Review of one night in Memphis at Akron EJ Thomas Hall

by Jim on 11/7/22E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

I did not recognize several of the songs. They should have played only very recognizable cover songs. It was getting old as the intermission neared. The person playing johnny cash seemed more interested in being a comic and a one man show. The person who played Elvis was not very good. His pandering to the ladies in the in the audience became tiring and trashy. I am sorry I spent the money. We would have left shortly after the intermission restart but we were in the middle of the row and it would have caused 30 people to stand.

    One Night in Memphis

by Akron on 11/7/22E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

This was a great show! Each of the guys did an amazing job becoming Jerry, Johnny and Elvis. Show is funny and upbeat for any age really, but audience was pretty much older! I would definitely see them again!

One Night in Memphis Fabulous Show

by MAP on 11/7/22E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

The overall show was fabulous. Brandon Bennett (Elvis) and Blair Carman (Jerry Lee) were beyond wonderful. John Mueller (Carl Perkins) was a wonderful musician and not only did Carl Perkins but did back-up for the other artists. I was not impressed with Shawn Barker (Johnny Cash). They did an encore which had the crowd on their feet the entire time. Would absolutely go again to see this show.

    Missing something

by JanetB on 5/6/19F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

The music and singing was great!! Lots of singing and musical talent. I was missing the acting of the story line. I appreciate the Story telling and photos along the way, but i would have liked to see some actual acting out of the different parts and sun studio interaction.

I loved the moves Elvis had and Johnny Cash was spot on. I never give 5 stars for anything, so my 4 stars is Excellent!!!! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

    Fantastic show!!!

by NY Neal on 5/6/19F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

A good friend of mine and I drove over 2 hours to go see One Night In Memphis at the Kirby Center in Scranton Wilkes-Barre, Pa. We had seen The Million Dollar Quartet last year, which is also based on the once in a lifetime event on December 4, 1956 when 4 young men -- Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley -- happened to go at the same time to the legendary Sam Phillips' now infamous hole-in-the-wall record studio and did an impromptu jam session. Phillips taped the session and the rest is history. We loved The Million Dollar Quartet, which had been a huge hit on Broadway, and loved it very much, and were excited to be able to see this show, One Night In Memphis.

    Outstanding!

by BJ on 4/13/19Suquamish Clearwater Beach Rock Music & Sports Lounge - Suquamish

These musicians put on an outstanding performance and it is difficult to not think they are the original artists. Very entertaining and they sing all of the favorites. They also insert stories about the history of the original singers throughout the performance and they gave an awesome encore performance at the end. The performer giving tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis is an incredible pianist and really steals the show. This was our second time to attend one of their shows and we fully intend to buy tickets if they come to town again next year.

    STAGE RIGHT!

by natbot on 10/31/17Stephens Auditorium - Ames

We've seen several Million Dollar Quartet shows, and this may be the best Jerry Lee Lewis. I just wish we'd had seats on the left side of the auditorium so we could have SEEN the PIANO KEYS!

    Great Show

    by JayTee12 on 10/29/17Stephens Auditorium - Ames

The impersonators were very impressive!! It was highly evident that they had studied their subjects to an amazing degree. Would have wanted it to last much longer. Johnny Cash only did like 3 songs, and the whole program just could have been much longer.
