    Room for improvement

by TSW on 5/31/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

The stage was not up high enough and anyone in GA was not able to see. I had chairs and if I had not had early entry I would not have been able to see. Once we stood up even though I was closer to the front of chairs you could not see them on stage only only large tv. The price of the tickets you should have been able to at least see the stage in GA. Over all the process after the first night in the scope everyone knew where to send people. Emails about where to go were helpful. I did like it better than when it was in VA Beach.

View was terrible for the $300+ paid for tickets

by Taylor on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

We were unable to see from the General Admission street location on Waterside when we paid over $300 for. Our group left the venue and was able to see better and enjoy the concert more at the Sheraton parking lot. Great food and cleaner restrooms. The festival needs to return back to Virginia Beach to accommodate the crowd or do not charge for general admission street location. Wish we could get a refund.

    Just eh.

by Taylor on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Loved the performers and had a great time ! BUT sound was awful in general admission & there was one one screen to view the stage. Definitely needs a better and bigger venue & More planning. Yes it was the first year at waterside, but definitely enjoyed it more on the beach.

    Patriotic Festival

by Zach on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Overall fun concert. The setup of the event made it very hard to see the stage or screens if you were in general admission, it didn’t even feel like you were at a concert. The chairs section was good after they fixed the speaker issue where the echo was so bad you couldn’t understand the words. It was still hard to see the stage in the chairs section. It would be nice to have more food vendors and bathrooms- the line for these was ridiculously long. We enjoyed the heavy police presence and the value put on the safety of the event. Hopefully they can figure out a way to switch up the layout for next year to improve the concert experience for those in the chairs and general admission

    Decent

by Jen J on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

The pit experience was great for a great price. I did hear that anyone not in the pit had a pretty bad experience. The speakers weren’t even that loud in the pit area. Also the catwalk was very tall, so if you’re standing on one side you can’t really see when they walk to the other side, and it made the performers have a hard time interacting with the crowd. But overall the idea was a great message, and the people who put it on were nice and energetic. Just some kinks to work out for next year.

First time going to Patriotic Festival

    by Tuck22 on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

First night was a mess and people from the event were scrambling not knowing what to do. Our tickets were VIP Chair, yet the chairs were SO FAR back. There was not enough people in VIP Pit so the overall space was so misused. VIP Pit and chalets had their own food stands(plural), etc. while VIP chair had 1 food truck with lines circling to the portapotty and gate, the 1 beverage stand we had with 5 registers was running out of drinks before the event even started at 7pm. Portapotties had no toilet paper and water etc. Better use of space, have the chalet tickets available upon pre-sale because most of us found out about them day of*, more food and beverage stands, as well as more military things around like nine line stands etc were not IN the event. Security was amazing, as well as leaving the concert, they directed traffic in an amazing manner! Crowd control was great. Artists were great!

    Disappointing.

by Smoke on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

After years at the oceanfront on the beach, with great views from all seats and great sound. This long street setup required more jumbotrons or binoculars. Add in that the speaker setup was poorly designed and inadequate to say the least. Sitting near the back of the VIP Seated area provided no view of the stage, too far away, and sound so poor you could talk louder. I have attended every Patriot Festival but i think this was my last. :(

    General admission

by Wallen fan on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

You stand in the street blocks away from the actual stage. Similar to Times Square for new year. Bad views, can’t hear live, could’ve watched in on the television and felt the same. Disappointed!

    Great performer terrible venue

by Hanna D on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Morgan wallen was everything I ever wished for, however the venue was absolutely terrible. For $300 tickets you could not see anything not even the stage at all. It was hard to hear during most of the concert and they ran out of beer buckets to buy ice. BRING PATRIOTIC FESTIVAL BACK TO THE BEACH!

    Definitely not worth a dime!

by Kris on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

This event was terrible at best. General admission should have been free!!! You couldn't see the stage from the front of general admission even if you squinted. The first two openings for Kane Brown weren't shown. Instead they were playing commercials. Trees covered the view of the TV's that were very small. People who didn't pay $260 a ticket got a better show by just going to the restaurants. We were in the pit for Morgan Wallen because I was able to get additional tickets. That was great.... but still doesn't take away from the fact the the entire venue was a disaster. I will never go back unless the festival is moved back to the oceanfront.

