PAUL RODGERS IN CONCERT:

Legendary British rocker Paul Rodgers has one of the most impressive voices in rock music. From his time fronting bands like Free and Bad Company to his recent stint singing with Queen, Rodgers has remained a legend for his tough-as-nails voice and colorful showmanship. On tour in 2013, he made it clear that time has done nothing to mellow his vocal prowess, flooring fans with classic hits from his catalog alongside soul covers that showcased his prodigious range. With a new album due out in 2014, Rodgers is in peak form for his upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Middlesborough, UK, Paul Rodgers found early fame as frontman of British blues rock band Free, the outfit behind 1970 classic rock staple and international No. 1 "All Right Now." While the band's commercial success at one point rivaled that of Led Zeppelin, their star waned, and in 1973 Rodgers founded supergroup Bad Company with members of Mott the Hoople and King Crimson. With Rodgers at the helm, Bad Company enjoyed tremendous success throughout the '70s and early '80s, releasing six platinum albums and racking up some of the most beloved classic rock hits of the era. Following his departure from the band in 1982, Rodgers has continued to record and perform as a solo artist, as well as embark on a five-year collaboration with Queen from 2004-2009.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Paul Rodgers was simply fantastic. Entire band rocked! I never sat down during entire concert. The guy sounds better now than he did 30 years ago."

"His voice was amazing. Like time traveling Bad Company and Free heydays. I would see him again definitely."

"As usual Paul Rogers put on a smokin' show. He really plays for the crowd and you can tell he enjoys it. The voice is as good as ever covering all the hits from his past bands."

    Better than Ever

by EnergyGirl on 7/5/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

Touching over 42 years of his catalog, Paul Rodgers was superb in AC! We were treated to a sample of Paul's greatest hits from Free, Bad Company and The Firm. Deep cuts such as Walk in my Shadow and Mr. Big from Free,to the timeless Shooting Star and Ready for Love from Bad Company and treated then treated to Closer from his time with Jimmy Paige and the Firm were executed pefectly and sparked energy into the audience. His voice is better than ever and his solo band with Howard Leese as musical director and lead guitar were pretty tight. Paul Rodgers is not to be missed.

Paul Rodgers still has the chops !!

by Lucasdigger on 7/5/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

Great set at the AC Hilton. Paul still has an amazing voice and the band was tight. Played all of Bad Co's biggest, a few Free hits, one from the Firm (not Radioactive - thank God) and Little Wing with a nod to Jimi. Very intimate sized venue but they rocked it. Good lighting and sound. Thanks Paul for a memorable show.

    You wanna Rock?

by Chohoho on 7/4/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

The show was tremendous! When I walked in and saw the stage I was ready. I've seen the DVD but this was so awesome! Paul & Co. rocked the house! The drummer a bass player cooked. and of course the guitars. The man works magic on the vocals and swings that microphone stand like no other. (Robert Plant is close but not as bad!) Small venue- GA got me 12 row center. Must have been 2000 seats or less. My ears were bleeding and I was loving it!

by muggs01 on 7/4/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

This concert was ass kickin from the start. What a great entertainer he is. I'd go back today if he was still there. Great venue not a bad seat in the house, I'll keep my eye out for other shows to see at the Atlantic City Hilton.

    Paul Rodgers

by Taxigirl24 on 7/4/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

Paul was as dry as toast to his fans. He's all about the money. If your not part of his tour...He won't meet & greet you. You have to donate to his chairites for him to sign anything. He's outgrown himself. I'm no longer a fan. Not my Rock & Roll fantasy anymore. He needs to treat the people who made his career better. Go see Eddie money....born in the USA....loves his fans.

Paul Rodgers still my hero, but Hilton sucks

by Jeannina on 7/4/11Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

So disappointing - acoustics so bad we couldn't even hear Paul Rodgers singing. Very insulting to this icon to have to endure such amateur accommodations. We will continue to follow Paul Rodgers to the end of the earth, but we will never return to the Hilton in Atlantic City.

    Paul Rogers Still Rocks

by Samiam on 6/30/11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The concert was amazing. He still rocks and seems to have so much fun doing it. HIs voice seems to get better with age. Third time seeing him, first was at the first Stars and Stripes festival in Mount Clemens Michigan- absolutely tore the place up. Second with Bad Company and that was amazing as well. If he is anywhere near my area I'll definitely go see him again and again. Did songs from Free, Bad Company and even some Jimmy Hendrix! The Colosseum left a lot to be desired as a concert venue though. Rude security was one complaint I heard over and over. Seating was not so great for many in the crowd too. Even my front row tickets were a bit too far to the left of the stage and there was another entire section left of us. Not a good set up for a concert.

