Panic! At the Disco In Concert

One of pop's most exciting live acts, Panic! At the Disco has long commanded stages around the world with their vibrant, passionate performances. The band first stepped onto a stage in 2005 after recording their debut album, ‘A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.' They proved to be even more dynamic on stage than in the studio, and began a long round of touring by 2006, including their Nothing Rhymes with Circus tour, which involved an elaborate setup of dance numbers and skits. As each release has become more ambitious, so have their live shows. Frontman Brendon Urie remains a magnetic leader, playing both the untouchable rock star and the showstopping theatrical performer. You may even be lucky enough to see him effortlessly pull off Queen's mega-classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," which he performed during the Death of a Bachelor tour and Pray for the Wicked tour.

Panic! At the Disco Background

Panic! At the Disco started innocently enough among four teenagers from the Las Vegas suburbs. Vocalist and guitarist Brendon Urie, guitarist Ryan Ross, drummer Spencer Smith, and bassist Brent Wilson came together in 2004 and began using Smith's grandmother's living room as a space to practice playing blink-182 songs. They decided to call themselves Panic! At the Disco, a line plucked from a song called "Panic" by California rock band Name Taken. Soon they were writing their own pop-punk tunes and sending demos to Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. Though most of the band was still in high school and they had yet to perform a live show, Wentz signed them immediately to his new Fueled by Ramen imprint label Decaydance Records. Their debut album, ‘A Fever You Can't Sweat Out,' was unleashed to the world in September 2005. First single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" landed on the Billboard Hot 100, and by 2006 they were already headlining tours. In 2008, they returned with the more psychedelic ‘Pretty. Odd.' The following year, both Ross and Jon Walker (who'd replaced Wilson on bass in 2006) departed the group, but Urie and Smith stayed on as a duo and released 2011's ‘Vices & Virtues.' Going forward, Panic! continued to heavily experiment with their sound. Hip-hop and dance styles were woven into 2013's ‘Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!' which would be the last record to feature Smith on drums. From that point on, Urie would remain the only original member. He continues to push boundaries as the steady frontman of Panic!, letting the band's sound further evolve with 2016's ‘Death of a Bachelor' and 2018's ‘Pray for the Wicked.

New to the Disco - Will go back again!

by KewlGuy on 5/28/11Tabernacle - Atlanta

Never really liked Panic until Vices and Virtues and heard the album on a whim...must say, I dont know much about the "line-up change," but the show was great. Not sure what some of the hate is for (maybe older fans who dont like the new direction) but the show fit the sound of Vices and Virtues. Beautiful stage setup and an hour of total music by them was perfect (any more and it would be overkill and I bet Panic is aware of this). Lead singer went to the balcony to sing "Always," which was really kewl...the whole show is entertaining and worth the cost and time. And there cover of "Carry on My Wayward Son"...amazing. Felt like I was alive in the 70s and saw Kansas live myself. Truly talented group with more potential and I've seen bands from Flaming Lips, Fall Out Boy, System of a Dow, the Roots, etc...

    on-stage persona change

    by unimpressed21312543 on 5/26/11Terminal 5 - New York

band completely changed their on-stage persona from faux-beatles to angsty tweeny band. i know that's their audience, but give me a break. also, play for more than an hour. you only have 3 albums. that's, what, 30 songs? play more of them. and you're not as good as you think you are. also, Carry On My Wayward Son is a classic. not a song that would only be known because of Rock Band 3. side note: i've seen Panic! twice before this and loved them. both times.

If you have never seen Panic!, you must. Brendon was incredible and his dancing was amazing and it was an INCREDIBLE concert. ! I had the time of my life. Even if everyone was pushing like there was no tomorrow on the main floor. Hot as hell but so damn worth it. P!ATD gives a hell of show!

    Little teenage hooligans

by Bladesworn on 5/26/11Terminal 5 - New York

I was chaperoning a young girl to see the show at Terminal 5. The line outside seemed nice, but as soon as you entered the venue, pushing, shoving, & insanity erupted. Girls (& some guys) were fighting for spots on the floor & upstairs in the balcony. As the show progressed, it just kept getting worse. The young girl I was chaperoning got punched in the face by another girl for "shoulder/arm" space. I spoke with security, but they did nothing & tried to brush the incident away. Horrible service from them. I logged an incident report with the police & now speaking with a lawyer about the whole incident. Never go to Terminal 5.

The openers, Fun and Foxy Shazam were perfect for Panic at the Disco. The props and lighting affects really added to the show and they were just fun and entertaining bands to watch; they were very animated. The venue was very nice too. They had seating where we waited in line for part of the time and they made sure to give a lot of free water out during the show to those in front. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is that there were too many young teenage girls who thought they needed to shove all the way up front.

Panic! At The Disco put on a GREAT show!

by dakaim on 5/26/11Terminal 5 - New York

Did not like their first opening band, Foxy Shazam, but enjoyed their second band fun. When Panic came out it was great from start to finish. I even liked their cover of Kansas "Carry On My Wayward Son". I bought the tickets to surprise my 15 year old daughter for her birthday and she LOVED IT!

    Best Show ive been to.

by ohburruriediculous on 3/16/11The Bowery Ballroom - New York City

Panic! at the disco was ridiculously amazing at their first show of 2011. They had SO much energy & they were definitely feed off of our energy as well. Even when we demanded for an encore they were happy to do so. I was lucky enough to get a chance to meet Brendon & Spencer & was so grateful that they took time to meet us all for as long as they did. It was different from any other meet & greet they ever did before & we all loved the personal one on one time we go with each of the boys. Too amazing to fit into words. It didn't feel like a concert, it was more like a celebration.

Walk The Moon was an incredible opening act, and converted me into a fan. Panic! was truly incredible. Their setlist was flawless, the cover of 'Science Fiction/Double Feature' was perfect, and the steampunk girls and guys walking around were a great addition to the stage show.

by JEANineSo on 3/4/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

This show was so great! It was a small venue, so you were able to get really close to the stage. They played a couple of songs from each album and at the end Brendon jumped into the crowd. AMAZING!!! Great show!

I love Brendon Urie!!!! Brendon was at his total best that night!!! I am still excited since that night, I just adore them and their music was amazing!!! I would like for opening acts to only play up to 3 songs and leave so I can listen to Panic! more!!! When Brendon surfed the crowd, it was so exciting!! I can't believe I touched him and spoke to me in the concert, I was the one that said, "Get Naked!!"....<3 Best night of my life.

We All Panicked! At The Disco

by PrettyOdd07 on 3/3/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

Really don't know what to say because at the end of the show I was left speechless. Panic! At The Disco is back and way better than ever. (Ryan and Jon Who?) They performed 3 of their new songs from the upcoming Vices and Virtues CD. The songs are great and really dancy. Brandon and the rest of the band are more playful and open to the crown. I guess they are having more fun with the theatrics and stuff. Even If You're not a fan you would enjoy it.!!!
