In 2023, the Golden Eagles won their first Summit League championship. They have also appeared in over a dozen NCAA Tournaments, including in 2023. The Golden Eagles have had a number of players who have gone on to play professional baseball, including Mike Moore and Tom Nieto.

Moore, a right-handed pitcher, went on to a successful career in the major leagues. Moore was selected by the Seattle Mariners as the first overall pick in the 1981 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut in 1982 and played for the Mariners, Oakland Athletics, and Detroit Tigers during his career. Moore was known for his durable arm and spent multiple years pitching for over 200 innings in a season. He was also an All-Star in 1989, and played a pivotal role in the Oakland Athletics' World Series championship that same year.

Catcher Tom Nieto attended Oral Roberts University and was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the 1981 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 1984 and went on to play for the team until 1988. Nieto also had stints with the former Montreal Expos and the Atlanta Braves during his MLB career.

The Golden Eagles have played their home games at J.L. Johnson Stadium since 1970. The stadium is named after J.L. Johnson, who was the head baseball coach at Oral Roberts from 1968 to 1995. J.L. Johnson Stadium has a capacity of 2,500 people.
