An epic global stadium tour, a 3-D concert film that grossed close to $70M in ticket sales worldwide, and the November 2013 release of their third studio album, Midnight Memories, the young boys of One Direction have proved that they're more than just a flash in the Brit-pop pan.

One Direction burst onto the scene in 2011 after having formed before the world's eyes on the British singing competition The X-Factor. English lads Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson and Irish chap Niall Horan each signed up for the show as a solo act but were ultimately convinced that they'd be much more successful as a group.

The boys clicked immediately and have been tearing up the charts ever since. 1D made history when their first studio album, Up All Night, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S., and their follow up, Take Me Home, topped the charts in over 30 countries. The band is known for their bright and catchy dance-pop sound, their boundless energy on stage, and their clean and preppy fashion style

    I saw you guys in 2014 on the wwa tour. best day ever but can’t remember much bc i was only 8. anyways, we miss you guys and it would be amazing for you to come back but it probably won’t happen. you are all happy doing your solo stuff and it makes me happy that you guys are too.

    I was lucky enough to see them in 2014 & 2015, I would give anything to go back, I miss them so much and I know if they came back, they’d sell out in a matter of minutes or even seconds.

    I saw them in 2013 in New Orleans, LA. BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. I absolutely adore these boys. They saved me in so many ways, gave me lifelong friendships... I’d do anything to have them back together again.

    I saw them back in 2014 during their WWA tour in philly. It was one of the best nights of my life and I would do anything to relive it. 5sos was the opening act and everything was just amazing. Beautiful fireworks, confetti, and the rain on that day made everything so much more fun!! The boys were so funny and silly and they looked amazing. Thank you for everything ❤️

    I saw them in 2014. Honestly one of the best days of my life. 5sos opened for them and it was amazing they got the crowd even more pumped up than they already were. Then One Direction came out and the crowd went wild, in a great way. They really know how to put on a show. Their vocals live are so good and I love the crowd interaction they had. They know what their fans want. Glad I got to experience the band with all five: Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, and Zayn. A day for the books for sure.

    to this day my biggest flex is that i went to see one direction in 2014 (frat boy harry and zayn was still there) it is still the best thing that i have every experienced even though i can barely remember it (i was 8) i really hope lou keeps his promise😕

    i wet to see the boys when i was 6 Turing 7. i am now 14, i miss them like crazy. but they are having great solo careers. i just hope that Louis doesn't break his promise. i will wait for them. ❤️
