About

As the first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the BIllboard 200, Pantera became overnight torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that shows no signs of slowing . In 2013, Pantera frontman, Phil Anselmo, and bassist, Rex Brown, reunited and joined Anthrax on stage at the Revolver Golden God Awards show. Performing "This Love" from their 1992 album "Vulgar Display of Power," Anselmo's voice reminded fans of the unbridled brutality the band was capable of in its heyday. The energy Pantera crammed into their live act cannot be measured by any earthly means. The shredding licks of Dimebag Darrel, backed by Vinnie Paul's solid, world-shattering drums rounded out a power-packed concert that was everything American metal should be. The band treated ticket holders to speed metal of a truly high caliber, as entire arenas seemed to erupt in torrents of high-speed thrashing to a Texas-bred cacophony that was anything but ordinary.

When Anselmo joined the band in 1987, and the band released their breakthrough album 1990's "Cowboys From Hell," little remained of their glam and hair metal origins, and replacing those was an entirely fresh, raw presence that had no equal. After releasing "Vulgar Display of Power" in 1992, Pantera toured with tremendous success. The shocking assassination of Dimebag Darrell in 2004 sadly put an end to any hopes of a reunion, but the memory lives on in singles like "Mouth for War" and "Walk," both from "Vulgar Display of Power." Vulgar's follow-up, "Far Beyond Driven," topped its predecessor with even more raw thunder. Pantera will be remembered as a band that ushered in the new thrash, for nothing was ever the same after they arrived. As they may very well be the fathers of modern metal, they were truly greater than the sum of their parts.

    Great show šŸ¤˜

by Smoky McPott on 2/29/24Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Would recommend to anyone that loves Metal, only think to make it perfect would have been hearing all of Domination and Cemetery gates. Otherwise everything and everyone was on point, especially Lamb of God (always love seeing these guys). Keep up the great work guys

Great sound and well-organized. Overall, I am satisfied but I could not take smokers. Please do something to regulate these people. How would I bring my kids?

Lamb of God and Pantera Do Not Disappoint!

by Jenn on 2/29/24Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I attended the concert at Molson Amphitheatre last Summer, and although I liked that one better, this is still a 5-star experience. LoG and Pantera make sure you get your full ticket's worth of a show. They changed the lineup of songs a little, which is cool, but the energy and vibes were the same - rockin' hard!

Great show! Not so great venue

by Mosh pit on 2/29/24Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

All three bands put in an amazing performance! Had a blast in the mosh pit and went home bruised and happy šŸ¤˜ The venue was a little lack luster. They had the standing/general admission sectioned off quite small compared to similar shows Iā€™ve been to at big stadiums. I saw several people lose their wristbands in the mosh pit and when they tried to get a replacement one to get back into their section, they were kicked out of the venue all together (including one guy who had the extra vip package) for how expensive the cost of this show was I would hope that there would be either a better system to avoid this out come for people, or at least a more robust wrist band.

    Incredible show

by Kk on 2/28/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Pantera delivered a fantastic show. The audience was fully into it, jumping and headbanging. The mosh pit was going crazy. It was an evening to remember, celebrating the brothers. There was so much love in the air between band and audience. Among my favorite metal concerts.

    Legendary Show

by Anna on 2/27/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Seeing Pantera tribute bring the legacy of iconic riffs to headline the stage at MSG was epic. Second time seeing them live, and it gets better and better. I will most definitely be attending every time they are in the tri-state area.

After so many years, glad to see Pantera again!

by travistein71 on 2/27/24CFG Bank Arena - Baltimore

Definitely a great show at CFG Arena in Baltimore. The last time I saw Pantera live was probably in the early 90s at an OzzFest. I missed them in VA this past fall due to work, but couldn't pass up this chance to see them so close to home. While it's not the original lineup, Zakk and Charlie were fantastic in the own rights, as expected. Phil and Rex are still killing it all these years down the road. Truly a great show. The only downsides for me were: (1) the staff at the venue split the line outside into like six separate lines after waiting for nearly an hour to enter. All of a sudden, instead of having 20 people or so in front of you, you have over 100. Not cool! and (2) the security in front of the stage were great, but between them and the camera staff/individual photographers/local media, it was really distracting and your sight lines were blocked for about three songs of each set, with sporadic issues throughout. I've been to hundreds of live shows and this was definitely one of the busiest ever in that regard.
