Operation Mincemeat is a new musical comedy by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts based on the World War II British military deception of the same name, which ultimately disguised the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943. Following an acclaimed run of London’s West End, as well as a win for Best New Musical at the 2024 Olivier Awards, Operation Mincemeat will transfer to Broadway in early 2025 with the original London cast reprising their roles. Called “the year’s funniest musical” by The Washington Post, performances are set to begin February 15 at the Golden Theatre for a limited run of just 16 weeks.

I had a chance to see Operation Mincemeat in London this past October. It was so funny, with four actors playing all the many roles, regardless of gender. The dialogue was fast paced, in a Monty Python kind of way, and the fact that it was a true story was fascinating.
