This was my first time seeing OAR and I thought they were great. Set list was good. I was surprised at how there weren't a lot of people at the show.
Whe nyou headline at Red Rocks you want to be sure to please the crowd. O.A.R. failed to do that. They didn't play any songs from "In Between Now And Then" on eof their hottest albums. With all of the ladies there you would think you could give them a "Hey Girl"! MAke the girls happy = Make the guy happy and neither was accomplished. Where's "Revisited" or "James"? Play more classics and ease into the new songs. Next time you're at Red Rocks be sure to have a beat on the crowd.
There are two variables that can make up a great show. 1 - A great band. 2 - Great atmosphere. Not only is the band on top of their game as far as talent goes, they know how to put on a show. The old jazz drum set they rolled on stage sent chills! Saxophone solos, acoustic versions, stories to tell... it was an unforgettable evening. And not to mention Red Rocks! There is just something about a concert at Red Rocks... a feeling that you can't get anywhere else. The feeling of "I'm here with thousands of my best friends". You can tell the band feeds off that and it shows in their performance. The vocals were haunting... in a good way!! They played all great songs which kept the showing moving right along! Awesome opening act to set the mood!!
Oar was fabulous! They did an incredible cover of U2's Bloody Sunday, given that the concert was at Red Rocks this was a fitting tribute. They did a great mix of old and new, interacted with the crowd, and kept the fans on their feet for 2 hours. Brett Dennan openned and he was very good, but a little mellow for an opening band.
You could not ask for two better and more talented artistes to share a stage, and with the stage being Red Rocks just made the night complete.
This was a really good show. Laid back and just overall a good night. It did rain a little in the beginning but the rain cleared and OAR put on a great show. They played a lot of their new stuff which was nice to have some variety.
This concert and venue couldn't be beat! I love Red Rocks and I love OAR so not much could have made this a bad night. The only bummer was that I lost an expensive coat and Red Rocks lost and found did not have a record of having it, so it was a disappointing loss but had nothing to do with the concert and show! If you haven't seen OAR live I highly recommend it!
OAR was again a terrific show. They do a great job of playing new songs and their old jams everyone knows!! Great encore and a lot of fun to watch, this is my 3rd time seeing them at Red Rocks!
Excellent show with highlights being a cover of U2s "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and of course "Crazy Game of Poker". Several times throughout the show, the band expressed their excitement at playing Red Rocks and seemed to enjoy themselves whcich translated to the audience. Nice to see a band give it their best effort on every song and engage the audience. Excellent show - highlight of the summer.
I have been to many many O.A.R. concerts over the years across the country, but this show blew me away. I was surprised to find that it was one of my favorite concerts, because it was in the middle of nowhere in Iowa. But Mark was on fire that night!!! The band played great and I loved the way they changed up their set to add new fresh approaches!! The most amazing part of the whole concert was the way the rain stayed away the whole show... until the encore. It was so magical to be rocking away to Crazy Game of Poker while rain drops were falling from the sky!!!! I LOVED this concert and had a blast!!!! Keep it up guys, you rock and I can't wait for the next show!!!!!
OAR is fantastic in so many ways. Their music evokes wonderful emotions and the guys in the band seem so grounded and have not let fame go to their heads. They are always grateful for their fans and shows. Thank you OAR!!!
OAR put on another great show at Westfair. A decent crowd who seemed to enjoy the entire show and know most of the music
Would love to see them again. Didn't know a ton of their music but they rocked it out. You can now consider me a fan!
My first OAR show, but not my last. Drove from Buffalo NY. Great performance the acoutistic part of the was the highlight. Crowd was wild.
I have never been to a OAR or Red Rocks concert and they both exceeded my expectations. I now listen to OAR all the time and hope they come back again soon.
I was originally more excited about Brett Dennen before OAR but I was quickly taken over by OAR once they started. The entire crowd was going crazy the entire show and they didnt miss a beat. I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. They sound great live while playing music from different periods in their career. I would highly recommend this to anyone that asked.
The last OAR show we went to was at Jones Beach, so that was a much bigger crowd than Bonner Springs. But, we still had a blast! Was about three feet from the stage the entire show and sang along with every song. Anyone who hasn't seen an OAR show is missing out big time.
I loved all the Columbus songs being played back to back. War Song, Fallout and On My Way were all amazing as well. The whole show was incredible and tons of fun. I would have appreciated hearing a little bit more of their old stuff, but I respect a band for promoting an album. Definitely will be seeing them again (for the 7th time).
I could spend all my time enjoying O.A.R. at the Red Rocks Ampitheatre. They were amazing!! It was great to listen to how they have anticipated this event their entire career, to play at the Red Rocks Ampitheater and we got to be there for it. They put on a great concert and were really in tune to their crowd. Brett Dennan was an awesome opening act.
Great opener with brett dennen, great weather, great venue!
