About

Nine Inch Nails in Concert

It's hard to imagine alternative music without Nine Inch Nails' hand painting it all in black. But the now iconic band had some rather humble beginnings. Musician Trent Reznor dreamed it all up as an assistant engineer and janitor at a studio in Cleveland, Ohio, back in the late 1980s. This job gave him access to a space where he could record demos—all by himself. These songs would eventually take him on tour in 1988, even supporting a major influence of Reznor’s, Skinny Puppy. This led to the 1989 release of NIN’s debut album, 'Pretty Hate Machine,' a collection of dark, grimy industrial pop that wormed its way into the mainstream consciousness with singles like “Head Like a Hole,” and ended up peaking at No. 75 on the Billboard 200. Quickly, NIN would be everywhere, even landing a coveted spot at the first Lollapalooza in 1991. But this was only the beginning.

NIN’s second album, 1994's 'The Downward Spiral,' proved Reznor's star power in all of its doom and drama, especially with major hits like "Closer" and "Hurt." The accompanying Self Destruct Tour saw those songs transformed into wild and vicious performances, feeding the dark myths behind Reznor’s shocking NIN persona. But his last release of the '90s, 'The Fragile,' would show a slightly more introspective side with its haunting mix of beauty and brutality.

Into the 21st century, NIN has never quite stayed the same—in sound or in lineup—but Reznor's ferocity and fearlessness as an ever-evolving artist has. He’s consistently challenging the idea of electronic music and its ability to play with the psyche, even in its most minimalist form with ambient releases like 'Ghosts I-IV' and his own award-winning film score work with Atticus Ross. Still, NIN is every bit as steely and subversive as it ever was—as proven yet again with the experimental industrial rock of 2018’s 'Bad Witch' and its supporting Cold and Black and Infinite Tour.

Over the course of their career, NIN have brought countless venues to capacity, like Zappos Theater.

The Most Epic NIN Show of All Time.

by HauntedIsle on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

We knew we would be in for a treat with this being the unofficial official honorary R&R HoF induction concert that got rescheduled twice due to the Covid pandemic. We did not know that both current and former band members would join forces to perform together for the first time ever. Bygone’s have been. Some of the best live performances of their songs were witnessed by all of us who were truly humbled to be there to witness them. They did not close with Hurt for, I believe, the first time since TDS’s release. This was the NIN performance of our lifetime and certainly worth the flight in from Boston. Epic.

    Done with Blossom

by Chris on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

It all starts with the hour of traffic you know you will hit everytime getting into blossom. You then get parked on Steele's corner and have one heck of a walk in. It's inevitable that you will miss the first one or two openers every time. There is way too many tickets sold and you need binoculars to see anything from the lawn. Everything I knew would happen did. Blossom is just not fun anymore.

Great show - venue not so great.

by JsinHarm on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

Nine Inch Nails and Ministry were awesome. I could hear them but couldn’t see because the wheelchair section at this venue sucks. As soon as everyone stood up I couldn’t see anything. The venue needs to build up the wheelchair section a little higher so those who cannot stand can see over the heads of those who can stand

    Homecoming gig for industrial megastars

by Drizzyrascal on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

Nine Inch Nails didn’t disappoint one bit. This is my fourth time seeing NIN this year, the summer gigs in UK were awesome enough for me to fly from England to see the final show of the tour. The support provided by Nitzer Ebb and Ministry was enthusiastically received by the crowd. This meant that everyone was ready for the main act. The band ran through a classic, but varied set of their hits and a few deeper cuts. But the highlight for the audience was when four ex-band members came on stage to perform the last few songs of the set together. This historic moment will live in the memory of everyone that saw the show for a very long time. It was very special.

Incredible but room to achieve perfection

by DJMetropolPGH on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

First time at this beautiful venue and loved it. Although I appreciate that it’s not a monster lot of asphalt I have to admit I was concerned about the distance people I saw walking in the dark to get to their cars. The lineup was the perfect for my taste and well worth with the 2.5 hour trip. So kudos to LN and the bands for that. Two disappointments: A friend had lawn tickets and ADA was ‘sold out’? Not sure what that even means - X number of folks are here first so we cannot accommodate your needs. Please expand the area, and after a certain time open it to others, thanks. Secondly, lawn chairs not permitted - initially I thought ‘okay gonna be a wild show and they could be used for weapons’ but no, it was a money grab for which my ADA friend mentioned above had to pay.

    Mind Blown

by Deckard on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

The venue needs to update and remove this downward incline. But man did NIN make history with this night. A core memory forever. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to top this.

by Wes on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

Simply WOW!!! Ministry was balls to the wall bad ass, then came Nine Inch Nails. One of my favorite bands and for good reason they deliver!!!! Albums amazing live show amazing appreciation of the fans amazing. So many years into their career and his voice is still perfect, the muscianship only got better as time went on, the music holds up and is still relevant, and they are still a force to be reckoned with live. So simply put Nine Inch Nails are and have always been AMAZING!!!!

    Best night of our life.

by Katy A. on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

It was the show of a lifetime! We were on the lawn, but had a good view up front. We were selected by an usher to sit in VIP seating right behind the soundboard, and watched in awe. It was my 6th time seeing NIN. Best show ever. I would suggest more traffic control in and out of the venue. 20K fans leaving a field at once was 2 hours of gridlock. Otherwise stellar time!

    Mind blown

by E on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

One of the most amazing shows I’ve ever been to, history was made. Leaving this venue was a nightmare though. If you Ubered in, you were screwed and stuck for hours and hours with no way out. So unorganized and never saw any staff helping at the end of the show. The police help was a joke, they were just pissed off we were there and wanted us out of there. We had to pay a stranger to drive us to our hotel, because waiting for an Uber would’ve five hours. I’m not sure if this happens every show they have, but I will never go back to that venue again.

    Amazing but sad

by Steve on 9/27/22Blossom Music Center - Cuyahoga Falls

The show was stellar!!! Enjoyed seeing my fav band! But the only issue I had was leaving the show. It took 2 hours to get out of the parking lot - TWO HOURS!!!!!! That’s unacceptable! It was my first time at blossom and I don’t think I will see another show at blossom.

NIN, Ministry, and Nitzer put on a show to end all shows. I feel lucky to have been there.
