About

As the first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the BIllboard 200, Pantera became overnight torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that shows no signs of slowing . In 2013, Pantera frontman, Phil Anselmo, and bassist, Rex Brown, reunited and joined Anthrax on stage at the Revolver Golden God Awards show. Performing "This Love" from their 1992 album "Vulgar Display of Power," Anselmo's voice reminded fans of the unbridled brutality the band was capable of in its heyday. The energy Pantera crammed into their live act cannot be measured by any earthly means. The shredding licks of Dimebag Darrel, backed by Vinnie Paul's solid, world-shattering drums rounded out a power-packed concert that was everything American metal should be. The band treated ticket holders to speed metal of a truly high caliber, as entire arenas seemed to erupt in torrents of high-speed thrashing to a Texas-bred cacophony that was anything but ordinary.

When Anselmo joined the band in 1987, and the band released their breakthrough album 1990's "Cowboys From Hell," little remained of their glam and hair metal origins, and replacing those was an entirely fresh, raw presence that had no equal. After releasing "Vulgar Display of Power" in 1992, Pantera toured with tremendous success. The shocking assassination of Dimebag Darrell in 2004 sadly put an end to any hopes of a reunion, but the memory lives on in singles like "Mouth for War" and "Walk," both from "Vulgar Display of Power." Vulgar's follow-up, "Far Beyond Driven," topped its predecessor with even more raw thunder. Pantera will be remembered as a band that ushered in the new thrash, for nothing was ever the same after they arrived. As they may very well be the fathers of modern metal, they were truly greater than the sum of their parts.

    Excellent Concert!!!

by KixFan on 2/27/24CFG Bank Arena - Baltimore

I took my daughter who is now 16, and she completely loved it. Pantera was just excellent and the lead singer just came across to such a good person. He was so thankful for the crowd and for everybody coming. The music was excellent. My daughter did not stop jumping up and down. It was my first time to the Baltimore Arena and access was very easy from 295. I highly recommend this venu. Parking was very easy at the Arena Garage, connected to the arena. Lamb of God and S.N.A.F.U. were also very good.

by JJ on 2/26/24Madison Square Garden - New York

All 3 bands went on exactly at their scheduled time. Lamb of God and Pantera were absolutely amazing. And the staff at MSG is the nicest staff anywhere. (Not my first time here either-they always are nice.)

    Awesome

by Hooch Man on 2/26/24Van Andel Arena - Grand Rapids

I've seen Pantera a couple times on this tour, FL and MI and neither were a disappointment. The venue in Sunrise, FL was top notch, and went far beyond expected to ensure we were happy. Smooth and easy entry with barcode scanning.

by VK on 2/26/24Madison Square Garden - New York

I was so excited to see Pantera and LOG come to town. They did not disappoint. An unforgettable experience for me as an aging metal fan. Brought me back to when I was a teenager headbanging to the vulgar album.

by iceprincess1984 on 2/25/24Madison Square Garden - New York

The seats were very comfortable and we had an amazing view. The show was phenomenal!!!! We saw them at MetLife in August and this was a million times better. The sound was very clear and all three acts put on an amazing show. The energy in the stadium was incredible and infectious. Definitely would love to see them at the Garden again.

    Pantera @ MSG

by Chris81877 on 2/25/24Madison Square Garden - New York

I saw the classic line up of Pantera in ‘99,opening for Black Sabbath on their first Reunion Tour. It was a negatively memorable experience. I have now seen them twice with Zakk and Charlie, and both time were amazing. Pantera will never have the classic line up again, but,so many other bands won’t either (Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer,Anthrax…to name a few.) It’s all about the music and how well the performance is. Check out the tour because the music and performance is well worth it.
