Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Basketball History
Ohio State first fielded a basketball team in 1898 and played its games through 1919 at an on-campus building known as the Armory. In 1912, the Buckeyes joined the Big Nine conference. Four years later, the league was rechristened to its current name as the Big Ten.
Over the years, Ohio State has been guided to success by several notable coaches, including Fred Taylor, who helmed the team between 1959 and 1976, and Jim O'Brien, whose tenure stretched from the late ’90s to the early ’00s. Future Basketball Hall of Famers John Havlicek and Jerry Lucas as well as 2010 Naismith College Player of the Year Evan Turner have also passed through the program. The Buckeyes' main competitors tend to be their fellow Big Ten members, although their biggest rival is the Michigan Wolverines.
The Columbus-based Buckeyes have earned 31 appearances in the NCAA March Madness tournament, making 10 advancements to the Final Four and winning the national championship in 1960. Meanwhile, Ohio State has played in the National Invitation Tournament 10 times, taking home titles in 1986 and 2008 and advancing to the quarterfinals in 2024.

Ohio State Buckeyes at the Schottenstein Center
The Buckeyes play in Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center (often shortened to the Schottenstein Center). Opened in 1998, Schottenstein Center is the largest arena in the Big Ten, seating 19,500 for basketball. Appropriately, the school boasts a vocal, robust student fanbase that cheers on the team in a section known as the Buckeye NutHouse.

Great night of fun for the family and friends who love Ohio state.
Had a great time and glad OSU won. Looking forward to going to other games.
It was a nice experience except that the will call selection I made somehow got switched to a print at home type of tickets and I had to be escorted to a particular ticket booth to get them but the OSU staff was awesome giving us an escort through the arena. jjh
Buckeyes won! What a bad outcome for Evan Turner, hope he heals quickly. Our seats were OK, Football team showed up and displayed the Big Ten trophy. We had a great day.
Awesome event! We love the Buckeyes! The seats were great and we got our tickets several days in advance. Took our 4-year-old son to his first OSU Basketball game and he loved it!
Any chance to see THE Ohio State Buckeyes is a good one; but to witness history in the making was amazing. I win is always great but a win that clinches the Big Ten's first Big Ten/ACC Challenge is about as good as it gets.
Good times at the game... and the kicker the Buckeyes sealed the victory for the Big Ten/ACC challenge
It was a real good game! Good atmosphere! I had a real good seat with a good viewl
Buying the tickets online and printing them out worked very well. I was sceptical at first but when we got to the arena our printed tickets were scanned and we went right in. All around good expierance. Will do it again.
The game was a great experience for me and my daughter ( Both Buckeye nuts) to witness live. Great seats, and a 63 point win; what more could you ask.
It was a wonderful night of action and fun. The seats were great.. If you like basketball you'll love watching the Buckeyes this year. They are talented and work extemely well together. A fantastic venue for the entire family.
This was an outstanding game with upfront seats, we could have not asked for a better view of the game as what we got wuth these tickets, we will definetly return for additional basketball games ths season.
It is always a good time when you go and see THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!
This was a very enjoyable experience - good seats, good crowd, good game and easy parking and access. This was my first time attending a college basketball game. Much more fun in person than on TV!
My friends and I and an incrediable experience. The seats were close and comfortable. Go Bucks!!!!
