    Loved the show

    by Brenda on 8/22/23

I totally loved the show. I Adore Steve and Cam. I also loved meeting the cast afterwards. The theater is beautiful and has lots of history. They however vip lanyards we’re not given upon entry and they were not prepared for the meet after the show. We had to wait while thy set up.

    Worth it

    by Bix on 8/22/23

With multiple stories, a talented ensemble cast of voice actors, and passionate musicians, this show was 10x better than I expected and worth every penny. If they tour again in 2024, I'm going.

    It was almost great.

    by Shiny_J on 8/21/23

I had been listening to this podcast for about a year. I was really excited about this show. Unfortunately and unnecessarily the show turned in to a political soap box venue. I am definitely not willing to pay money to have anyone shouting their political opinions at me. This should have been entertainment not politics. Please either stop the politics or make it clear in your advertisements that you are pushing a political agenda.

    Too political

    by Dan on 8/20/23

I go to events to be entertained and not to listen to politics.

Really could have done without Cam's tirade

    by RK on 8/20/23

The show was amazing, right up until Cam came on stage and tried to get the audience to "hex"everyone from political figures, to her old principal, to all "cis gendered men". Old Gods has lost its way and lost a listener, an avid fan, and a Patreon. I hope it was worth it, and I hope Cam receives the help she needs to recover from what has apparently traumatized her and caused her to lash out at the world.

    Stellar show

    by CG on 8/20/23

Long time fan. It was absolutely stellar. I’d never been to a live podcast, much less a narrative driven podcast. I didn’t know what to think. I loved every minute.

    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! 💚🖤

    by OGoA Junkie on 8/20/23

The venue had some issues with the a/c not working. No signage to point out the Merch table (VIP tickets without all the perks of being a VIP) The show was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I hope they will come back to Knoxville again and I will be there 💯

    Would see again

    by Jen on 7/17/23

Great opportunity to enjoy the show in an interactive and special way. We got to hear familiar songs from the podcast, new/other songs by those same musical artists. Steve is even better when you can see him get into the characters. The rest of the cast was fantastic and a attendee didn't need to be familiar with the podcast stories to enjoy. Only sad bit as there have been different people available the stories shared were not the same through the tour (many other elements were consistent). It make our stretch special, but I'd want the others. Left with a need for more, relisten to the podcast it shall be. Trust me, these family stories don't get old-but listener discretion is advised.

Amazing Story and (Most of the) Music

    by Wes W. on 7/16/23

I really, really enjoyed the show! Great story that lent itself well to being more of a one off. The music was mostly good. Landon Blood and Jon Charles Dwyer were just incredible! Jacob Danielson-Moore was a lot more difficult to enjoy. I think any audience is happy to participate in a song for a position of it. I really did not like that expectation that the acidic was going to be involved for the entire set. His music did not fit the vibe of Old Gods, and I think that it detracted from the experience. Otherwise, wonderful show!

    A Family Gathering

    by Aunt Z on 7/11/23

I went to the Asheville show last year so expectations were high, but somehow Cam, Steve, and the rest of the Family managed to blow them out of the water. My second visit to The Fillmore but definitely not my last- the staff is professional, friendly, and courteous, the venue feels intimate without being stuffy. Minor nitpick (very minor): clearer demarcation was needed for the VIP experience, many of us didn’t know where to go and missed out on merch and other opportunities because we got lost. All around, though, 5 stars for sure!

    Absolutely amazing show

    by None on 7/10/23

The Old Gods of Appalachia show was outstanding. The musical acts played incredibly well and it was great to see the musical artists who contribute to the podcast live and in person. The story written and performed by Steve and Cam was great (and a standalone story so perfect for people who aren't caught up on the podcast) and the voice actors really knocked it out of the park. It was a wonderful evening with the Family and I highly encourage everyone to go see it.

    Briefly Uncomfortable, Overall Great Storytelling

    by Susurro on 7/10/23

I'm going to preface this by saying that the event overall was pretty great. Not the biggest fan of banjo music and the like, but it was pretty cool to hear some of the songs from the podcast live performed by the original artists. The part that was uncomfortable was the bit of politicalness that was thrown in around the hexing bit. I come to events for a little bit of escapism, a break from reality and all the negativity of real life. So I wasn't really expecting to have things thrown that really didn't have any place and the actual realm of the story that was being told in the stories that have been told. It's great that the storytelling team has things that they care about and thinks they're passionate about outside the podcast itself, but things like that are also a good way to alienate people and reduce viewership.

Better than I could have hoped!

    by Hannah on 7/9/23

Loved every minute of it. I’ve been listening to the podcast for the last two years and had no idea what to expect. The music was phenomenal (the hollow man song was my favorite!), the story telling in person was as good as the produced podcast releases, the lighting and mood setting was top tier. The only disappointment was that it wasn’t a sold out show - this team deserves to sell out everywhere!
