    Professional Quality Local Community

by Jaycee on 5/28/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The company who performed the ballet is a local group however it was a very professional production. The costumes were great, the dancing was great, the performers were great and hit all their marks. The house was packed and everyone in the audience was fully into it and clapping after each dance. It was a really nice experience and glad that so many people still appreciate ballet and the human quality of seeing live dancers.

Pacific Festival Ballet put on a beautiful performance of Sleeping Beauty. The performance itself was great. The costumes were beautiful. I look forward to their next performance.

    Fantastic performance

by DLM on 12/21/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

I took my mom to see the performance for her 88th birthday celebration. To see her face light up as she watched the performance was a great gift for both of us. Dancers were wonderful, the music perfect, and the venue easy to get in and out of. We loved all the children at the performance. A perfect night for all of us.

by Scargo on 12/21/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The performance was outstanding! The staff were kind and helpful. The parking was easily accessible. I wish I would’ve known that parking outside across from. The theater was available to the public and it’s free. I would definitely go again.

What a great performance by all. One of the best nutcrackers

by Linlimo on 12/20/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Pacific Festival Ballet and all the students at California Dance Theater do an amazing production. The dancers are all so talented, from evergreens to Clara to guest artist Tiler Peck. And it SNOWS! Kim's vision for this great holiday tradition is masterful. With every show selling out, it truly is the ballet of the year to attend.

The couple seated behind us ruined our evening

by OldHouseCollinwood on 12/20/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The show was great if you could hear it. The couple seated behind us where constantly talking during the entire show. Critiquing every move the dancers made. If they weren't talking about the dancers, they were busy patting themselves on the back about their knowledge of ballet. When it came time to applaude they literally screamed, yelled, and clapped so loudly that it actually hurt your ears. I can understand being enthusiastic but this was way way over the top. We are not at a boxing match. I felt sorry for the elderly man next to us. He looked surprised and also in disbelief. Can you imaging paying for the expensive seats to see your granddaughter dance the Nutcracker and have to put up with this? We have looked forward to seeing this show year after year. As we were leaving my husband turned to me and said never again. Maybe the arts center should enforce a one drink maximum to help control these abnoxious classless types. Unbelievable!

    Magical

by Jen T on 12/20/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

This was the most wonderful way to enjoy the holiday season. I took my 2 daughters (10 & 7) and we had front row seats. Not only was it an amazing performance, but sitting front row added a whole new dimension I’ve never experienced. We could see every detail of their costumes & makeup. We could hear how quietly they danced, even when the entire company was on stage, it was still such soft sounds. We were smiling ear to ear soaking it all in the entire performance. It started to snow on stage & then we heard louder snow coming from somewhere else, we looked up to see it snowing on the audience. That was my girls’ favorite part. My favorite were all the solos, getting to focus on each fabulous dancer. It was beyond amazing & we will definitely be going back next year, with our memories of all the details we could see from the front. I can’t say enough good things about it. I danced in the nutcracker in this theater when I was a child, and hadn’t seen it in years. The dancers were all fabulous, so professional & very talented. They brought my favorite classical songs to life.

Best Nutcracker and I have seen so many!

by Lori B. on 12/23/21Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

This production of Pacific Festival Ballet was terrific all around. The dancing from the littlest kids to the NYC ballet principal couple, was wonderful, technical and vibrant! The costumes were beautiful, great colors, and elaborate sets. It was also a really good recording of an orchestra playing the score. I would definitely recommend this very enchanting Nutcracker! There were lots of kids in the audience and they were all quiet, the show was just the right length. Kudos to all that had a hand in that production and I am sure it took a village!

by Camarillo Walt on 12/22/21Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The event was exceptional. The processing at the entry doors was slow resulting in long lines and long wait times to enter the theater.

    amazing

by Jennifer on 12/21/21Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

So, last time I saw the Nutcracker was in 2005 in San Diego. I have been wanting to take my daughter when she was old enough and she is 9 1/2 so I finally took her...went specifically shopping to get a dress for her, read every email that came in regards to Covid etc. I even called the Performing Arts Center and my call was returned within 20 minutes after I left a message asking about the at home Covid tests. (thank you). My daughter and I arrived early, verified vaccination and negative test and got the bracelet to wear. Once the doors opened, we were allowed in and the fun began. There was a beautiful collection of nutcrackers, ornaments, jewelry and zip-up hoodies. There was a large nutcracker which was perfect for taking pictures next to. Also had beverages and chips for purchase at decent prices. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to take our seats, which was fine. Was a great time to people watch and use the facilities. The doors opened and we were showed to our seats by a very nice lady. BTW; everyone that worked Saturday was super nice, friendly and helpful. My daughter made a point to tell everyone she encountered Merry Christmas and it was sweet that the staff returned her greeting. Now, the show.....first half was amazing. However, the second half blew the first half away! My hands hurt from all the clapping, my face hurt from the smile that was plastered on my face and my heart raced as I watched my daughter fall in love w/ ballet. She kept shouting "this is amazing" whenever we all clapped which was met w/ "ahhh" and smiles from those sitting near us. By the time the curtain came down I was in tears! It was so beautiful, magical and perfect! Thank you so much to everyone involved. My daughter wants to go again next year and have this be "our thing". With all the craziness in the world right now, seeing something so beautiful as this ballet has lifted my spirits and reminded me that there is still beauty in the world. A thousand thank yous and a very Merry Christmas!
