About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

I want to have this man in Concert. No, not with his clothes off. What a freaking Voice this man has, what lyrics sung!! I am a Gay man and he speaks to my Soul and my experience. I don’t go to Concerts but I want his. None planned in 2025? What the Heck, Peck? Give your Gay Fans some Respect. From what I read, you like Solitary life but not seeing you in Concert, is like Solitary Confinement for us. We want you.

  • First time at the Palladium / So-So Orville Peck Performance

    by T. Patterson on 11/3/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5

It was my first time to the Palladium - a beautiful venue but trash was piled up all over and our group witnessed someone throwing up on the main floor (it was only 8pm on a Sunday night). I have been looking forward to seeing Orville Peck for a couple of years - this tour is titled "Stampede"after the most recent album and Orville performed only 5/15 songs from the album (I was hoping to hear more from that album even though he would have had to perform them without the artists from the album). And somehow Orville performed below everyone's sightline who was standing on the floor which made me wonder why anyone would perform a concert if most of the audience can't even see you...I will continue to listen his albums - it is just not worth it to see his live performance.

  • Excellent end to the tour.

  • Incredible live performance!

by Brian on 10/30/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

An Orville Peck concert is a vocal and instrumental performance like no other. He's has incredible vocals and it sounds even better than recordings - not to mention the stellar band, who all have shining moments of their own. And added plus - the crowd is always diverse and just melts together in a jamboree of excellent country music. LOVED IT! *The only improvement would be for the Palladium to raise the stage a little higher or have the main performer on a higher platform. It's not always easy to see things from the standing general tickets, especially if anyone tall is in front of you.
