Ottawa REDBLACKS History
The Ottawa REDBLACKS are a professional football team in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The REDBLACKS are the third CFL team to call Capital City their home, and upon their founding in 2014, ended Ottawa’s nearly decade-long run without a professional football team. In 2016, the team brought the Grey Cup back to Ottawa for the first time in 40 years, becoming the fastest Canadian-based expansion franchise to win a championship in a North American professional sports league with three seasons played. Ottawa has also claimed three East Division titles, in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Across its first ten seasons, the REDBLACKS roster has featured two Most Outstanding Canadian Award winners, one Most Outstanding Player and one Most Outstanding Defensive Player.

Ottawa REDBLACKS at The Stadium at TD Place
The Stadium at TD Place Stadium has been the home of the Ottawa REDBLACKS since 2014, though its history dates back to the city’s first CFL team, the Ottawa Rough Riders. Opened in 1908 as a stadium surrounding a playing field built in the 1870s, the former Lansdowne Park has hosted matches for football, soccer and rugby as well the Summer Olympics and outdoor hockey exhibitions. The 24,000-seat venue hosted its seventh Grey Cup championship game, and first as TD Place Stadium, at the 105th matchup in 2017. At home games for the Ottawa REDBLACKS, fans can cheer along with the team’s lumberjack mascot, Big Joe.

When Ottawa brought their CFL Team back, they did a great job with the amenities and the pre and post game extracurriculars. The team on the field has been a disappointment. I was a season ticket holder, then a 5 game pack, went to 1 game this year. It is not worth the money, not exciting, no offence to speak of and the defensive backfield is pourus. Will come back when I see a change on the field I have been giving this organization a chance for 4 yes now.
Great venue, pretty good place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks and snacks while enjoying the game. Only complaints: Food is overpriced. Drinks are also overpriced. Why not make it more affordable, $5 pizza and $8 drinks?
I drove up from Massachusetts to see a Redblacks game, and they did not disappoint. The stadium was beautiful, the game was a blast, seating was some of the more comfortable stadium seating I’ve experienced… it was a ton of fun
The game was great and a was really well run event! I was somewhat shocked to get to the Lansdowne area and see a gate across the parking lot saying "FULL". I have limited mobility and had nowhere to park which was pretty stressful. I wish I had been aware of this when I bought the tickets!
Was able to find brews on the ousmtside concourse! Aside from multiple security checks to get in - quick and easy entry. Cheap beers before the game! And the TigerCats won! Will do again for sure!
Went to the Hamilton game with a couple of friends. Had a good time. They do football well in Ottawa and the venue is fan and family friendly too.
I bought row 2 seats on the 45 yard line that turned out to have a half obscured view because of the tv setup. Could only see half the game! Why was there no notice that the seats were obstructed?
Game day, tickets popped up ready to be used! Plenty of notices about up-coming event.
The game itself was fairly entertaining although it would have been nice if the home team won. The biggest disappointment was the vendors. $25 for a beer and a small hotdog? That is truly unforgivable.