A strong show. Paul played a little less then 2 hours. He covered songs from his Free days as well as Bad Company. He sounds great and moves all around the stage. The band was in good form as well.

Perhaps it's our age, but it seems the level of bass and the overall volume level were both excessive. Could have been our seats in the third row stage left that contributed to this impression as well. Paul Rodgers doesn't seem to have lost a beat, although the wife and I both enjoyed watching the DVD at home more than the live event.

    Paul Rodgers, A Great Time.

by JOEBARRY on 7/7/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Paul Rodgers is the best rock singer perfoming some of the greatest rock songs of all time. He brings an infectious enthusiasm to the stage that makes the place go crazy. He also surrounds himself with a band dedicated to playing every song at the highest level, giving it everything they have. This show was phenomenal. Everybody had a great time. I would have preferred more "Free" music mixed in.

    Paul Rodgers

by fishercat on 7/7/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Paul Rodgers put on an excellent show as expected. He did a mix of Bad Company, Free, and solo album tunes. On guitar was Howard Leese formerly of the band Heart, Lyn Sorenson on bass, drummer (not known). He had a full house at this venue. The crowd was going crazy on such songs as "Rock Steady", "Don't You Know (that you are a superstar), "I Feel Like Making Love", "Bad Company", and "Fire and Water". You could tell he has been doing this for a very long time. He was very natural on stage and knew how to work the crowd. I would definately go see him again. Hopefully at the same venue. We had a great time.

    Paul Rodgers does it again

by Steve525 on 7/7/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Once again Paul Rodgers puts on an unforgettable show to a capacity audience. Right from the opening number and through the extended encore, he had the audiences complete and undivided attenion. Every song sounded fantastic and Pauls voice sounded stronger than ever. A must see show for anyone. The best. Ernie and the Automatics as an opening act was a suprise for me and a pleasant one at that. One of the best opening acts I have seen in a long time. I would pay to see them as a headliner anytime. Their original music was simply awesome even though I had never heard them before. And then to end with a Boston tribute was out of this world. They had the crowd on their feet. Just an amazing sound. Five stars

    Paul Rodgers

by Metalskin on 7/6/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Ernie and the Automatics, the opening act were fantastic! It was a real treat to get a Boston medley of songs and then to get the VOICE Mr. Paul Rodgers was simply the icing on the cake! Paul is great no matter who he sings and plays with, Howard Leese, Lynn Sorenson, Queen, Slash Brian May, Neal Schon any of those guys! Paul proved yet again he is probably the greatest rock/ blues vocalist ever!! He can and does sing anything and he did it again bringing Jimmy Hendrix 's Little Wing again to a level never seen or heard quite like it before except when he recorded the Hendrix Set. One point of criticism was that the amplifyer level was set way too high and the volume really muffled the full tenor of his voice at times so it seemed that he was competing with the guitar for projection. A guy like Paul Rodgers NEEDS to be heard over the instrumentals. a venue like Hampton Beach casino ballroom doesn't need the same sound level as a Stadium. Its more of a beer hall/ intimate setting where the acoustics really are much more geared to project well with less amp. I'm going to see Bad Co. on the 27th at the Bank of America Pavillion in Boston. Can't wait! Rock it Paul!

Paul Rodgers was everything I hoped for.

by Anonymous on 7/6/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Great take - played the songs I was hoping that they would. His voice sounds the same as when they cut the first album. Guitarists were super, and good performers too.

Paul Rodgers puts on the best concert!

by Bobbyro on 7/6/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton Beach

Paul Rodgers at the Hampton Beach Club Casino was the best concert of the summer so far. You recognize every song they play. His band was great. The only big hit they didn't play was Silver Blue, and Gold. I love that song, but they don't do it live very often. Feel Like Making Love, Bad Company, Run With The Pack, Can't Get Enough, Shining Star and Free's, All Right Now came out awesome. Ernie and the Automatics were great. They did a memorable Boston medley. Band members Barry Goudreau and Sib Hashem were from the band Boston. Brian Maes is the lead singer and keyboard player. He was in RTZ with Brad Delp and Barry. Overall a great show!
