Gerald and Norman's great finale to the 24/7 tour!
by Dawash on 11/27/12PIGOTT AUDITORIUM - SEATTLERating: 5 out of 5Gerald Albright and Norman Brown did not disappoint on their first collaborative effort with the 24/7 CD and the tour of the same name. The pair announced that Seattle was the final stop of the tour and they did not show any fatigue or lack of effort in their performances! Both are jazz stalwarts and shined both in playing songs from their CD and the highlight tunes from their respective solo careers. Gerald Albright's story behind his first solo effort and the playing that tune "So Amazing" was poignant and special. Norman Brown rocked the house in one of his big hits when he played the title track to his "West Coast Coolin'" CD. Gerald Albright was the ultimate showman commenting on his recent AARP status, but then went on to put in some major work on a medley of his hits and clowning with the audience. Norman kept up with Gerald's energy in his solo efforts. Each commented on the fact that they had known each other for 30 years, but this was their first collaborative effort. Let's hope that we do not have to wait so long for the second collaboration. The concert was great!
