    What fun! Inspiring!

by Stanleyetta on 6/9/15Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

I loved being a part of the introduction of On Your Feet to the theater community. They did an excellent job of telling the story. The costumes were spot on, the sets simple but very effective, and the special effects and sound system were amazing. The audience was thouroughly entertained although somewhat reserved and remained seated until the curtain call, which I found hard to do. Perhaps the evening patrons were more spontaneous. During "conga" everyone went wild but remained seated. How fun it would have been if the audience would have stood, danced and sung along like Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys. Suggest they plant a couple of fans in the audience to start the movement so the rest of the audience will join in. This music needs to be seen, heard, AND felt.

Being a fan of her music, I found learning about her life and struggles was awe inspiring. The music just makes you feel good. Amazing. Hope to see them on the Tony Awards next year.

    Wow show

by DaveRC on 6/8/15Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

Incredibly dynamic, with all of Gloria's favorite songs. Cuban music with lots of great dancing. Plus two youth who are also incredibly talented. Sure to be a hit when it reaches Broadway in a few weeks.

This show will make you laugh, cry, dance & sing!

by KrisB83 on 6/8/15Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

This show seamlessly incorporates so many hit songs while telling a great story of love and ambition. Ana Villafane actually sounds like Gloria in a lot of the songs! The costumes are perfect and Josh Segarra (Emilio) is GORGEOUS and hilarious. I'd see it again in a heartbeat!

Entertaining, great cast, rediscover the songs!

by EsteFAN on 6/8/15Oriental Theater - Chicago

As a fan of Gloria Estefan I knew a lot about Gloria and Emilio's history but there were still surprises and little known information, I still laughed and shed a few tears at times. I was very happy to have songs from throughout Gloria's career featured and sung by the talented cast, some Spanish and mostly English songs. Not only the hits like Conga, 123, and I Don't Wanna Lose You but lesser known but wonderful album tracks that advance the story (also a new song penned by Gloria's daughter). A lot of thought went into this musical from the customs and the set to the dancing and the book. I will see it again during the previews here in Chicago!

On Your Feet will get you on your feet

by ch53 on 6/8/15Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

we saw the pre-broadway preview on Friday June 5th. It was excellent. the show was one of the best musicals I have ever been to. the storyline blended perfectly with the music. the lead Ana Villafane made you think it really was Gloria Estefan and the same for Josh Segarra as Emilio. Young Gloria, Gloria's mother and grandmother were wonderful And to top it off, the Orchestra played like they were the Miami Sound machine ( probably because several of the orchestra members were part of MSM). The entire cast was great. Truly a wonderful night. See it now in Chicago or get your tickets early for when it begins its Broadway run. A sure winner for the 2016 best new musical Tony.

This play was one of the most vibrant and entertaining plays that I have seen in the last few years. The actors, singers and dancers were excellent and totally engaging. Gloria Esteven was in the audience that evening which made you feel the story was an authentic representation of their life.

Great new show. Entertaining and fun with fabulous energy and terrific talent. The grandmother was a standout! Go see it. You will be ON YOUR FEET giving a standing ovation! PS: Second act needs some trimming. I am sure the producers will find places to cut some dialogue.

    Must See Musical!

by AvenueM on 6/5/15Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

Quality story-line of Gloria and Emilio with the amazing songs and lyrics they created. Dancing is off the chart and during her performance the young lady who portrayed Gloria almost sounded like her as well as looked like her...almost makes you forget who is performing. Wish I had the time to get tickets to go see it again!
