Venues keep changing around the fair. This was a good location but it was very hot. Went on Saturday afternoon. Beers were good but they need more shade and better music.
This was the first time I didn’t care for this event. Being at the sport arena sucked. Too hot, not enough shade, no enough tables, where was the food without leaving the event, and standing in dirt?!?! You’ve done way better. To have such a “big” area, why not space out the vendors, add water stations, add more umbrellas/tents to get out of the sun, add food vendors. It felt cramped and as if no one cared. Zero planning went into it this year and it showed.
We love this event but super disappointed they made the decision to sell water vs having it available for free. On a hot day drinking beer water has always been readily available but not this year. This was only disappointment otherwise great event!
The beer, friends and the OC Fair were the same as ever. However, the Brew Hee Haw was so much smaller than the last couple of years. It was in the sports arena, and was dirty and crowded. There seemed to be less breweries than in the past, and the tasting cups were 1/2 the size they were in past years. The bands started so late that we missed them, even though it was going on 10pm when we left. The Brew Hee Haws of the last two years, held in the Pacific Amphitheater and the Hanger, were definitely better. We'll return as it's our favorite Fair event, but it was definitely different this year.
The venue was in dirt. There were less vendors present. Hard close on last night and session. In the past, they let us go a little later. The band was sub par. Bring back Dead Mans party.
For the price you pay not worth it and on dirt? And I’m sorry the band sucked
Second brew he haw I've attended. Some great beer and fun people! My only advice is ...MORE SHADE! It was a hot day and some shade around the tents would have been nice.
Ok, it's one thing to offer VIPs an hour early access. That's the only reason we get the tickets. More beer and less people. We can get a lot of the samples done in that time and then sit back and enjoy our favorites the rest of the night. One thing that really stood out: Who in their infinite wisdom decided to put the event inside the dirt? People who wore sandals due to the excessive heat, were extremely pissed. Myself included. Second thing, the lack of seating nearby the vendor booths. So, we had to wait in line no problem, but the lack of seating nearby to be able to socialize and enjoy friends and new acquaintances was a problem. With the combination of the dirt and having to walk back and forth to the outside seating area was a concern for myself as I didn't want to to fall down.
Great venue for Friday night. Lots of space to move around. Great beers as always.
Good beer, seltzers, and other beverages. The musical entertainment was good. Could have more food options in the stadium, but fetching food from the fair and bringing in was an option. Would go again.
The overall experience was good! Fast Times was the playing that night and they are always great! The admission process needs to be improved. It would be nice if the dump/rinse stations were scattered about the Venue rather then just along the parameter. Even though it was pretty crowded we never really waited very long to get served by each station. Overall it was fun! Slightly overpriced which is the only thing that would keep me from doing it again.
The fest was super fun, but I preferred the old location at the fair. The Hangar was SUPER packed, the floor was super slippery, and the band was just wayyyy to loud. I couldn’t even hear myself think. The outdoor venue was hotter, no doubt, but the vibe was much better. More casual, more room to move, and much shorter waits for the beer booths.
Brew event was okay. Seems like every year it is getting worse. Crowds are getting larger the IPA beer at most of the booths tasted like vinegar (any fish and chips to dip into my beer?) LOL. The Fast Times 80s cover band however was phenomenal and made up for giving us 3 oz plastic sippy cups instead of the glass. Also, Stone Brewery wasn’t there this year which normally was our go to, so that sucked. Probably go again next year and I hope that it is better next time.
This was one of the best times I have had in quite a while. Dozens of beer vendors with some sensational products. That in itself was great but that all was eclipsed by the band Fast Times. They were sensational. From the first song to the last, they had the crowd jumping and shouting! Great musicians, great singing, and a wide selection of 80’s hits. We will return to this event!!!!!
We were invited to this event for a 50th bday party! We had the best time ever! Every vendor was so nice!! Even with the crowd of people, there was no wait in line for a taste! Amazing!!! This was our first time but we will definitely go back every year now! What a great event! I now have a new beer that we purchase because of this event! Great job! Hands down!!
The only thing was we were not able to upgrade our general admission to VIP to be with all of our friends. At the end, we all got together and enjoyed every minute.
Beers were good, vendors were friendly and VIP hour 6:30 to 7:30 was great. After 6:30, it was packed. Felt like herded cattle, which was appropriate for the Fair?
Great venue! We were out of the sun with a cool breeze. General Admin tickets were great. Even with VIP inside already the lines moved quickly. The band was Super!!!!! No complaints! Being able to go out to the fair for food and return was brilliant.
Venue was very small in comparison to last year. Felt that there was less vendors. Band was great the music was cool but leaves no room for mingling or conversation due to the band so loud If I wanted to see a band I would of purchased tickets for a show not beer tasting. I came back excited expecting the same as last year to find everything had been changed.
Getting in was a bit disorganized - no obvious looking line and should have been two separate lines for VIP/GA. Band was phenomenal and really made the entire experience. DJ was great too. The Hangar was definitely a better location but still cramped and too small.
