Alcohol Issues!
by Razduck on 9/25/18Autzen Stadium - EugeneRating: 1 out of 5My wife and I had been season ticket holders for 24 years and dropped them after last season. So, we decided to buy tickets to the Stanford and Washington games. This was the first game we have been to with the new policy to allow alcohol sales inside Autzen Stadium. There were many people in our Row who were constantly getting up from their seats to go get more beer and wine. They continually brought back 2 or more alcoholic beverages on each trip. Needless to say we were continually getting up to allow them past us and it caused us from enjoying the game. We came to watch the game, obviously some many came to drink alcohol. With all the back and forth trips for more beer etc. we had both beer and wine spilled on from people in our row and the row behind us. In our 24 years we have never had beverages spilled on us, ever! In the mid 4th quarter an inebriated man trying to out of the row behind us fell on top of us. Thankfully we were not injured, but surely could have been. This was the first time that this has ever happened in 24 years as well. There were multiple issues with drunk fans where alcohol monitors and Eugene Police and we’ve only seen that a couple of times in 24 years. All in all this was the worst game day experience we have ever had and it all stemmed from excessive alcohol consumption! We will go to the Washington game, but after that, we shall see. If the alcohol sales policy is not reversed, we will never return to Autzen Stadium! This is really sad!
