It was wonderful. I love The music and the performances. And I like the lighting.
A friend wanted to attend this. It was a birthday gift for her and her two house guests from us. The 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed the orchestra and the vocalists.
The orchestra was magnificent. We took our granddaughter for the first time she is seven years old. She intently listened to the entire performance. When I asked if she liked it she really did. My husband and I bought season tickets for several years and I realized how much I missed it.
The Philharmonic is a treasure! The holiday show spread warmth and joy! It is a must see for everyone in NEPA!!
I went to this show hoping to listen to a talented group of musicians play A LOT of Christmas music and get me in the holiday spirit. What we got instead, was a "folksy" rendition of "Sound of Music" throwbacks that had me grinding my teeth after the second rendition.
Wasn't sure what to expect as this was first time attending a Philharmonic event. Surprised at the quality of the performance. Musicians more accomplished than I thought they would be. Of course, guest pianist was a show stealer by himself. Excellent performances all around.
The locals did a major-league job with this one. (Please forgive sports metaphor.) And my collegiate son even got to sing in the chorus! Call me biased, but ...Win!
It was a life goal of mine to see Beethoven's 9th perfomed live and I finally realized that goal. The NEPA Philharmonic absolutely nailed it, it was everything I could have dreamed of. I will be going back to see them for other performances for sure.
The NEPA Philharmonic's rendition of Beethoven's 9th was incredible. My first concert of theirs, I would definitely go again.
Great show with comfortable atmosphere. Staff was helpful and friendly. 10/10 would go again.
I attended the show because my son was singing with the AHHS Mixed Ensemble. It was absolutely enchanting. I have seen the show in previous years and enjoyed it immensely, but seeing and hearing my son performing with so much talent made it all that much more special.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Philharmonic concert with ballet- two of my favorite mediums. The music was beautiful-enjoyed the various interpretations of symphonic music with a dance theme. The young ballet dancers were lovely. Another great program from the Scranton Cultural Center.
wonderful mix of standards music with blues and some r&b mixed. Great to hear music older than I am done this way. refreshing and entertaining!!!
This was a great concert. Steve was at his best. His group was at it's height and the NEPA Orch. was wonderful. It was truly a great evening. I f I have any complaints, it was that at some times the sound system did not balance the orch against the voice. Steve was hardly audible during some passages in some song. But this did not ruin the over all experience.
My Wife and I enjoyed the show very much. Steve Tyrell is an amazing vocalist
I took my wife to this Valentine concert since this is her type of songs. What to my joy, the arrangements were very jazzy. This year's concert was 100%better than last years. I would also like to mention that the Philharmonic box office is very flexible. Last year we had obstructed seats in front of giant speakers. During the intermission we complained and were given better tickets. This year we couldn't get to the concert due to a large snow storm. We went the following evening and they exchanged our tickets for similar seats.
This was a most enjoyable concert for young and old alike. I attended with my daughter, daughter-in-law, her mother and 4 of our grandchildren. We each fully enjoyed us. The orchestra, conductor, and singers gave outstanding performances. I would recommend it to everyone and hope to see another concert in the near future if the opportunity arises.
Wow, What a great preformance! Between the preformers and the stories it really was an enjoyable experence!I really enjoyed the video on the pianists hands, our seats where balcony so the camera gave us the ability to see his hands.I would highly recomend this show.
Good narrative, good singing, a bit too much dancing, given the story. The orchestra sometimes overpowered the singers.
Clearly, In my 25 years of attendence, the best Northeast Philharmonic Concert Ever!
