to the event & missed 15 minutes of it. I will never go to this event at the Cross Insurance Center again.

  • Cross Center Bangor Maine BAD experience

by LB on 3/10/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 2 out of 5

We paid 150$ for our PBR bull ridding show tickets. We showed up 45 min before show time. In 30 degree windy weather the Cross center in Bangor Maine had us waiting outside in a huge line. It was a sold out show and they were unprepared. We missed a 14; of the show because they could not handle the crowd. We did not stop for drinks or merchandise. We missed the ring of fire and all the introductions and some bull ridding. The arena was only half full but many more attendance were outside waiting in the cold.

  • Amazing Show!

by Sarah on 3/10/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time attending a professional bull riding event and I loved every second of it! Eight of us went! We ranged in age from 7 to 75 and all of us had a blast! We would absolutely attend another bull riding event! Highly recommended!!

  • Awesome

    by K. D. on 3/9/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 5 out of 5

Seats were decent. And the show was great! Definitely going back next year!

  • First Time of Many

    by P. A. on 3/9/20Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 4 out of 5

I brought my 10 YO daughter and we had a blast! The facility was clean, the seats were easy enough to find and I didn’t see one person who seemed out of control drunk. My only hope would have been something video/ literature on the history and rules of bull riding.

  • Second time and did not disappoint

    by T. W. on 3/4/20North Charleston Coliseum - North CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Second time I have been and the riders nor the bulls did not disappoint I wish you guys would come to Charleston once a year instead of every two

  • Great Experience

by Crimson Mommy on 3/4/20North Charleston Coliseum - North CharlestonRating: 4 out of 5

I’ve never gone to a rodeo in doors before. This was my first experience. The seats we got were pretty much right up front, but were crammed in these tiny spaces that weren’t big enough for 7 grown adults to sit comfortably. The experience itself was pretty amazing and the competition was entertaining! We loved the show. Just be advised that seating close to the show is not as comfortable as the seats that are about 5 rows back. We will definitely be going if it comes back into town. We loved it.

  • Breathtaking sport

by Arik on 3/4/20North Charleston Coliseum - North CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

This kind of sport is keeping you alert the whole time. It was amazing to see this young man riding in over 1000 lb bull. It is fun to the whole family event and better live then on tv.

  • This show was lit. Can't wait til next year

by M on 3/3/20North Charleston Coliseum - North CharlestonRating: 4 out of 5

We love watching rodeos & bull riding on tv all the time. Our 1 year old loves watching it on tv & loves watching it in person. We would definitely go back again to watch this PBR. Family members of all ages would like this show if they are into this type of entertainment.
