Ok so technically, as a group we give 3 and 1/2 stars- which is really good , but not outstanding. There’s just no way to put that. I took my wife and sister in law for her bday. This was my first time seeing him live (instead of social media), and their 1st time seeing him at all. The first opening act hit better than the 2nd - which is odd because it’s supposed to build momentum for the headliner. Nimesh did a set that was based around his family and religion but was still amusing and as probably the only Black viewers in predominantly Brown audience, his material didn't make us feel excluded. The first half of his set was more entertaining than the 2nd, but I’d see him again.
First time at the Wiltern (Los Angeles) and it was great. Love the venue. Nimesh had 2 opening acts which were good. Nimesh's act seemed a little short, but I think they gave him a time limit. He did a bit of crowd work, but the venue seemed larger than normal compared to when I watch his other shows. Overall great experience. I would see him again!
Staff were wonderful, drinks were strong, and Nimesh Patel killed it!
We recently saw Nimesh Patel in Las Vegas; his show was okay. Most of us were on the same page when Patel tried his new jokes on the crowd. But, if one didn’t fly, Patel reached into front pockets to find one of his classics. Those who had seen Patel before heard many of the same jokes online, which didn’t help get the crowd into the show.
Been to a few shows at the house of blues, never had any unpleasant experience. Recommend!
I’d never seen or heard of this comic before but I thought I’d go see him as I love comedy. He was surprisingly unfunny. Seems he is on some show and has a following. Even those people didn’t laugh. His whole schtick appears to be his persona, not his jokes or stories. He has great stage presence and confidence. Now if he only had some funny things to say, going to see him would be great. Wish I would’ve saved my money and my time.
I wish the old national centre would stop packing their Egyptian Room comedy shows like we are sardines. No elbow room or spacing makes the whole experience uncomfortable. Helium, Clowes or the Murat are much better.
A Snarky thinker . He dishes up some well spoken , well thought humor . I enjoyed his show so much .
Last time I think Nimesh was mentally healing from cancer and the show wasn’t like I thought it would be. This time he was lord of himself. So glad!
It was OK, sporadically funny but don't think this was his best performance
I found out my chair was broken and was moved to a seat that didn't have the same viewing experience and was a couple of rows behind.
Really funny dude. Even jokes that were specific to a certain demographic or group he explained a little and delivered.
Nimesh is a relatable guy, with relatable stories that just happen to be absolutely hilarious. He knows how to tell a story and he’s just the kinda guy you want to hang out with. Loved it!
I went with a friend who had no idea who Nimesh Patel was. I asked him to not watch anything and just trust. Upon exiting after the show, his first words were “I’d definitely see him again”. And. Think that encapsulates that night perfectly.
I’ve seen Andrew Schulz, Hasan Minhaj, and other comedians that aren’t as well known. Nimesh Patel was funny but I didn’t really enjoy the show. For instance, Andrew Schulz knows what’s going on in the city he’s in, refer to it, make jokes about it etc. Nimesh was talking about very specific things that happened in New York that we here in Toronto didn’t understand. Also, he tried to work the crowd, two parents and a daughter in the front, it was painful to see him attempt to make it funny. I met up with friends after that were at the show and we all agreed that the Persian and Black comedian that opened the show were way funnier.
fun opening acts, nimesh was terrific, especially when he went into more current material and pushed boundaries.
Nimesh Patel was great. His material felt fresh and honest. He was able to really connect with the audience while even in a bigger venue. Only thing that sucked was the venue. Terrible sound and volume for people in the back row and balcony. Out of performer's control, but the one downside of the night.
I did not recognize Nimesh jokes from the YouTube shorts, so I was pleasantly surprised. He seemed even more natural in person, and he talked about real things too. I had many good laughs. Best show I've ever attended, but I haven't attended that many.
It was my first time watching a stand-up performance and I picked Nimesh as I have been following his content for years and it resonates with me. It was a blast. He was funny, cool and a great stage presence. The comedians before him were pretty cool too. Specially Hassan. Would definitely try to catch his next show.
