    Hockey is back

by Martios on 11/8/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

As a fan of the old Blazers (60's and 70's), it was good to see this caliber of hockey back in OKC. Taking nothing away from the recent Blazers of the CHL, the speed of the game and the talent is simply on a different level. It will take time to establish rivalries, but I think OKC is fortunate to have the Barons. To the hockey purist, we're seeing the future stars of the NHL and hopefully OKC will embrace them.

    OKC Barons Hockey

by robadobDOB on 11/7/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

It was a really good game, however, we used to go to the OKC Blazers games alot and you would see the mascot everywhere during the game. For the Barons you only see " Derrick" once or twice. dERRICK NEEDS TO GET OUT AND AROUND THE STANDS MUCH MORE OFTEN LIKE ALL THE OTHER MASCOTS.

    Barons were awesome!

by Brokenwolf on 11/7/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

This was my first hockey game and I had a blast! The seats were great and the Barons were too! It was an exciting game, complete with a fight in the middle. Don't miss seeing a game and be sure to check out promotion nights, we were given great hockey jerseys when we arrived! Loved the whole night. Bricktown is a fun place to hang out after the game too!

    KILLER GAME

by Holmstrom on 11/7/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

This was the second game my wife and I attended. The first was opening night. There were noticable differentes. First of the the Barons looked a whole Heck of alot better. I understand that their first game was so bad since the Mothership(OILERS) didn't send the players down till the last minute, there fore little time to practice and play together. Sharp passing and great hustle by the team,Belle worked his butt off. Also outstanding Checking and Goal tending. The other major difference was the sound sytem. The first game it was TERRIBLE. Could not understand one word. Seems they worked the kinks out on that. You could actually understand what was being said. Will attend a game again A.S.A.P. GO BARONS Rock On!!!!

First hockey game attended. Game was very fast and exciting. One pretty good fight, got the crowd going. Arena had lots of empty seats...more crowd noise would of been a little more exciting. Referees made quite a few bad calls, and the crowds let them know. Hockey puck chuck for prizes was exciting...spend the $3 and take your chances on winning some money; it was literally raining hockey pucks at half-time. We are looking forward to another game next time in the city.

    Glad to Have Hockey Back

by BlazinB on 10/21/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

It is good to have Hockey back in OKC, I wanted to get a NHL team but AHL will work as well. The Cox center is not the best but not the worst, It's too bad that Oklahoma has not gotten over the Beef and Football issue it has, there is more to life than this, maybe when that happens they will see the impact of a multi use center. Not one that is an after thought. Good event and yes I will be back.

My husband and I had a blast. We are originally from Ohio so it was fun watching both teams play. We were also so happy to be there for the Barons first win.

    Need more practice!

by srpinokc1 on 10/12/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

It's exciting to have hockey back in OKC. With only one practice under their belts becasue Edmonton didn't want to release players until the last minute and a few players that couldn't get through customs, there's lots of room for improvement but I was encouraged to see almost 10K folks there for opening night. I'll def go back. And parking in the garage was only $2! Take the skywalk over, no wind, no rain or cold. Fun night out!

It's exciting to have this level of hockey here in OKC. I know the Barons will improve with time, as they have some great talent. Fun evening, and love the mascot, Derrick!

There was alot of confusion on where you could and couldn't get your will call tickets. Long lines a hour and a half before faceoff.

    Awesome hockey in OKC.

by Bill66 on 10/11/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

It is great to have hockey back in OKC. I heard several fans saying the barons and AHL are a level far ahead of the CHL and our beloved Blazers. I agree. It was fast-paced and exciting, never a dull moment. The only disappointment to me was we lost but they've only practiced a few times together. They will definitely improve. Next time the seats need to be filled.

    Barons hockey

by blizzard84 on 10/11/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

Glad to see hockey back in OKC.. they aren't the greatest but at least they are fun to watch; very physical thats for sure. Since they are new they still have to get used to eachother and learn to play together. Their biggest problem was controling the puck.. if they get that down they'll be alright.

    OKC BARRONS OPENING NIGHT

by mspnokc on 10/11/10Cox Convention Center Arena - Oklahoma City

The opening night for the OKC Barrons was exciting. It was almost electic when the team took the ice. The fan base was great as expected. There were alot of old faces. It was good also to be back in the Cox center.
