    Another incredible year!

    by Autumn on 8/9/23

The second edition back since COVID reminded everyone why Osheaga is one of the top festivals in Canada. The food, art and overall vibe were incredible, as they are every year, with even more people than usual. That being said, having the additional staircase was quite a barrier for many and made it more difficult to get between areas if you were rushing to different shows. While I understand this is likely out of the control of the coordinators, it still had a big impact on our experience. Otherwise, the entry was quick and smooth, as were the cashless transactions at the event.

So good but last year was better

    by Gracie on 8/9/23

The distance between the stages this year was ABSURD. Less rides, no water features, less green space for sitting, and WAY more people. Still amazing thanks to the artists!

    osheaga

    by tf1234 on 8/9/23

osheaga is always my favourite concert to go to - next year though it would be great to have more shaded areas (a lot more) and a lot more seats / hammocks. it would also be great to go back to the old lay out of the back venues where people would walk through the trees / forest as it would make it less warm and create more space. it would also be nice if you put similar artists with similar artists - why was central cee early when kendrick was the finale? also why did baby keem perform on a separate day than kendrick? it just didn’t make much sense. other than that it was great and i will get a ticket next year

    Oversold

    by John on 8/9/23

It’s really the first year where I felt like I didn’t have place to move, to dance and even to sit on the hill. Normally, we where always able to walk where peacefully and all. Sunday was the worst. SO many people. Also felt like the new “avant-scene” was an fortunate thing for all the GA. Also, the new circuit wasn’t the best decision… way to far to walk, and at the end you guys close one stair so we had to go the long way. And finally, you guys need to find a way to increase the sound cause it was ridiculous. Osheaga used to be a nice vibe, maybe you guys are victims of your success 🤷🏼‍♂️ see ya soon

Amazing event with a terrible crowd

    by Rango on 8/9/23

The whole event was great and pretty well organized put the toilets where not great because there was no supervision so people where telling people not to go in and let other girls go in witch was not fun considering that there was a line and people where waiting for nothing. The crowd also didn’t give any care to people around them to a other level, I get you jump around puck and all that, but to be leaning on people for pictures and Runnung through the full of people without no sorry or pardon me, I think I saw 4 or five fights, but all in all great event with bad people

Good but not a fan of setup

    by Lauren on 8/9/23

I love osheaga and I go every year for the last 6 but this year the setup wasn’t it. It was super long walk to the back and two flights of stairs is a lot especially when I wanted to see one band on the green stage and then I only have like 5 minutes to run to the bell stage. I think the setup should change back to the old

Im too old for this XD

    by Rox on 8/9/23

Shows were amazing, vibe really cool, I was a bit ambitious with 2 days in a row though. Some of the things I didn’t like is that some of the staff were annoyed by us and looking angry, some people in the crowd were douche and unrespectful (like we’re thousands, it’s normal that you’ll have to let people pass sometimes you ungrateful kid). Booze was sooooo expensive, and there was a dirty spot with chemical toilets just before scene de l’ile, disgusting. But the rest, can’t complain, food ok, some people really nice and smiley, just having fun.

The shows were good, the food was amazing and the overall ambiance was great. The concert etiquette of a lot of people was questionable though...

    Great Festival Not Enough Space

    by Ci on 8/9/23

The festival line up was great and we had a lot of fun! However, the venue itself wasn't laid out the best. Both the main and verte stage had two different acts side by side with a fence through the middle. If it were to be just one massive stage with a more open field it would have been more comfortable and accessible for the guests. As well the coke stage was tucked around trees which made it extremely hard for the entire right side of the crowd to see and even hear. All in all we had a great time just think the layout could have been a lot better for such a massive turnout of people.

    Overall great time

    by Emily F on 8/9/23

The food selections were fantastic! The lineup was great as well and the vendors giving away free goods were really good, I loved the Garage booth specifically. Our main trouble was the security on Sunday. We were told by security on one side that we couldn’t enter and to enter the other way. Then we were told on the other side, the total opposite and to go back. We were told that the Kendrick side was full by one security guard, but there was ample room still, and then they let many people in still which didn’t make sense to us. I think security did not communicate properly which caused lots of issues on Sunday. That was my only issue.

    Phenomenal

    by First Timer on 8/9/23

Osheaga was so well organized and safe! My experience was a very great one. From the music line up (incredible), to the layout of the event (lots of room), to the bathroom availability (tons), to the safety and well being of guests (many water refill stations and cool down areas-even jets of water sprayed into crowd to keep them cool and constant reminders to use sunscreen and hydrate), the security and medical staff were ever present (that's a good thing!) I saw their quick responses helping people in need who had to attended to - even if from middle of crowd (another note is people really seemed to be looking out for each other if someone was in distress). Osheaga created an incredible music experience with technical genius. The Sound was incredible as was the camera work. Overall I will go again and would recommend anyone go, especially if it's your first festival and want to go somewhere that does it right. Before I forget - the food was really good with lots of options! Cheers Osheaga!

    Fun but organizationally chaotic

    by Kimpetraslvr on 8/9/23

Overall, I thought Osheaga was great. However, the fact the stages were so far from each other really made it difficult to get around. The layout with the two bridges and distance was too much. Additionally, I hated the sprinklers. It made a huge mud pit when there didn't need to be one. I also did not appreciate having all my belongings get wet. But the acts/bookings were great.

Awesome, but could use some work

    by Walter on 8/9/23

Loved it. Would have liked to have had some more bands headlining as opposed to single artists. The shows are often more enjoyable if a band is performaning as opposed to a single rap artist. Would also have liked to seen more runners selling drinks and waters to the people caught in the crowd

    Parc setup, artists booked

    by KC on 8/9/23

I would usually give it a 5 star since Osheaga is one of my favourite festival, I have been going every year for the last 12 years and loved to see how developed it’s become. Only thing is I felt like this year downgraded with the way everything was set up . Last year to get to the two other stages from the main stage we would simply walk over one set of stairs through a forested area that really gave the festival a vibe. This year everyone had to walk through two sets of stairs and in between was just a large parking that took away from that vibe mentioned before. Also artist selection I feel could be a little more upgraded Kendrick Lamar already performed at Osheaga 3 times and hasn’t even released much new music since his last appearance. Also Hip hop is the number one genre in the world right now and I feel like there wasn’t enough hip hop acts to fulfill that demand.

Osheaga 2023 had me scared for my life

    by Brandon on 8/9/23

I’m an avid festival goer went to several festivals over the past several years, this would be my second time going to Osheaga, my first time being 2022. Prior to going this year and seeing the new map layout i knew bottlenecks were going to occur and that people would get hurt. Coming the time of the festival, my suspicions were in fact true. I was nearly trampled by other festival goers on multiple occasions, the stairs were to narrow and packed. People were pushing crowds up the stairs which caused me to trip and get my head pushed into one of the steps and made me have a lump and feel extremely dizzy shortly after. This has been a terrifying experience to say the least with this layout and is making me reconsider going to an Osheaga ever again if this isnt fixed in later instalments of the festival. And another thing is the porto potties leaking, pretty self explanatory. Disgusting. That could’ve easily been prevented, alongside the layout. Do better.
