About

Nurse Blake (born Blake Lynch) is a touring comedian, creator and licensed nurse who’s worked in level one trauma centers since graduating from nursing school in 2013. To cope with the stress of nursing school, Blake began posting comedic videos on Facebook and sharing his experience. From his first viral sketch, 2017’s “The Scrub Romper,” to 2019’s “New Nurses Be Like…,” Blake has amassed over 3.5 million followers — including frontline workers and RNs who connected with his relatable sketches — across social media. In 2013, Blake launched Banned4Life to end the FDA’s ban on gay and bisexual blood donations, which contributed to lifting the lifetime ban in 2015. Following his nationwide PTO Comedy Tour, which sold over 120,000 tickets, Nurse Blake was dubbed a "genuine phenomenon" by The New York Times in 2022. He is also the author of the bestselling children's book I Want To Be A NURSE When I Grow Up.

    Absolutely hilarious

    by Paige RN on 11/25/23

I’ve loved Nurse Blake’s videos for a long time and was so excited that he was going on tour. I loved that he talked about more than just nursing. He was having fun and made the whole crowd laugh the entire time. The nurse roasts were my favorite. I will definitely see him again!

    Nurse Blake

by FearlessFrof on 11/23/23Robinson Center - Little Rock

Although everyone in our group laughed out loud most of the show contained a lot of bad language and some vulgarity. He’s the Rodney Carrington of Nursing. Funny but very off color comedy. All of his observations on nursing are pretty spot on though!

    Good time!

by Happy Nurse on 11/22/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Good. But definitely reused some material from the last show. I still laughed and had a nice time but some of the material I heard both in the first show and the cruise.

    RN forever

by IvLyGa70 on 11/22/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Nurse Blake is the stage version of everything that goes on in my head. He tells the work of nurse like a pro and kept the crowd roaring with laughter. Love it and the meet & greet.

    Best comedy show I’ve attended

by Rosita on 11/22/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

I could relate to literally everything he brought up that night. He has such a creative and humorous mind. I’m glad he has found a way to bring some laughter to us because nursing is a very hard career. Only a real nurse can bring this type of comedy to the table.

    Laughter for Healthcare

Nurse Blake was amazing! He kept us laughing all night long. Healthcare is hard, but Nurse Blake reminds us that laughter is good for the soul. I look forward to seeing him on tour again!

A Must See for Healthcare Workers

by Nurse Alicia on 11/19/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Nurse Blake was just as hilarious in person as I expected from watching his videos the last few years. He kept the audience entertained the entirety of the show and even has some bits for non-nurses and non healthcare workers we might be in the audience. Would definitely like to see him again!

Disappointing and excessive use of profanity

by Marcia on 11/16/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

I have always liked the jokes Nurse Blake shares online so was excited to see more of that. However instead of focusing on the humorous side of nursing, his show was very sexual and almost angry in nature. He used excessive profanity, telling stories about his recent breakup with his partner and his separation from his parents. It wasn’t at all what I expected and I wont see him again

    2021 was more my style

by Melissa on 11/16/23Adler Theatre - Davenport

I was very pumped to see NB again! Excited to go with 8 of my favorite coworkers and laugh, release some stress and have a great time! We were all disappointed in the content. It was way too raunchy. Just not our style. There were plenty attendees that were enjoying the comedy it just wasn’t for us.

    Funny show

by NK on 11/15/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

The show was so funny except for the obnoxious workers speed walking up and down the aisles beaming flash lights on someone if they used their phone and escorting them out!!! I will not be returning due to this I have 7 kids and need to be able to navigate them getting to and from their things. I paid for the show. If I chose to not watch it all and play on my phone. Then so be it!! You already had your money.

    Such a fun experience!

by Christy on 11/15/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Nurse Blake was so funny and includes the audience in the excitement of the show. His show was really entertaining. I highly recommend it for nurses and other healthcare workers. If you’re not in healthcare, you might be bored by the references and dark humor.

    It was ok

by LadyB on 11/14/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Nurse Blake is funny and relatable to nurses which is why I was excited to attend the show. However, he had some old material that I had already seen online. In healthcare, there is so much material to work with that it was a little disappointing.

    Hilarious

by Jo G on 11/14/23Adler Theatre - Davenport

This was a great show, lots and lots of laughs. It was a great tension release for ALL present attendees, but especially anyone in the Health Care field. Loved it!! Thanks!
