This was my first PVD conert. I loved it because it was outdoors and the music was great and they had an area where one could sit. Never mind that they had too few toilettes and the wait was literraly an hour long...
This Concert was amazing. I had a great time, the sound was just perfect. This guy know how to make good sound and a nice show! Purchasing the ticket with Ticketmaster is the second best past! thank you for a great service. Check the videos of Paul Van Dyk, Live @ Central Park, Ago 29th 2009.
The most amazing outdoor concert experience! The venue, the band, the lighting, the graphics on screen and of course PAUL!
I have seen pvd at central park, amongst many other places, every year since he started back in '03, this was hands down the most AMAZING set he has ever spun there, he was SO into it this year. Sometimes when he spins he gets very serious and has little interaction with the crowd, but he was chillin with us last night! Everything was perfect, the sound was awesome, the lights were amazing, it didn't even rain - i kinda wished it would for a minute though, the 2 back up guys he had with the drums rocked it - and that dude who sings time of our lives has a really good live singing voice, he was spot on singing live to a dj. Anyway i have seen pvd all over the world & must say he f'in KILLED it last night!! I HEART PAUL VAN DYK
From beginning to end the concert was great, as always the music was out of this world, the lights, the people and no rain!!!! what else can you as for... And at the end a song only for New York, Mr. Paul Van Dyk... thank you for that concert!!!!

Great performance by the master in electronic/dance music Paul van Dyk. The idea of the percussionists was also great. The appearance of John McDaid was suprisingly good.
Been a huge fan of PvD for years, seen him live in NYC the last 5 years in addition to Ultra and other misc events. Was psyched to see him live this year and was totally let down. The live drummers he had playing with him messed up the beats and completely ruined the show. PvD has never let me down before, always had amazing shows but my friends and I walked out more than an hour early on this one, it was horrible. It was very clear the real long-term PvD fans in the audience were very disappointed with this show - I spoke with more than 10 people who agreed. PvD - if you're reading this, you're a musical genius and I like to see you exploring new things but please, ditch those drummers and give us your classic amazing PvD trance. We missed YOU last night. Will see you New Years Eve in NYC at the Roseland, I hope your back to yourself by then.

This seemed like a disappointing show. The drummer and percussionist would have been fine for an hour or so, but not the whole set. Plus, they seemed out of sync with Paul some of the time. I went to hear Paul's music, not second-rate drumming.
The Sunshine theatre is an icon in my town. Some really good acts come and perform here all the time. But a show like his deserves a much larger scene. there was really not enough space to get busy and jam out the way that you should at that type of show. Its really hard to do the Melborne shuffle inside a sardine can. Then I thought, well maybe there's not enough people in this town to fill a larger venue. But since then, I've been to three raves with acts that have nothing on PVD, and the scene was BANANAS! So I think that if you build it, they will come. there are at least two other larger, well equiped spots in the area that would have made for an awesome event. Still, the scene was safe, chill, and Paul showed us a great time. Thanks for bringing him out. I hope to see more house in the house in the future.
went to see paul van dyk.. bottom line, the show sucked. in fact, my friends and i didnt even stick around to see van dyk play. the opening djs played for way too long, there was a mess of weirdos in the crowds, and my friend got sick from this odd mixture of smoke flowing through the venue. would definitely fight to get my money back. so not work the 100 bucks!
I thought he'd play more notable tunes while here but I guess he had to play to the crowd. Where I live now (Albuquerque, NM) the crowd likes more house it seems. I'm a huge Trance fan and would have liked to hear more of that genre. Go Robert Nickson!! Also the soundstage hands had the VOLUME cranked WAY TOO LOUD. I couldn't enjoy it soo much cause my ears were killing me. It was impossible to hear the person next to me nor a thing for the next 2 days. There's really no need to have it at that volume, don't you think? They need to sell ear plugs at these events.
PVD was AMAZING!!!!! I bought these tickets for my husband as a fathers day present!!!!! He thought it was amazing and danced like he was 20 all over again!!!!!!
Awesome DJ! Even saw him in LA a week after! :) At the EDC! I'd go see him in a heartbeat again!
paul van dyk was freakin awesome...i still cant believe i was actually there watchin paul van dyk mixing.. i loved it
From beggining to end this show was a rave. The music went from good and maybe 10 people actually dancing to amazing and getting the building shakin in a matter of hours. Paul Van Dyk took the stage at the Rave on June 21st and it was AMAZING. We arrived and the previous djs were laying out the downbeats and loops, a chick had gotten herself on stage and was "dancing" and we started to dance ourselves. I must say the chick on stage kinda reuined it a bit for me cuz she COULDNT DANCE. It was sad, but ultimately that disappointment disappeared when i saw the reflection of paul van dyk's face behind the screen. It was so much fun watching him rock out like we were and have fun doing what he does best. Overall, this was a great event that I would suggest to anyone. I am excited for the techno beatz to return once again on new years and cannot wait to see an amazing artist like Paul again. :)
Excellent sets by both PVD and the opening DJ. Everyone seemed to enjoy the show, and the drugged out 'raver' kiddies weren't out in force.
Totally disappointed. Listening to random dj's for 4 hours straight and then Van Dyk performed only for like an hour, played new tracks. Would not go again.
