  • Amazing Performance!

by Fe on 11/20/25Rating: 5 out of 5

This was my 2nd time seeing this amazing guitarist play, but my 1st time seeing him in a smaller venue, the City Winery in St Louis. Norman Brown brought the house down and was absolutely 💯. I have a priceless face shot of him on my phone that I look at everyday. Norman Brown is a very special musician that pours his soul and energy into his music and fans and I love that in him. Always praying for him and can’t wait to catch him again soon!!

  • Motown 25 - Moonwalk

by Nunya on 11/12/25New Orleans Jazz Market - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

You know when something so insanely unique happens it can only be regarded as a spectacle. Like when Geraldo had the world on edge to only open an empty vault. How about when all persons of faith rebuked when the Jehovah Witnesses predicted the day the world would end. Lol... I saw Vince Young give the single greatest team sport performance when he led TX over the defending champs USC with their 2 previous consecutive Heisman winners (Leinart and Bush). I recall the Space Shuttle explosion. I remember the night the first Black president was elected. Lastly, I will never forget the night Michael Jackson moonwalked across the stage at Motown 25. All of these I will never forget. Seeing Norman Brown "live"and "cut loose"is right there!! Seeing this show is a must!! The crazy thing is he still had more to give. He was bound by the allotted time. This man is the best!! Even my non-jazz loving wife was standing throughout the show.

  • A missed opportunity

by Ches on 11/4/25New Orleans Jazz Market - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

The sound mix was terrible! It appeared that a ‘sound check’ did not happen. The voices, lead guitar, drums & bass guitar were out of balance. It slightly improved as the concert progressed. Many there have been to concerts where the sound mix was professionally done, The audience & Norman Brown’s band were robbed of what could’ve been a great performance.

  • Norman was Fabulous!!!

by Ang on 11/4/25New Orleans Jazz Market - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Mr. Brown was phenomenal! He made his show so personal by talking about his personal experiences and how they lead to his artistry. He is a brilliant guitarist and keep the show LIVE and full of fire the entire time. I appreciated his commentary, which I normally don’t like, bcz it described him as a musician and how he got to where he is. I also loved his spirituality that most likely infuses his sound. Can’t wait to see him again. Hope he comes back to New Orleans soon!!!💕💕

  • EXCELLENT SHOW, SOUND NOT SO MUCH

by DUKE on 11/4/25New Orleans Jazz Market - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Norman put on a great show, as usual! However I found the sound stage to be too bright and unnecessarily loud! Jazz sets should be more acoustic, warm and easy to listed to. The 1st 3 songs were entirely too loud for the venue!! I nearly left because of it, couldn't hear Norman's playing as he was drowned out by the drums. Don't know why mics were even needed for the drummer. The vocals were also not clean, couldn't understand what Norman was saying or singing most of the time, maybe his mic needed to be turned up a bit. The venue is cosy and I expected the sound to match, IT DID NOT! I'm hoping the jazz market will address these concerns as many of my friends that attended felt the same way. I love the facility, world class but please correct the sound stage for the most enjoyable evening of Jazz and Blues music. Drinks were a little expensive for my taste but I under they have to cover some of the cost for keeping the ticket prices so reasonable! I plan to attend another show in December, Lindsey Webster, and I hope that her set is more intimate. I'm sure the sound engineer will make adjustments. ...just my opinions :)

  • Noble Norman Brown concert

A Nostalgic Music Experience Despite sound issues and a DJ who didn’t engage, Hubby and I had a fantastic time enjoying Norman Brown’s music and the tastiest catfish dinners at Aretha a month ago! đŸŽ¶đŸŸ Kudos to the Bathroom staff for keeping everything clean and stocked! 📾 What’s your favorite live music experience? #LiveMusic #Foodie #ArethaFranklin
