    Another step in thrash's revitalization

by ThrashLives on 11/22/10Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Overkill at the Starland Ballroom was simply amazing. An evening filled with a collection of thrash bands chronicling the history of the genre itself. Strong performances from up and coming bands like Evile, Bonded By Blood, and Gamma Bomb set the tone for the evening, only to be put into overdrive by veterans Forbidden and Overkill. The Starland Ballroom itself is a great venue, enough room for people to pack into the pit area, and plenty of seats around the bar for those who want to stay out of harms way. The crowd was electric for this one, but i don't think anybody could of expected any less.

    Go see Overkill

by DocterXacto on 11/22/10Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland

Thrash is still alive and well. I came back from my first ever Overkill concert bloody, bruised, deaf, and voiceless. It was incredible. Six opening bands turned the show into a six hour event, leaving me exhausted but happy.

    Overkill - came to shred

by WARBRINGER on 11/22/10Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Overkill still puts on a great show. Song selection was great and they rocked hard and heavy. Still "got it" after all these years.

    AWESOMENESS!!!

by Alchelle on 11/22/10Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This entire show was absolutely AMAZING!!! I last saw Overkill about 18 years ago in a little bar in Atco NJ. I was a little hesitant about the show since many of the bands that were around in the 80's have fallen to absolute terribleness!!! I was so pleasantly surprised!!! Overkill was just AWESOME!!! I would recommend that anyone who liked them back in the day definitely go check them out again!!! It was worth every penny!

    Overkill KILLED

by AtlantaFiend on 11/21/10Masquerade - Atlanta

When Bobby Blitz came out onto the stage and ran up to the mic, I knew it was going to be a great and unforgettable show. He retained the energy of a young rockstar even though he's 51 year old! The band was at the top of their game and dug right into their metal energy. They began with "The Green and Black" and never lost a bit of energy throughout the entire show. There was crowdsurfing, banging heads all around, and lots of metal love. They played some of my favorite songs like "The Green and Black", "Wrecking Crew", "Give A Little", "Old School" and some others! I loved it soo much.

One word : AWESOME! The only bad thing about the night was not getting a picture with Blitz at the meet & greet.

    Overkill still kicks ass!

    by zappa89 on 11/17/10Firestone Live - Orlando

Overkill played for almost 2 hours and were definately the highlight of the night. Forbidden was cool to see again after about 20 years! I saw them back in the day for the "Twisted Into Form" album. Each of the other 3 bands were tolerable. Didn't care much for Bonded By Blood, but Evile and Gamma Bomb especially were pretty entertaining.

    Overkill was awesome!

by OVrkllforlife on 11/17/10Masquerade - Atlanta

Every band brought great energy but Evile and Overkill were the highlight bands. I had high expectations for Overkill and they exceeded them. I wished they could have played for two more hours! I bought Evile's cd as soon as they finished!

    Overkill rocked!

by ironbound111410 on 11/16/10Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

Great concert, first time seeing any of the bands but knew who they all were. Definitely recommend any of them to all metal fans! Great location, no charge for parking, multiple bars inside the club. Great place for shows even though its not that big.

Overkill needs to just play for 5 hours!

by Quesoking on 11/16/10Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

The 5 stars is not for the overall show its just for overkill because with the exception of Forbidden all the other bands were a waste and boring as hell trying to recreate and capture the essence of 80's thrash but were shown up when the big boys showed em how its done. blitz is one of the most amazing frontmen I've seen live. He pure energy on stage. and the rest of the band was flawless and the sound was perfect. Next time it should just be overkill for 5 hours and then it would be the best show EVER!!!

    OverKill STILL kicks @$$ !

    by Metal73 on 11/15/10Canal Club - Richmond

Great show! After nearly 30 years, these guys are still composing A+ thrash metal, and never release a bad album. Set list included lots of favorites with a few new tunes sprinkled in. It's a shame no one knows about the best thrash band of all time. Let's face it-- Metallica, Megadeth & Anthrax have put put out some disappointing crap, Slayer is stale, and Testament had that growling "Demonic" album after Chuck's surgery-- but OverKill has been hammering out great stuff consistently since 1985's "Feel the Fire.".

Showing the new boys how the MEN do it

    by Jeff4499 on 11/15/10Firestone Live - Orlando

The opening acts were very good including Forbidden, which I seen some years earlier. Then Overkill came on. Just amazing is the only way I can describe them. I have seen them many times in the past going back to around 1987 opening for Slayer!!! They came out and tore Firestone a new one. They set the bar so much higher. They along with Testament are as good as any of the Big Four if not better than some. I hope its not so long next time they come around.

Incredible. Every band was good, some better than others. Backlash, the local band, was okay, but not breathtaking. Bonded by Blood was alright, but I didn't like the singer. Gama Bomb was easily my favorite opener, with Evile a close second. Forbidden was good, but I was wasn't feeling them. Overkill was beyond words. Every band is thrash, but they each have their own unique approach to the style. If you haven't seen Overkill, like I hadn't, then you need to because you haven't seen a REAL thrash metal show until you've witnessed their relentless performance of power.

Overkill & Forbidden Orlando, FL 2010

by HAWKMAN on 11/15/10Firestone Live - Orlando

Forbidden was amazing live and sounded tight as hell after a 13 year live hiatus. Phenomenal musicians playing their classic bay area thrash as well as tunes from their new album Omega Wave. I have followed them since their Forbidden Evil release and was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to see them perform. Just wish they could have played a full set....looking forward to seeing them again. Highly recommended! Overkill was solid as always and played over an hour and a half. Sound was incredible except rhythm guitar was a little lost in the house mix. Saw Overkill once before and they never disappoint....110% energy from beginning to end! They played all of the stand out songs from their vast catalog. Go see 'em!
