Octonauts are a hit with the Kids!!!

by Buckarooni on 11/23/16Orpheum Theatre - Boston

We really enjoyed the show! It was well done and the perfect amount of time for my 3 & 4 year olds. The characters were great and the stage and props worked well for the age of the audience. The Orpheum's seats are another story. If you are taller than 5'9' you are probably not comfortable at all....

Seats really stunk. Made it not worth it.

    by BillyBoy08 on 11/23/16Orpheum Theatre - Boston

I bought seats first row above a walk way figuring there was no way my 4 year old's view would be blocked. Well, they had about 6 computers set up right in front of us on the next level, with people working them. It was EXTREMELY distracting with them working in front of us. I'd consider these seats "Obstructed View" at the very least. My Grand Daughter had to lean side to side to see some of the show. Sure wish they'd show where the operations section was when displaying tickets. Other venue's do. She was happy to be there, but I think it could have been a whole lot better. Between the T being down and having to go in by bus, the cold weather and the crappy view, it wasn't the fun day I had planned. I won't go to the Orpheum again.

    Good, family fun

by Eve93 on 11/21/16Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This was our 2nd kids show this year. The costumes and sets were very realistic and high quality. My daughter is afraid of mascots, so it took her a few minutes to overcome that fear. I would have given 5 stars, but I thought the acoustics were somewhat muffled and it was difficult to understand the cast, especially with audience participation. Otherwise a very production.

    Bad services

by Sadfun on 11/18/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Half of show is cardboard made Octnauts and sea cureatures moving around at stage....and small involvement for audience Worst part is there is no place to take pictures with Octnauts.... I found one poster by VIP areas entrance, so tried to take with my son but security block the poster and chased my son away .... Really?? I pairs over $100 dollars for 2 person and I can't take my sons happy picture with Octnauts?? Its very rubbish event.

    Fun Night

Bought the tickets for the family, mostly for the grandson. He loved it and we all had a good time. It was a great family event.

    Not worth the Money

by OctoNOT on 11/17/16FM Kirby Center - Wilkes Barre=

No Creature Report??? How can this be? They play it at the end of every episode! Also, lost the attention of the younger crowd...everyone was squirming by the middle of the show. I was in the 10th row and could barely hear the characters.

    Great show

by TraciHS on 11/16/16Warner Theatre - Washington

Our child lived the show. The intermission was helpful for potty breaks, etc. my only critique was in regard to the cliffhanger before the final act - it was a little too scary for the younger viewers (including our son).

    Disappointing and overpriced

    by ShowLover2u on 11/16/16Warner Theatre - Washington

This show had potential to be great, but it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered to put in any effort. I wouldn't waste your money. They didn't even include a creature report, which occurs at the end of every episode. I paid over $100 per ticket for the show and "explorer party". This consisted of a few small tables that had self serve activities like color a page, fold your own origami hat (paper too small for child to wear hat), and magnet fishing game. The snacks provided were a handful of small bags of chips and fruit snacks. The included merchandise was a plastic pail with a certificate in it. The photo booth doesn't print pictures, they will email them to you. Really we paid a ton of money to stand in line to get pictures taken with only two Octonauts and be rushed out. I can't express my disappointment more in this event.

    Great show!

by Octomom919 on 11/14/16DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

My son absolutely loved this show! He watches octonauts at home and to see them live was a real treat for him. The effects and stage setup was really awesome. They did a great job on the set design. It was great to see the encouraged crowd participation as well.

    Great for kids!

by mewhitehead on 11/14/16DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The show was obviously geared toward the smallest people in the audience. The kids enjoyed it (my four year old son included). The parents in the auditorium played along, but, from my vantage point, every adult was just there for their kids. The writing, such as it was, was poor, the "actors" in the suits were not particularly engaging - and the prerecorded voices were also pretty bad. That said, the DPAC is a nice venue, the staff were always bright, cheery, and helpful. The snacks and drinks were good and reasonably priced (the beer was a little more expensive, but for what I had to witness for my child, nearly any price for alcohol was worth paying).

Fun show for the kids. They work to involve the audience. My 4-yo enjoyed it very much. Would recommend.

this was pretty disappointing for our 4 year old. They didn't sing any of the songs from the show - our 4 year old kept asking if it would get better, but it never did. Luckily he's pretty even-tempered, so he was happy we went to the show together even though it was a bust. As we were leaving, he said that it would have been better if they had just showed the cartoon on a screen for an hour. I felt the same way.

    Octonauts Live! was Great!

by Elaine3931 on 11/7/16Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

This was my son's first show. He's 3 1/2. We sat relatively close so he could see well and had no issues. All of the props and characters were large enough to be seen from all over the concert hall. The show did a great job of keeping things "busy" to keep the little ones occupied on the stage and what was happening next. Even the little "breaks" for them to change backgrounds were entertaining with the different sea animals that came out in front of the curtain to pass the time. Overall, we both really enjoyed the show!

    Poor Show

by AB198316 on 11/7/16Macon City Auditorium - Macon

Very poor show. I have taken my kids Disney Live shows and Sesame Street Live and this show is not close in quality to those shows. This show could not keep my kids (5 and 2) entertained. And to top it off, it is only an hour long and has an intermission...we left at intermission. WASTE of money. The characters are not very animated and the set is lacking in detail. Would not recommend the show.

    My daughter loved it

by Lindzandjo on 11/7/16Macon City Auditorium - Macon

All around perfect for toddlers and young children, it would be a little more fun if the screen in the back of the props had a little more graphics to interact with what's going on but none the less it was definitely suitable for young kids. She loved it

Engaging, BUT where's my creature report?!

by Cadetmommy on 11/2/16Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

This show was practically a home run. My kids loved it. My two year old never even tired to get out of his seat. The characters were very real, they kept the kids engaged. But we were all disappointed to not have a creature report-the octonauts staple!

    Great for the kids

by oneofmanyfans on 11/1/16Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The show was well choreographed with fun new songs. All the favorite characters were there. I was disappointed that the Octo-alert was simply replaced by a "volcano alert" to the Creature Report tune. The real human leading the show was a great way to get the audience involved. Super bummed at the voices, though. Characters were in full masks the entire time - were the fancy British voice actors from the real show just too busy to be bothered with recording voices for this stage show when it's such a treat for their dedicated fans? Wish something more would have been done. My five year old noticed the difference, but luckily I was able to keep their poor planning from ruining the magic by attracting her attention to the fun instead. Great idea to show so many past "guest" species from the midnight zone in the show. Puppeteering was fantastic. Very well written show. My kids can now say that they are official Octonauts, and they will surely never forget this.

This event was a waste of time. They carried around cardboard cutouts for half the show. My daughter asked to leave in the middle of it.

Octonauts was our first live show

My just-turned-four year old daughter and I had a great time. She got up and danced and cheered for all her favorites.

    Not great

by MidwestPianoMan on 11/1/16Murat Theatre at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

My son loves Octonauts. I watch the show with him on occassion. I bought these tickets as a birthday present for him. The show was poorly staged - no real creativity there. It looked and felt cheap. It didn't really do anything special. They had a guy on stage giving directions to the kids - presumably to make the kids feel like a part of the show, but it just felt tacked on and cheap. Also... WORST THING... the ONE thing I was looking forward to in the show was for them to do the Octonaut theme and the Creature Report song... and they didn't do it! What were they thinking?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
