About

PAM TILLIS IN CONCERT:

Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Pam Tillis is Nashville born and bred, and her heritage is on full display at her live shows. Tillis boasts an impressive pedigree – her father is famed country singer Mel Tillis, and her boot-stomping performances, exuding plenty of downhome pride and tradition, are the next best thing to a trip to Music City. Taking the stage with an acoustic guitar, Tillis wrings every last drop of emotion from finely crafted cuts like "Maybe It Was Memphis" and "Shake the Sugar Tree." Meanwhile her band whips up a high-energy mix of slide guitar, violin, bass, and drums that perfectly complements her relaxed vocals and unhurried delivery. It's a no-frills country party any time Pam Tillis performs, and ticket buyers are never disappointed by her arresting voice and feel-good stage presence.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Growing up the daughter of a country star, Pam Tillis was immersed in the Nashville music scene from the get-go. She made her singing debut at the Grand Ole Opry at age 8, and by her teens she was writing songs and playing the piano and guitar. She cut her teeth in the early '70s penning tunes for artists like Gloria Gaynor and Chaka Khan, and in 1981 she signed to Warner Bros. Records. Her 1983 debut album didn't make much of an impact, but she found chart success mid-decade with a string of non-album singles including "Those Memories of You" and "There Goes My Love." She signed to Arista Nashville in 1989, kicking off a successful period that included the Top 10 albums Put Yourself in My Place (1991) and Sweetheart's Dance (1994), the latter of which contained her first No. 1 single "Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)." Since then she's remained prolific, touring extensively and impressing fans with albums like 2013's Dos Divas, a celebrated collection of duets recorded with Lorrie Morgan.

    Pam Tillis

    by Shar on 8/12/23

Loved her performance! Loved the venue too. No huge crowds of thousands of people, easy to get in and out, not far from home. Definitely will return some performances in the future.

Pam Tillis is a shining star, inside and out.

    by Vee on 8/12/23

My sister and I went to the dinner and the show. It was a beautiful evening. Even though she was missing her fiddle player and 3rd member due to a medical emergency, she and her piano player put on a top-notch performance. Very intimate and oh my god,she is beautiful, funny, down to earth, engaging, and talented woman. Worth every penny.....loved her!!! The Bridgeview Center was easy access, clean, modern, and all the staff we encountered were polite and seemed sincerely happy to be there and assist you in any way possible.

Show was absolutely the best! Venue was pretty cramped seating and hot, but again, show was great.

    Snippet concert

by Dal on 1/17/23Edgewater E Center - Laughlin

This concert was such a disappointment… they only played about 30 seconds of their songs. It was like a “snipped of our songs” concert. And the volume was really low, we sat in section 5 and could not hear the performers. Very disappointing concert for the amount of money we spent.

Not the show I was expecting

    by Steve-o on 1/17/23Edgewater E Center - Laughlin

When I bought these tickets, I was under the assumption that it was a Lorrie Morgan show, with Pam as an opener. Not a duo “acoustic” set where they both played about 60 seconds of each song. I wouldn’t have bought these tickets. Hats off to these ladies still making it happen at their age. The flyer for this performance seems to have been taken 30 years ago. It’s made to look like a young, fun performance. It was an old, slow one at best.

    Venue, seats and sound

by Old country music fan on 1/17/23Edgewater E Center - Laughlin

Let’s start with the venue. First time being at the Edgewater Entertainment Center in Laughlin,NV and it was disappointing. It’s one of those humongous white tent things. So the flooring was all one level. If you weren’t at the front, you really couldn’t see well over the folks in front of you. The chairs were dirty old restaurant style chairs that were so close together you were snuggled to the person next to you. They were also zip tied together so there was no option of moving them. Either the sound system was not great or the microphones didn’t work well as we ( nearly at the back) couldn’t always hear what was happening. I was disappointed with the music as well. They seemed to only sing maybe half of all the old songs and the entire song of other artists music. Pam Tillis is some funny! The bathrooms were great, no long line ups, getting into the venue was fast The last complaint is that although the “merch” was out and available, they were not allowed to sell anything until after the show…..weird! I would’ve wanted to grab stuff while the line wasn’t long and possibly wear it at the show. Who wants to wait until after the show, in a long line up.

    Enjoyed

by Mom & daughter on 1/17/23Edgewater E Center - Laughlin

It was a fun time but major complaint was we were crammed in there forced to practically sit on top of eachother. They had the seats too close together we were crammed in. I’m on 5’4 & 150pnds and I had zero space. Also I wish there was standing or moving area. It is a concert after all and you were forced to be scrunched in and no dancing or singing or having fun.

    E Pavilion / Edgewater Casino

by warden on 1/17/23Edgewater E Center - Laughlin

One of the best shows I have attended in Laughlin. Nice venue and easy to get in and out of. Great view of the stage from almost anywhere in the building along with monitors/screens on each side of the stage. Excellent performance! The only con would be the metal chairs. They are the most uncomfortable seats I have experienced. The last 1/2 hour was close to unbearable. I will not return.

    Pam Tillis at The Queen

by Tina on 12/21/22The Queen - Wilmington

Pam Tillis did a wonderful show. She did a great job at mixing her classic work with some Christmas tunes. She was so great at sharing some stories and just seemed to be as excited as we were to be there. Such a wonderful night!

What a great intimate concert! Pam Tillis is very personable and related with the audience. She played all her hits then went into a Christmas set that was equally Amazing.

    Fabulous. Perfect in every way.

by Etta Fontaine on 9/27/22Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

Her records came out in the 90s. So one might wrongly guess that she might not be as good any more. I beg to differ, having seen her then and now. Insanely good and I’d venture a maybe even better. She looked amazing and that little speaking voice becomes a powerhouse when she opens her mouth to sing. And I don’t believe she ever missed a note. voice was perfect and she’s a great guitar player. Keyboard player was five stars as was the fiddle player. I didn’t miss a bass player or drums. Not a bit, not for one song. So what was the question? Oh yeah, did I like Pam Tillis? Unbelievable performance. LOVED THE ENTIRE SHOW. Unbelievable harmonies, perfect sound. Perfect venue. What else can I possible say except I’d most definitely see her again. Like, today.

    so so concert

    by j. b. on 10/25/21

Pam still sings great it would have been nice to have a camera feeding the screen so we could see her as well as hear her. Having a poster up during the entire concert sucked. As fans we not only want to hear her but see her as well. That’s why we go to concerts. I get a better concert on my pandora channel or listening to her songs I purchased on my phone.

    Pam Tillis

by AA on 12/10/19Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg - Vicksburg

Awesome show. Small quaint sitting, wonderful at engaging fans. Pam was the star of the show, but the fiddler could easily steal the spotlight! Meet and greet was fun following the show.
