We had an amazing time attending The 90’s hip hop Orchestra Noir concert. I’m so glad we decided to go, they’ve gained new fans!!
The evening was a total disaster. The organizers were not prepared for the crowd. Waiting in line 30minutes to park only to be told the lot was full. The venue was too small for a very loud band. I will never attend another event at this place. Not the way I expected to spend my 40th wedding anniversary.
Orchestra Noir was good AND disappointing all at the same time. I got all dressed up expecting a soothing evening of symphonic hip hop. Instead, I got a brass performance of 90's music. Shame on me for researching the group on YouTube before purchasing my tickets... what they post on YouTube was very different from what I experienced. Don't get me wrong, the music was AH-MAZING!!!! However, I have never seen an audience dance that hard and sweat that much at an orchestra performance. Suggestion: Let people know that your performance is more big band with a DJ, not an orchestra. Then ticket buyers will know what they are truly getting.
Most of the audience seemed to really enjoy the event, so I was apparently in the minority. For me: - The tunes they played weren't "my jams" ;-) so they did not "get me going." - The sound technician did a *horrible* job with the "house mix" : The drums and the DJ overpowered everything. (When the saxophone and trumpet did their solos, their sound volume was not loud enough to give them dominance to let us hear them well. But most people in the audience were rocking to the drums and the DJ, so the audience didn't seem to care.) - The sax player was "okay" but not great. [Maybe that is why the sound technician did not "turn him up." ;-) ]
Awesome performance! Would definitely see them again if they returned to the area!
We really enjoyed Orchestra Noir’s performance. I recommend you go and would see them perform again.
Why is this picture not of the All Black Orchestra that was at Duke Energy Center on July 16,2022. I am asking to give a review the name is correct but not the picture. I hope this problem will be fixed quickly. Orchestra Noir was great Saturday night and if they come next week, I would tell 10 other people to attend. My wish is that Orchestra Noir will touch every city, state and country.
This was a beautiful experience for my era! My childhood friends and I had the time of our lives! We danced, sang along, laughed and created memories that will last us a lifetime! Until the next time!! #orchestranoir
Orchestra and DJ kept the crowd going. Great musical selections that allowed for audience participation and enjoyment. Tuxes, gowns, suits, dresses, and even some sneakers - everyone looked amazing. I would recommend this event to anyone!
It was beautiful and different experience! The orchestra definitely rocked the crowd!!
The show was outstanding and LIVE! Wish Inhad closer seats, next definitely a must. Great music and performance. Stage presence and DJ was entertaining and engaged. Dont hesitant buy the tickets!
Please bring it back.......... . .................
This show was amazing! Please have them back in NC. The music, the performance, the community, the crowd interaction! It’s amazing! We need more of this Black excellence in NC
I loved everything about the performance. It was better than expected. Can't wait to see them again in Raleigh!
My husband and I were amazed by the unique talents of the orchestra to take what is deemed as classical music instruments and apply it to a modern era of the 90’s. Their performances were captivating and each one flowed and transitioned well. I recommend seeing it.
I really did not know what to expect. It was recommended by the chairman of sorority chapter Arts Committee. It was marvelous! The string section was majority female. They were awesome! The men were good too😄
My heart swelled pride to experience this show. We need more shoes like this in Birmingham, AL. It’s an adult event but I really wish my children could experience a children’s version.
Orchestra Noir was amazing. Great music, very entertaining and fun.
I enjoyed everything about the show!!! WE are so talented and it was so refreshing to see!
The vibe was unmatched. It kept my attention the entire time. Definitely looking forward to another show!
