    Paco Pena is a master!

by PaperMoonMusic on 3/1/11Luckman Fine Arts Complex - Los Angeles

This was a terrific show by one of the greatest guitarist of all time. The show included two other guitarists backing up Paco Pena, a cajon player, two singers, and three dancers. Definitely a must-see for all flamenco lovers!

    Paco and friends were amazing

by Tishan10 on 2/28/11Luckman Fine Arts Complex - Los Angeles

The music was passionate and the dancing seductively moving. From the gut wrentching cries of the vocals to the rapid tremolo of Pacos fingers this show was incredible. Thank you. Please come again.

Paco Peña - Asi se toca, canta y baila!

by BlaznFattyz on 2/28/11Luckman Fine Arts Complex - Los Angeles

It was a wonderful display of flamenco. Simply starting at first with the guitarra, and then adding the palm clapping (palmas), castanets (palillos), the wooden box (cajon), footwork (taconeo) and the soulful voices (redonda con mucho duende). It was a nice imaginary trip to Andulasia. The dancing and singing was done by both males and females that gave a nice balance to the show. The venue was nice with a break in between with hot drinks, wine, and snacks. The theater has good acoustics and everything could be heard. Paco is a great guitarist and it was a wonderful experience of simply spanish guitar, accompanied by gypsy singing and dancing.

Beautiful show - but I was disappointed in how it was lit - too dark!

    the best

by piedi on 2/26/11Town Hall - New York

Five stars are not enough. The music and dancing were utterly thrilling. i didn't want it to end. i wish Pena and his company would come to NY more often. They capture soaring emotion in a way no other art form does, and in a way many other companies who call themselves flamenco do not. More, please!

    Relaxing and exciting at once

by Kuling23 on 2/26/11Town Hall - New York

If you like extraordinary guitar sounds, this show is amazing. Just the guitars alone did it for me but, the flamenco dancing was very moving as well.

Let me just say I was blown away by the music, the energy, the colors, and the dancing!!!!!!! This was a show that cannot be compared to anything I've seen so far in my life. I would go again if he comes back with another show. Spectacular and moving, I must say!

    Was a great performance.

by least on 10/3/09Town Hall - New York

Was a great performance. I would have liked more flamenco dances such as the Farrucas, Sevillanas, Rumba flamenca in general more of the original flamenco.. In all it was a great performance at the end a bit too classical which is why I say that more original flamenco would have made the performance evengreater. Lately I noticed that other perfomers are being too classical and are drawing away from the original Flamenco, i.e. Joaquin Cortez.

Paco Pena's Flamenco group was exhiliarating

by wesleygirl on 10/3/09Town Hall - New York

The music and dance together made for an amazing experience. The dancing, in particular, was superb. I sat next to an 81 old Spanish gentleman who used to dance professionally, and he was so happy and moved by the dancing, he couldn't help clapping to rhythm and shouting out. The group seemed to be affected by the audience's enthusiasm as well and gave it their all. It was great!

    Amazing Show at Town Hall

by Blisterbabe on 10/3/09Town Hall - New York

I have been to Spain twice in my lifetime and had the pleasure of seeing 2 very different Flamenco Shows. Both were set in a more intimate setting, while the show I saw last night was more of a show presented- Paco Pena Flamenco could not have provided me with more pleasure or joy. I enjoyed the sound quality - the singing and the dancing. It was also very different then my other shows and that just added to the overall enjoyment. I plan on being back again next year and can only hope for another fabulous evening.
