Snow tubing has improved greatly in the past year. Was a lot of fun.
Overall it was fun, but in an hour and 30 min we only got to slide down 4 times. I think they would be better off adding another kids line bc the big hill line gets so long that you have to go down the kids hill just to slide.
When the temp. is 32 and the wind blowing it would be nice to have more than one heater. Ther were about 6 or7 heaters only one working. Three or Four years ago you had people putting fresh snow down the last two yrs. there was no one doing this, is there a reason for this. I don't tube but I bring my grandkids every year they look forward to comming. We will be back next year. They love it, but seems to slowly melting away
The Chesapeake Snow Tubing Event was great! We went on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 and the lines moved fast. The staff was great and our group had a fun time.
The lines were just too long and the tube run wasn't very fast. Fun for kids I'm sure, but not good for adrenaline junkies.
Kids loved it, but I wish we would have went during the week when it's not so busy.
Kids had fun but 4 rides down the slide in a 90 minute session left them wanting more. Seems like they should limit the entry a bit more for each session. However, this is a really neat event and a good, creative use of the ballpark during the Christmas break. We made a night of it and went to dinner in Automobile Alley after and had a good time overall
IT WAS A GREAT TIME FOR ALL THE LINES WEREN'T TO LONG AND EVERYONE WAS NICE AND IN GOOD SPIRITS. KIDS HAD A BLAST AND WE WILL GO BACK AGAIN NEXT YEAR. BUT PLEASE HAVE MORE HEATERS WORKING FOR MY HUSBAND AND OTHERS WHO NEED THE HEAT AND CAN'T TAKE THE COLD
The slope of the adult slide and the children's slides was the same, so there really was no need for a children's that is simply shorter. My two-year old wouldn't have found the longer slide to be any more harrowing than the shorter one. The time slot was obviously overbooked, so the wait for the adult slide was ridiculous. Had both slides been the same, the wait would have been more reasonable. At any rate, the slides were very slow.
Good fun cheap Entertainment, for people of all ages to enjoy!!! Will be taking my in-laws from Georgia when they get here!
We drove from Tulsa on the 23rd to take the kids to experience Oklahoma City's downtown Christmas events. The snow tubing was the highlight. They loved it! We have never seen anything like it before, and so appreciate someone thinking outside the box to bring some fun winter activities to an area without a guarantee of snow. My daughter and I had been to OKC about two weeks prior for a cheer competition, and discovered the snow tubing then. We knew we had to bring the family back to enjoy it too. My only complaint about the night we brought the family, is that the heaters that were blowing heat on the seats under the roof areas that first time, were not on that second time. And it was actually cold that time! Some heat would have been great! There were some standing heaters, however, that were great. Other than that, our whole OKC experience was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly. We can only hope Tulsa can figure out how to do things the way you all do! Otherwise we have a new family holiday tradition. Thank you! :)
Organization needs to improve. Did everything possible to be proactive by purchasing tickets on-line 4-5 days in advance & paying convenience charges of $9.25. Arrived early before 2:00 PM time, not knowing what kind of lines to expect. Turned in printed out tickets, fully completed waiver forms along with receipt clearly showing 2:00 PM time to attendant at window around 1:20 PM and received orange wrist bands. We went to Starbucks since there was no line for the 2:00 PM time slot. Return at 2:00 PM for our scheduled time, got in the tubing line & found we had the wrong wrist bands. Needed blue not orange. Even though we had our paid receipt showing the 2:00 PM time, the gentlemen running the tubes sent us back to the window to get the correct color wrist bands. Because the bands had already been printed & given to us, the window attendants had a difficult printing new bands for us as the session was sold out. This cost us about 15-20 minutes of time, so we only were able to go down 3 times vs. 4 times. Bummer! Don't know if the orange bands were noon time or not, but if the tubes were getting ready to close in 10 minutes, don't think we would be paying $50 for 10 minutes of tubing!
Too many people; too long of lines. In an hour and a half, we only got to go down 3 times.
This is a tradition for my daughter and I and definitely recommend it to others. No matter what the weather is it is a delight and they even have hot chocolate.
The children and adults really enjoyed the snow tubing. I just wish they could have gotten more time to play. They only went down four times due to it being sold out. Was lots of fun had by all. There really should be someone watching to ensure people don't just lay their tubes down at the bottom before walking up the steps through the bleachers.
I enjoyed it throughly, it was my first time and it was very excilerating. You kind of get the best of both worlds if you enjoy working out and being entertained. I will be returning.
our son would have enjoyed the kiddie slide more if it hadn't been completed backed up with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles...5 adults to every 2 kids!!! he was only able to slide 5 times in 90 min because the line was so congested. adults should be restricted from the kids slide. we didn't get our $$ worth!
Last year tubing was a blast! Thus, we purchased tickets for this year. Both times were celebrating daughter's birthday. Sadly, this year was nothing but a big let down. The kids went down two times and were done - 30 minutes total. Tubing was so slow many were having to push off again 1/2 way down - we believe the poorness of the event was in large part due to the unseasonably warm weather Oklahoma has been experiencing - with the extreme cold weather that has moved in hopefully tubing will improve. We may check it out.
I thought the slide was fun. The speed was just fast enough for me to get a good thrill. My teenage kids got bored however, and when the wait got to 20 minutes, they wanted to leave. They were hoping for more twists and turns in the slide. The inner tubes were pretty heavy to haul back up since I have weak weak upper body strength.
