Nine Inch Nails in Concert
It's hard to imagine alternative music without Nine Inch Nails' hand painting it all in black. But the now iconic band had some rather humble beginnings. Musician Trent Reznor dreamed it all up as an assistant engineer and janitor at a studio in Cleveland, Ohio, back in the late 1980s. This job gave him access to a space where he could record demos—all by himself. These songs would eventually take him on tour in 1988, even supporting a major influence of Reznor’s, Skinny Puppy. This led to the 1989 release of NIN’s debut album, 'Pretty Hate Machine,' a collection of dark, grimy industrial pop that wormed its way into the mainstream consciousness with singles like “Head Like a Hole,” and ended up peaking at No. 75 on the Billboard 200. Quickly, NIN would be everywhere, even landing a coveted spot at the first Lollapalooza in 1991. But this was only the beginning.
NIN’s second album, 1994's 'The Downward Spiral,' proved Reznor's star power in all of its doom and drama, especially with major hits like "Closer" and "Hurt." The accompanying Self Destruct Tour saw those songs transformed into wild and vicious performances, feeding the dark myths behind Reznor’s shocking NIN persona. But his last release of the '90s, 'The Fragile,' would show a slightly more introspective side with its haunting mix of beauty and brutality.
Into the 21st century, NIN has never quite stayed the same—in sound or in lineup—but Reznor's ferocity and fearlessness as an ever-evolving artist has. He’s consistently challenging the idea of electronic music and its ability to play with the psyche, even in its most minimalist form with ambient releases like 'Ghosts I-IV' and his own award-winning film score work with Atticus Ross. Still, NIN is every bit as steely and subversive as it ever was—as proven yet again with the experimental industrial rock of 2018’s 'Bad Witch' and its supporting Cold and Black and Infinite Tour.
Over the course of their career, NIN have brought countless venues to capacity, like Zappos Theater.
Very wonderful and a beautiful place to have the concert. NIN was even better than in 2013, they are aging like a good whiskey
Found out when we got to the gate that beach chairs were no longer permitted despite them being available to rent (cash grab!) and having brought them to shows previously. Constant rule changes make it difficult to plan ahead and enjoy a comfortable experience without just throwing cash around. Also leaving the parking lot was a nightmare as always.
My wife and I had a blast seeing Nine Inch Nails at Blossom! The facilities were clean! The show was spectacular! It was amazing that Cleveland Native Richard Patrick from Filter joined Nine Inch Nails for a few songs toward the end including Filter’s “Hey Man, Nice Shot”!
Great concert! Had to travel from Florida since NIN did not make it down there, was def a good time!
All three bands, Nitzer Ebb, Ministry, and Nine Inch Nails were great. One of my favorite concerts ever.
WOW It was great well worth sitting on the cold ground just to hear Trent and everyone play
Historic Night For NIN fans ! Almost perfect setlist. Perfect weather! And not to mention 5 older band members from the past on stage performing the last 5 songs with the current band members as well! Nuff said!
Excellent concert! Had a great time. Trent live is just as awesome as on his albums. Will be going again my very next opportunity!
I've seen Nine Inch Nails a least 8 times, and as usual Trent did not disappoint, great venue, great sound! Can't wait to see them again.
Richard Patrick performing “Hey Man Nice Shot” with NIN as his backing band was epic! Also cool that a beer vendor sold us some Great Lakes for $4z
I’ve been trying to see nin for 20 years. Something always happened preventing me to see them. This was my first time seeing them live. Played every tune like a pure craftsman, gave me chills and played nearly every thing I could of dreamed up and then a few more. Ministry killed it as usual but to play w Richard at the end for hey man nice shot, amazing. Ty so much nin n fam!
I had a wonderful experience from the merch vendor right outside the gates, the food and beverage, clean restrooms, and courteous staff. The night was beautiful and Nails was amazing as always!
NIN still has it in the bag, great show! Wished they played a few more songs though.
This was my 14th time seeing NIN and while it was outside and I was on a sloped lawn rocking out the whole time, their energy and professionalism are unmatched. Trent and company pulled out all of the stops for this show too, bringing back just about all of their prominent former members. It was truly a magical experience for those of us who have been fans for 25+ years. The only negative I can say about the show was exiting the venue. One of the worst after-show experiences I've encountered. Very disorganized and inefficient. Luckily I was riding high after that show.
NIN was amazing as usual, Misery was good. This concert was definitely one of the best I’ve been to.
I was in front row stage right my brow was terrible stage equipment blocked most of the performance area so the most of the performers on stage were not visible except lead singers. During the Nine Inch Nails performance my limited view was block by the camera man filming the dummer
There are no words to describe how amazing this show was. I've been a huge fan of all 3 bands for years and this was the first chance I've had to see any of them. Seeing all 3 at once was a dream come true. It was great to see how much hometown pride Cleveland has for Trent, and we're so lucky he put this show together for us. Definitely a night I will never forget. Only thing that wasn't enjoyable was the adventure to find our car at the end of the night!
I’ve never been lucky enough to see NIN, so this experience was my first. Visually and just overall, the band really put on an awesome show. They sounded just like they did 30 years ago! We had amazing seats and the stage and screens were very easy to see. The venue was great and comfortable. Overall, easily one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
Aside from the absolute best Nin show I've ever seen, the security were incredible. Very friendly people who were on top of everything. There was a drunk woman who attacked my friend and security were instantly in action. Just a blip and boom taken care of and then we continued to enjoy the show. Minimal interruptions and very friendly. But the parking was a nightmare. You'd think with so many shows there they would figure something out. It took us 2 hours to leave. Other than that, fantastic performance. Safe environment. We drove 15 hours to get to this show. And it was well worth it.
The music was great. Wished it was a longer concert. There was so much smoke / dry ice that it was hard to see the artists on the stage and on the screens. Still enjoyable and lots of fun.