Would not go back to a show at this venue.

by Chelsea on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Artist were good, sets were short. Sound was awful, couldn't hear anything in the chair section (better the third night). Not a good location for concert.

    Needs improvement!!

by Jen W. on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Seating layout was awful !! Even in VIP chairs we were so far away from stage . Way too much room given for pit tickets !! Sound for Kane Brown concert was horrible ! Need to add more speakers and screens throughout for all those not in Pit seats . Also only one food truck per section was ridiculous!! We waited in line each night for over an hour to get food!! Definitely need to make lots of changes next year for how much we paid for these tickets !!

Awful sound and not enough food

by Virginia Country Girl on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

The sound was not set up right for the people in the VIP chairs. You could barely hear what the performers were saying or singing on Saturday night. Then to have only one food truck for all the chair section was crazy. My husband waited over an hour in the line. There should have been at least three food trucks for that number of people. A lot of improvements need to be made if they have the festival again in Norfolk.

    Terrible venue setup

by Holly on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

General admission area was the most terrible viewing I have ever experienced during a concert. I frequently go to concerts and this was unbelievably bad! We couldn’t even see the screen let alone the stage. We also couldn’t hear the performers, the music from the bars were louder. Will never go again or recommend!

    Meh

by Nora no on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Jon Pardi surroundings and pit zone was awful. People were over served and there was next to zero security. People vaped entirely too much inside and it was miserable.

    ok

by Cam on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

paid TOO much money for the experience to be so limited. although i Love the event being in Norfolk, I believe the The festival was done better at the ocean front and was more inclusive of all ticket holders not just the pit. General admission was ideally listening to music and staring at a tree.

    Great artists, bad venue

by David on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

I absolutely loved all of the artists!!! They put on as good of a show as they could for the venue that was provided. The venue was a absolute disaster. I paid for General Admission chair seating, and im so glad i did! I actually feel bad for whoever paid more than $1 for GA Standing. You actually could not see the stage at all, and the big screen they had was blocked by signs. Not to mention there was a terrible echo because we were in between a bunch of apartments and hotels. Even the line just to get into the place was unorganized, there was an early entry that you could pay for, but you stood in the same line as people who didnt pay for it so they kept yelling for early entry people to go to the front, instead of just having a separate line. There should never be another event at that location without ALOT more thought put into it. The chairs we were seated in were CHEAP white folding chairs zip tied together so you were elbow to elbow with a bunch of other people.

    Awesome event.

by Rodie on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

Ticket purchase & concert access was easy. The best line-up ever, my favorite performers at one event, I was in heaven. They gave awesome performances. 1 minor complaint, there was only 1 food vendor, lines were over an hour wait to get food.

    The fest

by Russ on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

I was highly disappointed at the audio quality and the fact I couldn’t see anything due to obstacles.

Performers tried but hard to overcome a terrible VENUE

by Steere on 5/30/22Norfolk Downtown Waterfront/Waterside Drive - Norfolk

The first night was okay but actually the sound was too loud inside the scope arena. Otherwise not bad at all. The second and third nights were outside and a disaster. We paid for the VIP Chair section and couldn’t hear the music on Saturday night. Kane Brown even commented on the lackluster production mid show. At one point the middle section erupted into a chant “TURN IT UP” because it was so quiet. The general admission people had no chance of seeing the big screens let alone the performers. The next night was a little louder as they added speakers but still not concert loud. Again we were just in the middle of a street with no incline. Anyone not in the $500 ticket range had no view of the performers. Most people in the CHAIR section actually stood on their plastic chair to see. General admission again, could have watched online for a better show as they couldn’t even see the stage. Poor planning and production. The opening acts were few and far between for a “ FESTIVAL”…..3 opening acts total for three headliners. Ultimately was a Waste of our money, wouldn’t recommend!!
